His current contract won't allow him to be franchised a 3rd straight year, so either Ozzie truly hopes he is going to get a long term deal done, or they wanted to squeeze one more year of production out of Sizzle before he cashes in. If you had to choose though, would you resign Ngata or Suggs? I would probably say Ngata.

Ngata, we make linebacker here and we can teach them up just like we teached up sizzle, Ngata will become the most unblockable player in the league this year and you dont find 360 pounds Tongan warriors who can play DE every day, the guy is a rare athlete who is more valuable than Suggs although both are very valuable
Is it the average of the highest in the entire NFL? I thought it was in that 'position'.
First Tag is avg of top 5 in position
Second Tag is 20% more of previous years salary
Third Tag is avg of top 5 in NFL

not too sure after that.... might just be teh 20% again

Harrison is a system junkie. He was nothing everywhere but with the Steelers. He had one amazing year. And he gets this kind of money. If he wasn't with the Steelers he wouldn't be that good of a linebacker and i'm not the only one to think that considering he was cut from 4 different teams.

Suggs is a great player. If we can sign him for 9 mill a year thats a steal. He will be a consistant force for years. And when he played the Steelers with a seperated shoulder and got 2 sacks when he wasnt even expected to play. Hes a big time player

I can't believe we had Harrison in Ravens colors and let him get away. Two time pro bowler, two time Super Bowl Champion, reigning defensive player of the year. He was in the weight room two days after the Super Bowl. I had watched him in many preseason games while he was trying to catch on a couple different places and always wondered why he looked amazing in the preseason yet could never catch a break. When he got his chance though he is making the most of it.

Ozzie needs to get the deal done with Suggs soon. I couldn't bear the thought of him in another uniform and it worries me if he hits the open market that he will be gone.

Harrison's best years are behind him. He has a few more really good years and then age kicks in. Suggs' best years are in front of him. Pay him.

I hope you are right on both accounts. I am sick of seeing the Steelers win Super Bowls. I am just worried that with Harrison, Woodley, Farrior and Foote (possibly Timmons soon) that we don't even have the best linebacking corps in the division. I wonder when and how much Flacco's next contract will come into play with our salary cap and how much we are able to pay Suggs if a deal doesn't get done in the next year?
