Bucs have agreed to terms with QB Byron Leftwich on a two-year contract.

Anyone know who is left to be number 2 behind Roethlisberger now in Pitt?

With Leftwich gone, it now looks like the team will push harder to bring back Charlie Batch. If a deal can't be reached with him, they may promote Dennis Dixon to the active roster or consider luring back former Steelers backup Brian St. Pierre (currently with the Cardinals).

Either way, it seems unlikely that the Steelers would draft a QB to be the immediate backup unless someone unexpectedly falls into their laps in a later round that they really like.

From Steelers point of view, I'll be honest, I think it's not a good move. Leftwich is a solid back-up and has a ton of potential. He did incredible in Jacksonville consider he never played an entire season as a starter and if something were to happen to Ben, and the chances are of that are pretty high considering the amount of times he gets sacked, Leftwich would be a perfect replacement.

Now from Leftwichs point of view, he'll never be a starter for Pittsburgh until Big Ben retires, which is after him anyway. So it was either go to another team and try to get a starting role or be a backup his whole career. Good move on his call.
