What Happened To Adam Schefter

What has happened to Adam Schefter of the NFL Network?
You do not see or hear his name anymore on the network!
Has he been fired?

Probably just on vacation; They usually use him heavily at times when there are high volumes of NFL news like free agency periods, the draft, trade speculations, etc. He usually works through the night in those times so its understandable to give him some time off. Keep in mind this is only speculation.

I think I heard something about him expecting a child on one of the shows earlier in the year. Maybe she/he was born. Nothing Isaw on the site indecates that he is no longer w/ the network

I really doubt he was fired. I guess with nothing really going on untill the draft, he proably took some time off. I am sure we will see him back around draft time.

Last I heard he was nearing the end of his contract and NFL is looking in another direction, they want to get the name out of the reports that will be back. I forgot where I heard this but it wasn't a forum it might have been espn or something and how he won't be outta work long cause anyone will snatch him up.

Agreed on both counts, plus this past free agency period was the busiest he's been in the NFL Network's history. I've never seen him used as an on-air, all-day correspondent before during any part of the NFL calendar nor during previous free agency periods. The man was literally on camera every waking hour when the network was live in-studio during that first weekend, and then still made his appearances on NFL Total Access the following week.

The man deserves a vacation, so why not let him have it during one of the slowest news periods in the NFL calendar.

He is a good insider but he also came up with that crap about Ray wanting to retire rather than going back to Baltimore, a report which he basically rescinded later in the day.

Sources: Schefter To ESPN
Posted by Mike Florio on April 15, 2009, 8:39 p.m. EDT

Several league and industry sources have told us that Adam Schefter, who still is under contract with NFL Network, will join ESPN later this year.

Schefter is still under contract with NFLN, but he has not appeared on the air since early March. Schefter told Neil Best of Newsday on March 23 that he remains under contract with NFL Network until the middle of August.

It remains to be seen whether and to what extent Schefter

If that ends up being true, I'll be PISSED!...Though, it makes sense, given how the NFL Network has been brought in Steve Wyche and other new correspondents over the past couple of months.

But Schefter doesn't seem like he would fit with the presence of ESPN's go-to guy John Clayton and the semi-reliable Chris Mortenson. Schefter was THE guy over at NFL Network for breaking news, and honestly, he should just keep it that way or risk getting lost in the shuffle at ESPN.

NFL Network would be smart to sign him to a longer contract! I guess they don't have the salary cap to keep Adam with the NFL Network. :o He is the second best person they have besides Rich Eisen. I mean like a few of you have said, he was THE GUY over there, John Clayton is THE GUY at ESPN for breaking news, Jay Glazer is THE GUY over at FOX. NFL Network would be wise to keep him, he will get lost over at ESPN. That is going to suck if he leaves NFL Network, they don't have another person over there that would be as good as Adam, I mean Michael Lombardi breaking news now, terrible. He doesn't fit in like Adam did. I hope something gets done but if not I hope ESPN uses him just like the NFL Network did. FIND THE SALARY CAP TO KEEP HIM WITH THE NFL NETWORK!

Vacation.

Adam Schefter is a reporting beast, however, it seems like I'm the only one that notices it and it bugs the hell out of me. Whenever he talks he emphazises the "H" sounds, I don't know how to describe it. Somebody help me out haha

If I could, I would personally pay Adam Schefter's salary, just to keep him on NFL Network.

But, there's the little matter of becoming rich enough to do so, first. And by then, I would probably be rich enough to buy an ownership stake in the network and make all the decisions.

IT'D BE MINE, ALL MINE!!!!!...

lets not forget here, that The guy does have a family and a baby girl to see..... of which Adam said "weighed in at over 10 pounds!" and Rod Woodson was like "oooooooooo! man thats huge" lol it was on NFL network a few months ago or so.......

thats most likely where he's at right now in the off-season.
