Cal Ripken's Baseball Complex At Aberdeen

13 posts in this topic

I absolutely love Cal Ripken's Complex in Aberdeen. Ive played on many baseball fields in my life but Cal's are by far my favorite. Its got the Cal Sr. yard which is a mini replica of Camden Yards with a warehouse and everything , and mini replicas of wrigley, fenway, memorial, and yankee stadium. i played there when i was 11 when it was very young and nothing was done. then i went back there last year for my little brothers tournament and wow! the place is beautiful! the cal sr yard is an actual mini stadium thing and its soooooooooooo nice. i would just forget about my brothers games and go sit and watch the games being played at the Cal Sr. Yard because it is sooooooooooooooo nice!!!!!!!!! :D :D  . He has another tourney there this year too and i cant wait to go!! anyone else been there?

I played at the complex when it was very bare bones in its beginning stages of construction, and it was pretty nice then. I hit homers in each replica park except for Fenway. but those fields are top notch and so is the rest of the complex. 2 or 3 years ago my team traveled down to the new complex he built in Myrtle Beach, SC and that was awesome. it had the all turf fields and it was just a blast. it kinda stinks now because i wont get a chance to play on any of those fields anymore, but im glad i got the chance when i did. i havent been to the aberdeen complex recently, but the last time i saw it they were just finishing the warehouse...

yeah he did. he was on my team when i was 12, which was pretty cool since Cal was around a lot of the time, and the team actually got to go to his house twice which was awesome haha. we went to minnesota for the AAU championship tourny and we ended up winning it all that year...

yeah he was pretty solid. he pitched and played 1B. he had almost the same batting style/stance as his dad except he was a lefty. he's also really good at bball, im pretty sure he made the varsity squad as a freshmen at gilman.

but that year is something i'll always remember, a lot of fun times.
