Well written, but I gotta disagree on one point. I don't think Boller was the first or only draft bust for the Ravens. You are forgetting about Travis Taylor.

That's who I was thinking, but I think Taylor was more of a disappointment than a legit bust. He had some pretty decent years with the team.

That New England game will always set in my mind as Kyle Bollers greatest game. I think it ranks number 2 in the Ravens greatest games even though it was a loss. We played a very intense emotional game. In my heart we won that game....good ol Rex had to call the timeout though

I agree that game was awesome. The emotion was high when they started throwing their helmets walking to the locker room. We should have won that game. Boller was definitely always a loyal player, but I would rather see hime somewhere else.

Nice interview with Boller. I hope to see him do well there and hopefully get a shot at the starting position.

Me too; I think the Ravens made a mistake by letting him get away and keeping Troy Smith. But I'm a Flacco fan and want him to be the starter here for a long time.

We should have a "Hooray!, Fo' Sure! Boller is a Raven No More!" celebration rally on opening day...or at least a party!

Take a deep breath...let it out...Ahhh, it's such a relief to know that no matter what happens next season, Kyle Boller will at no point have to come in and pass an interception/fumble on a critical down/suck/drop a snap/look stupid/throw with his goofy throwing motion/trip over his own feet/suck/bum it up/punt he ball :D

Yeah cuz now we get to watch Troy Smith take a snap and run 4 yards back to the line of scrimmage after he costs us a time out. I also can't wait until he has to come in and manage 1 first down for an entire half. Hopefully the game will be out of hand and the opposing team will put their second and third string players in so Troy will appear to be a NFL qb and all his supporters can feel vindicated. After all he did win the Heisman and was a good college player so that automatically makes him HOF worthy, we should just enshrine him now.

I wish Kyle all the best. He played with great heart, took a TON of hard hits and always got back up. I don't think are many guys in the league with his heart. He never pointed fingers or made excuses when things went bad. He is a class act and I hope he has great success.

The Kyle Boller basher would have you believe that but if you read the entire quote in context he did not call him out, he was explaining how a qb needs to have faith in his OL of which Kyle had none and rightfully so. If Kyle had a decent OL he would have been a much better QB. When you only have 2 seconds to do whatever it is your doing it's hard to be effective. Mike Flynn was a major factor in why the Ravens had no OL for the last 5 years, they was one dimensional in that they could only run block but by the end they couldn't even do that.

I'm happy for Kyle that he will get a shot some where as I knew he would. Unfortunately around here there are more people with little football knowledge to know that Kyle couldn't take a snap, block the defense, throw the ball and catch it. It takes a team but Kyle got all the blame. He would hit receivers in the numbers but the receivers would drop the ball; would the fans blame the receivers? No they blamed Kyle. 1.5 seconds after the snap there would be a defender in the backfield running down Kyle from behind; did they blame the OL? No they blamed Kyle. Mike Flynn stepped on every qb's foot tripping them from Anthony Wright to Kyle Boller to Steve McNair; did any of the other qb's get the blame? NO it was the OL. Did the OL get the blame when Kyle was behind center? No it was Kyle's fault.

I just became a secondary Rams fan and honestly because of the ignorance of the fans and the treatment they gave Kyle Boller; if the Ravens end up playing the Rams with Kyle under center regardless of the situation i.e. pre-season, regular season or playoffs I don't know that I could root for the Ravens in that situation. I would be the biggest Rams fan and Kyle Boller fan and would feel gratified watching the Ravens fans go home with their heads hung. I would be in a no lose situation but would feel a lot better if the Rams won.

I know a lot of you will blast me for saying that, but it's just football and I don't live and die to be a Ravens fan, its only entertainment to me.

I am a die-hard Ravens fan but I will not bash you for the assesment of the way Boller was treated in Baltimore. I agree that he took too much heat for the lack of an O line protecting him, dropped passes that he hit on the numbers; however, I can;t go along with your statement that I would be the biggest Rams fan and would be gratified watching our fans leave the stadium with their heads hung. Boller was not treated fairly in Baltimore, but I would never root for the Rams to win because Boller was/is their QB. Ravens rule

Nobody should be defending him as a player. He got paid like a King and buried us so many times.

And that's what makes me better than you. I like Troy Smith (winner) and you like Kyle Boller (loser).

 j/k

Hey I'm all for backing a guy who has heart, but after 6 seasons with the guy...I mean, I just don't get how people in their right mind can think Boller deserve(d/s) anything.

The guy is a proven loser. If being tough and having heart is your thing, then rent Braveheart and praise Mel Gibson. But to support a guy who has done nothing but fail his whole career...give me a break.

I'd rather cheer for the Bicyclist who finished 25th in the Tour de France last year then root for Kyle Boller. At least the guy who comes in 25th will have accomplished something.

Rooting for Boller is like rooting for your dentist to win Employee of the Month...there's no point.

You should go back and look at what Boller did; he's not the blame for everything. Why does everyone keep saying his five years or six years? He was only the projected starter for 3 years; he was the back for his last two years. It's easy to make claims now that everything is said and done. But I remember a lot of things happening throughout Bollers time here and a lot of it was not him.

BTW, Troy Smith was already on the team when they drafted Flacco. I don't think you waste a first round pick on a guy if you think what you have is a legitimate player. I could see it if they grab a guy in the low second or 3rd round, but to trade up in the first round to select a qb when you have a Heisman winning HOF guy already holding down that spot, doesn't say much for Troy Smith. Did you read the story they have on Troy here at BaltimoreRavens.com? I thought Troy was signed for 5 years but he's in his last year and will surely not resign with the team as a backup, so my day just got a little better.

I'm not looking at as Ravens vs Rams, I'm looking at it as Boller vs Ravens fans. As I've said before football is entertainment, my life doesn't rise and fall with the success or failure of the Ravens, there's always next year. So for me watching Boller beat the Ravens fans would be pretty sweet.

Yeah, sorry to be the first one to tell you this, but Kyle Boller was on the team too when we drafted Joe Flacco...

Boller has had 6 seasons with the Ravens to prove himself in practice, in training camp, and in the regular season and he FAILED MISERABLY to establish himself as the clear cut franchise QB. How many more chances does 1 guy deserve? 53 games is 52 too many

He's played in 53 regular season games. In 53 games he put up 7,846 yards through the air. In 16 games Flacco put up nearly half that....as a rookie

Boller averaged 6 yards per throw as a Baltimore Raven

He had 45 TDs + 44 INTs
His career QB rating is 71.9
He had 36 fumbles

Face it...Boller is a bust! A bum! For goodness sake man Tony Banks had a better career than Kyle Boller!

Give it a rest! There's a reason Kyle Boller isn't on our team anymore and Troy Smith is....
