America's Game: Story Of The 2000 Baltimore Ravens

43 posts in this topic

America's Game in my opinion is the best thing NFL Films has ever done and thats sayin a lot because NFL Films is amazing. I think our only edition(for now), the story of the 2000 Ravens, is the best one! theres so many great parts!

My favorite parts:

~ When they score a TD for the first time in 21 quarters
~ Ray Lewis- "when he said men lets go win a Super Bowl, my mouth got watered. I say pheww."  u gotta see it
~ The "P" Word
~ Brian Billick- The pundits and experts are gonna pick this apart and talk about some kiss ****** 3rd down percentage. Hey. F*** them all.
~ Billick's screamin like a banchie speech
~ Dilfers game winning TD pass to beat the Titans in the regular season.
~ Billick on the sideline- "If we go to the Super Bowl like this i may never throw another pass again. Burn my degree from BYU" :D
~ Ray Lewis intro dance
~ Ray Lewis steely eyed focus part where its showin his hits and highlights
~ Ray Lewis- "Now, even those who don't like me.......Got to watch me."
~ Ray Lewis about game sealin int return vs. titans in AFCCG- "I remember Eddie(George) grabbin my leg. And i remember snatchin my leg from Eddie. And runnin down that sideline, I could not hear a sound. I remember I put my finger up to my mouth and told Adelphia Coliseum to be quiet. Cause yall done."

AND THE BEST PART OF ALL

Jermaine Lewis returns 2 punts for touchdowns in his first game back after his son was stillborn in a 34-20 victory over the Jets.

What are your favorite parts??

There've been better episodes, but for our purposes, it was the best one. ;)

I cried during the part where they were telling Jermaine Lewis' story, and then the way the music perfectly complemented the imagery just got to me. Seeing the look in J.Lew's eyes, too, as he pointed to the sky in tribute to his child was just a tear-jerker.

I loved that Ray Lewis quote, too, about how everybody's got to watch him even if they don't like him. That gave me chills.

Alec Baldwin did a great job of narrating, too.

yea that part is really sad. i love how the music is used in a lot of parts. like when Ray is running down the sideline. And Alec Baldwin did do a great job. probably the best of all the narrators. theres a couple other ones too like on the 07 Giants. I didnt like that narrator at all

I've seen a lot of them and I thought emotionally and story-wise it was one of the weaker ones, but it's still one of my favorites simply because it was the Ravens :D

The 01 Patriots was arguably the best of the bunch, that was beautiful

Awesome story! I have seen on it NFL network before but I also went ahead and bought it on NFL.com. They did a good job putting the whole thing together. I love watching the defense work, they were so impressive that year. All this talk, I think I'm gonna go watch it again!

I have seen the 2003 version in stores but I have never watched it. I did though buy the 4 playoff game set and that is pretty neat to watch too. Its all the playoff games and the superbowl in full but without commercials. Pretty cool to watch every now and again.

I love when ray lewis says something to the effect of "all the critics can say what they want now...cuz what I came into this game to do...I've done."

That quote freezes my spine because of how many cholls I get lol. I don't know, I just love that quote after all that Ray went through that year. I just can't get over how great the memories are, even though I was only 10 then.

God, can't wait to see Flacco on one of those episodes...or two...or three lol.

actually it would be the 08 steelers and the 09 ravens......................i think if the ravens won next year the people would be Flacco, Harbaugh, and Ed Reed or Terrell Suggs since Ray already was on one

Yeah I saw it on NFL Network after channel surfing and it caught my eye. trent Dilfer does a great job of explaining his position and what he had to do to manage/win games.

Sigh....what a year that was. I was only 12, but I have never felt something quite like that feeling when the clock hit :00 and we were Super Bowl XXXV Champions. The Sun the next day, with the word "Glorious!" on the front page, and the sea of Ravens car flags that engulfed the beltway....those were the days haha. I hope that I get to experience that again and also have my O's return to the top one day.

I remember the O's being pretty good. I was born in '88 so I vividly remember Cal and Brady and Alomar and Mussina. I remember the playoff series vs. Seattle, New York, and Cleveland....and that's my last memories of us being good haha. Oh well, maybe in a year or two....

Ill be 22 in a couple weeks and I have so many memories of sitting on our back porch when we lived in the country, with my grandma listening to the Orioles on the radio; not that we couldn't watch on tv but my sister and I were too young to sit in front of the tv and watch a whole game. so my grandmother would sacrifice and listen so she could keep an eye on us in the yard. I still love watching the classic games (the ones with Mussina, Cal, Brady Anderson, BJ Surhoff, etc) on MASN. I went to Orioles opening day last year but its just not the same to me anymore...I stopped following it closely for a few years and I guess its hard to get back into it when I don't recognize any players anymore.

thanks for the heads up on this. will be DVR'ing it
great year it was such an emotional rollercoaster.
my dad and i went to tampa and went to some bar on the water and watched it with a couple hundred crazy ravens fans all screaming
at the projection screen. it felt like being at the game with us chanting Defense the whole game.
That game in that setting being there with my dad was probably one of the happiest moments ive ever had in my life.
Im sure rewatching this show will bring out those emotions again. The super bowl highlights always do it to me.

I have watched that America's game so many times and everytime ray talks about his pick 6 against the Titans i get chills. "I said, 'one of us gonna make the game winning play'"

"I saw him turn, and I saw the ball comin off his hands. And honestly im sittin there like, 'WOW, its like, right here'"

and when billick is tlaking about ray and what people would say to him on the road... "But after a while we began to recognize, they don't know what they're doing. Not that this man needs any more focus but when you start throwing those things out at him, the way it brings that, steely eyed focus and resolution to do what ray lewis can do, I'm sure the opponents didn't realize how much they were playing into Ray's hands."
