Andre Smith Ot Alabama

I mean it wasn't that long ago that he was considered no 1 overall material. But since the whole thing at the combine, his weight issues, and a reputation of not being a hard worker lead me to believe he may start to freefall. This is especially true since he will be at best the 3rd OT taken and possibly the 4th. With lots of talent at other positions I say theres probably a 10-20% chance we could get him. Provided he can play either side well (he would need to play RT cause I really like Gaither at left) how great would that be? Then we maybe move up in the second round and grab Kenny Britt from Rutgers. How great a first day would that be?

No I don't think he will fall all the way to #26.

And to be honest, the reasons you mentioned for his stock dropping in the draft, will probably prevent Ozzie and John from being interested in him.

Thats why nobody should take him in the top 15 or 20 picks but at 26 it starts to become all about risk/reward.

I think the kid is too talent and LTs are highly valued for him to slip that far. Even if he is the third LT taken off the board he will probably go in the top 15. There always seems to be a strong run on LTs in the first round and sometimes guys that should be taken in round 1 are just because they are Ts.

even if he was there at 26 i don't see the Ravens taken him. I don't think he has ever played RT and that would be his long term position for the Ravens. It would be hard to think that if the kid couldn't work hard enough to be the best LT in this draft, that he will work hard enough to excell with a position change.

I think him being suspended for the bowl game and the whole combine thing will be big for a lot of teams, but all it takes is one team to not really care about all of that and for that reason i don't see him sliding that far.

If he fell to us it would make me so happy. I dont give a flying you know what if hes fat, Willie Anderson isnt exactly shredded is he? the guy can play and does something the other LTs dont, MAUL. We would have two pass blocking bookends who can drive people backwards. \

No more Todd Heap staying home to block, no more Adam Terry getting ragdolled at TE, TE!!! we could send out 3 WR sets with Heap on the slant :D

Even if he's there.. no thanks. Ozzie would probably be able to get a King's ransom for it though.

it would be great, but hes a great player and only had bad times at the combine and pro day, but his tape speaks for itself

I would do it in a heartbeat... all u gotta do is make is contract highly incentive based and based on how many games he plays boom moderate risk/ through the roof rewards... If he is there at 26 we will either trade with someone so they can get him or we will get him no doubts

We definitely wouldnt pass him up and trade the pick away.. He's gonna be an incredible player and Ozzie wont pass on the BPA especially when the BPA is someone who can come in and make an immediate impact ..

He is a top 5 talent and Ozzie would take him due ti the BPA approach, it would solve a huge problem aswell
