Pre Season Schedules Out
Except that it's not really a drought for me. I'll attend as many training camps as I can starting in late July, and then the preseason rolls around and you have to watch guys who won't make the team playing against each other. How many open roster spots are there normally? One?

I don't really have a problem with the inflated view that you have of yourself normally, IQ, but don't quote my post and then say that you're a bigger football fan than most. Sorry if that sounds harsh as I'm usually cool with you, but the majority of your posts are meant to provoke people anyway.
Easy there with your Ego big fella. I'm flattered that you think I would take time out of my busy day just to personally go out of my way and insult you, but I didn't quote your post to call you out. I quoted your post because you said Pre-season football was boring and I was telling you why I thought it wasn't. It had nothing to do with my inflated self view; which is very justifiable by the way because I am pretty great B) , but rather me just suggesting that you probably don't live and breathe football like I do. My obsession with the sport is borderline creepy. Sorry if you took offense to it. To be honest with you, I could give a dam less how much of a fan you are. I was just explaining to you why I think pre-season football is so great.

If you got provoked by me saying I'm a tru NFL fan then I don't know what to tell ya? If I was trying to provoke you I'd tell you to take up watching soccer as a hobby. (which probably isn't a bad idea for you)<<<see . Now that's more along the lines of me provoking you.

 But seriously...you should probably look into that.

warning: this was just a joke, plz do not take it seriously *uh hum*

You're still definitely passing judgment, but I'll take your word and prevent a petty argument that I probably instigated anyway.

The people who don't know why a pre-season exists must be educated to the fact that the pre-season has a purpose.
If you're not interested in it then say that and its okay but don't say its in-valuable. Otherwise they'd totally be rid of it.
Pre-saeson is good for Fantasy football too. We should start a Fantasy Football League with Ravens Fourm Regulars (or do they already have one)
Now we wouldn't want to do that, bcuz I would just DOMINATE the entire league and that wouldn't be fair to the others. I've learned over the last 2 weeks (thanks to the mod staff and their mod preview feature :) ) that you have to be considerate of peoples feelings, and by me COMPLETELY owning my opponent with my kickass fantasy team, every single week, peoples hopes & dreams will start to become crushed and demolished along with all their fun. And I don't want to do that to people. I mean the amount of *** whoopings that I would hand out on a week to week basis would seriously be considered a small tragedy in most 3rd world countries.

I think you should seriously reconsidered the ramifications of starting a Ravens Message Board Fantasy Football League. I just don't want to have to be responsible for the beatdowns that I would have to issue onto whoever was unlucky enough to have to face me.

But then again, I'm game if you are. Mods you should get on that and make it happen (officially).

A wise mod once told me that if you look like an @$$ from far away then up close you're even more of an @$$.

The point being...I don't know? I just thought I'd pass the Wisdom along.

I still love you Mod9

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Now that I think about it, the preseason schedule is kinda really convenient for me, personally.

The first preseason game coincides with the (likely) day of my final exam for summer session. And the Monday night game against the Jets happens to be on a night when I think I specifically requested off from work for some reason. And the Week 4 matchup happens to be right after the start of fall semester.

So, it's perfect! :)

Hey, I'm just looking for more excuses/occasions to wear my new customized authentic Ravens jersey, dammit! I didn't pay no $200 for it just to have it hanging in a closet!
Again, I'm sorry if I sound ****y, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that most of you haven't been forced to pay full price for two meaningless games in August for the past ten years.

Maybe they're fun to watch if you're sitting on your couch and have the option of changing the channel, but believe me, for a few hundred bucks, they're not enjoyable.
awwwwwwwwww i live in Baltimore and actually get to go to my favorite teams games waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Sounds like I plan to me!

I pay full freight for my preseason games and I still love preseason--NFLN 24/7 football what could be better B)
If I can't go to games I donate the tickets, give them to my dad and his friends or take my sons and their friends and call it an early Christmas/birthday present. Actually they have the games before school starts which is a good thing.
It is what it is and arguing and telling people what to think is not going to change the reality. Everyone is entitled to their opinion there is no right or wrong.

I don't live in Baltimore, actually, and it's probably hard for you to imagine the inconvenience that is preseason seeing as how you probably skip the games entirely, or sit on your couch.
Are you kidding? I LOOOVVEEE pre-season football. You get to see all the draft picks play and you get to see people battle it out for the final roster spots. Iono, maybe I'm into football more than most, but I don't find the first football action of the year boring at all. I mean 6 months of football drought? By the time august rolls around I'm literally PHEENING for some NFL, and I'll take anything I can get. But then again, not everybody is a true football fan like me...
I too can't wait for the preseason to begin. August/September have some meaning for football fans.

I think this is a perfect preseason. I can't wait til the jets game. I know it's only preseason, but I think our boys will be pumped up for that one. As much as they can be for preseason anyway...

So do you think that because we have a Thursday night game and a "Monday" night game for pre-season that will exclude us from primetime during the season? How is it that we can't seem to ever get a national stage in Baltimore during the regular season? We were 2nd in the AFC last year!

BTW, I think preseason is nothing more than a 1 month tease. You get all excited about it, but 3 minutes into the game it isn't a game at all and even if you win or lose, it doesn't mean anything. It's kind of like going to a strip club. You go, get excited, they take your money and you leave with nothing. :D

hahaha..... first you tell me that i can't tell oters to like preseason. now you tell me that i don't. god if i could only have your "burden" the only times i get to go see the Ravens live is when they come out here to play the broncos. I would kill to be able to sit on my couch and watch the Ravens instead of having to wake up and go to drink and eat crappy fried food at 10:30 in the mourning. i miss relaxing on my couch and watchin the Ravens. also i would say your a lil closer to Baltimore than i ;) you seem angry and bitter for some reason maybe you need to talk to someone about your financial situaton or just stop putting it off on innocent people

your speaking a lil soon on the PT thing lets wait for the schedule

except an evaluation of plays and player depth as well as a few position battles here and there and its a rookie showcase. you can't say that you wernt excited about ray rice after last preseason

Call me crazy, but I can't really get excited about the pre-season, win or lose. The Lions had 4 wins, I believe, and look how much that helped them

This thread needs somebody to walk around handing out tampons.

Anyway, both sides have a valid argument. The pre-season has a purpose and certain parts can be fun to watch, but charging full price for tickets is kinda lame.
