I had a hunch theyd give us the Jets...and the Skins, of course.

Spring Training is a bit more exciting as you get to see a ton of young guys and it's in Florida. NFL Preseason just conjures painfully boring memories of games played in bland domes like Atlanta or Detroit.

I wish we got to play the New York Ravens during the regular season on MNF, that is seeming to become a new rivalry...well for the fans anyway. I hope we beat them :)

Please, don't butcher the word "rivalry." Pittsburgh/Baltimore is a rivalry; Baltimore/New York isn't even noteworthy.

Are you kidding? I LOOOVVEEE pre-season football. You get to see all the draft picks play and you get to see people battle it out for the final roster spots. Iono, maybe I'm into football more than most, but I don't find the first football action of the year boring at all. I mean 6 months of football drought? By the time august rolls around I'm literally PHEENING for some NFL, and I'll take anything I can get. But then again, not everybody is a true football fan like me...

I don't mind the pre-season (on TV)... what I mind is that the NFL charges FULL price for the games if you want to watch it at M&T Bank Stadium.

u mean the orioles from july till september. nothing worse than going to a baseball game when ur team is 20 games below 500 and then gets blown out and the opposing team is anaheim or somebody and there are more fans for the other team chanting lets go angels

I'm probably one of a rare few,. but i actually like the preseason. I like seeing guys compete and fight for their football lives. I like to see the young guys that could potentially help us during the regular season, or the ones that will help in later years.

I like to predict the final roster before hand. I like watching the guys that u hear about having impressive days at camp, put that effort into the game.

I never really have the chance to get out to the Training camp so preseason is the offical start of football for me.

Now with all of that said by the 4 game i'm just ready.

as for the schedule i would have loved for the Flacco vs Ryan game to be the 3rd game so that they could have more time on the field. Not just one seires

I can't wait for Jared Gaither to pancake Bart Scott. As far as the Redskins are concerned...eh, who cares? We already owned them in the regular season. Their fans aren't gonna want to start running their yaps after the beat down we gave them when their season was on the line last year, bcuz we can always bust out the "24-10". So the back and forth probably won't be the same, which will make it kinda boring. The Deadskins are inferior to the Ravens so it's not gonna be worth bragging about anyway.

Except that it's not really a drought for me. I'll attend as many training camps as I can starting in late July, and then the preseason rolls around and you have to watch guys who won't make the team playing against each other. How many open roster spots are there normally? One?

I don't really have a problem with the inflated view that you have of yourself normally, IQ, but don't quote my post and then say that you're a bigger football fan than most. Sorry if that sounds harsh as I'm usually cool with you, but the majority of your posts are meant to provoke people anyway.

Im not too fond of pre season...although I do usually go to the home pre season games since my dad has no interest in going to them so I end up with his tickets. the most annoying thing ever though is the fans who refuse to see that pre season means nothing...do you know how many times Ive heard Redskins fans say "but we beat you guys in that one game..." It's usually that annoying drunk Redskins fan at a bar that tends to bring that one up!

I love having football to watch, and seeing rookies compete and free agents trying to make a mark. I just HATE losing good players to injuries during the pre-season. Imagine if Reed, Lewis, Ngata, Flacco or some clutch player tears an ACL? I'm getting sick now, so I'm going to quit thinking about it.

What stinks about these preseason games is that they are both on a weeknight, Thursday and Monday Night which means I will have to take some vacation leave to see the games since I'm a PSL holder. They should have scheduled one game when the O's were on the road one weekend. If you don't have season tickets its a good chance to watch some football cheap as some people will unload their tickets.

I think it's gonna be fun. I want to see Troy play QB, Rice get more carries, Willliams get more catches. Barnes, Zibby, Nakamura, Gooden...lot's of guys i want to see compete. Plus our starters usually play at least 1-2 quarters except for the final game maybe, that's usually just for the practice squad type guys who won't make it in the NFL except for a few of them. That's also when you get to see your late round draft picks or undrafted free agents in action.

It's clearly not as exciting as regular season football but it's still fun IMO.

I'll definitely watch the games, but I just dislike the NFL preseason more than spring training.

Maybe I'm just bitter about the fact that I have to pay full price for two meaningless games, though. Spring training has an actual purpose, at least for the O's, while the NFL preseason seems like a major money grab.

I get excited for the NFL preseason and all, but that excitement quickly fades after the first or second game. And then it just becomes a countdown to the regular season.

It's hard for me to stay interested in the preseason games after the 3rd quarter. Which, I guess, is longer than a lot of fans will watch, but I just lose interest quickly when there's a bunch of no-names on the field, especially in the 3rd and 4th game.

you, as a ravens fan, should love preseason. we pride ourselves on depth and this is like a preview of the next men up. plus i will be looking forward to see T.Smith toss a couple. Also i like to check out our draft selections. And our 2 and 3 string gets intense cuz these games are like the final exams of TC.

Most people do not want to see that, they want to see full tilt NFL football and complain that the Pre-Season is a waste. I personally like the Pre-Season and I take it for exactly what it is, Pre-Seaon. It is not really about winning or losing it is about the evaluation of your football team for the up coming season and time to install new plays/formation or whatever needs to be corrected before the Real-Season. ;)

Pre-saeson is good for Fantasy football too. We should start a Fantasy Football League with Ravens Fourm Regulars (or do they already have one)

Please stop telling people how to be a fan and/or how valuable the preseason is, it's absurdly annoying and unnecessary.

Again, I'm sorry if I sound ****y, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that most of you haven't been forced to pay full price for two meaningless games in August for the past ten years.

Maybe they're fun to watch if you're sitting on your couch and have the option of changing the channel, but believe me, for a few hundred bucks, they're not enjoyable.
