Fairly self explanitory poll, really.
I would like to say though, that I've correctly predicted what Ed's pick total would be for the last 3 years. And this year I think he's getting 6.

And as for career, I would put him in the 62-70 category if he can stay healty (which is obviously a big if) , probably the lower end of that scale.

I think this number also has to do with who the starters at CB and SS are this season. If reed has to provide pass support and cover a dangerous WR then IMO this would limit the about of INT's he will get. If he gets to patrol the feild and use his knowledge to follow plays like he has a knack to do, then he may get more then last year.

In 7 seasons beginning with his rookie season he has 5,7,9,1,5,7,9, picks sooooo which means if this pattern is correct he will have 1 pick because he will probobly miss a bunch of games due to injury ohh noooo. OR if he doesn't have an injury he will have 5 according to the pattern.

I think 6-8 is a reasonable range since QBs tend to forget in November and December not to throw in his direction. The cold must be getting to their brain.

As for his career, I could see him having at least one more campaign like 2004 and going over the 70-int mark by the time he's done. I don't see Ed Reed not being productive for at least another three years or so.

04 & 08 were the same INT wise according to the guys above who said 5,7,9,1,5,7,9

he was beastly in 08!

Yea, to be safe i would go with 6-8. But, ya never know. I mean, remember how cautious reed was near the beginning of the season b/c of the injury? then he simply lit it up later in the season, taking more risks. i think that if he starts out the season like he ended it he could give scary numbers, well over 9 picks. also given that landry will be the strong safety, the qb will have no idea where to throw instead of away from reed, since both reed and landry can make picks.

As for his career, i'll go with 63-70. those are still very good numbers.

word is out on him.
Every QB knows look for Ed Reed and throw elsewhere.
Not going to be a banner year for INT's

i say about 3 or 4, no one throws his way, he just plays that deep zone and no one throws it there, he wont get looked at next year but he will put away 3 or 4 because its Ed Reed

That 5,7,9,1,5,7,9 scares me a lot,

i hope it is more than one pick lol, it also helps us as it just completly takes away the deep ball with Washington's speed and reed ability back in the zone, so if we can land a big physical corner you have to think our d would be unstoppable,

But i think Reed gets about 3 or 4

Your telling me that Ed Reed is only going to get 3 to 4 picks. He is playing the NFC North with Orton, T Jack and Culpepper. I believe he will have 7-9.
11. he'll have a minimum of 4 in september. book it
I picked 3-5 because I think that is the conservative pick. With all the changes on defense and being a year older, I kind of expect our defense to fall back to maybe 8th to 10th best overall in the league. I am also interested to see how Reed plays in big games. I have always felt that a good QB can nullify a good free safety by looking them off and playing smart.

In 3 games against the Steelers last year Reed had a combined total of:

12 tackles
1 sack
1 pass defended

I consider these below average numbers more of a product of Roethlisberger's great play not Reed's poor play.

Big Ben is smarter then average.. hate to say, but He really is a elite QB.

I dont think this is a good comparision for the year. But I do agree with the last sentence.

7-9 picks is a safe guess.. He is Ed Reed afterall. Hopefully He's at full strength at the start of the season.

I used to think Reed benefited a lot from playing from playing on a great defense and sitting in a deep zone all game long. However, the first interceptions he had against Jacksonville and Miami prove he was arguably the smartest safety in the league.

The Ravens a lot of pass-happy teams this upcoming season so I expect at least 6 interceptions.

I'm curious to see how Foxworth plays. With two of the fastest corners in the league teams may not throw deep as much. Heck they might not throw deep simply because Ed is back there but who knows. Ed's still good for at least 6 though.

It's been hinted at in an earlier post...

but all you have to do is look at who the Ravens play this year. Look at their QB situations, and look at if they are a run-heavy team or not. Besides Minnesota, nobody the Ravens play is going to be a huge threat to run it, and none of them have a running game they will depend or lean on. Ed Reed and the rest of the defense will have an insanely fun year if they stay healthy. 10+ picks, obviously with health permitting.

Quinn/Anderson... with no Winslow, and possibly no Braylon.

Palmer with no Housh, and an unhappy Ocho.

Lions...
Bears...
Broncos...

I mean, you get the point. But to be honest, if they were able to beat the Colts this year and Ed didn't get an interception the entire rest of the year... I'd be okay with that. But it better be a really convincing win, where we blow them out and are up by 30 points at halftime.
