would you rather have drafted matt ryan or joe flacco if ryan was available last year in the draft?
Other than the hype, I don't know much about Ryan - don't know how he would have performed with our offense and against the defenses we played - so I'll take Flacco. I'm quite pleased with what we have in him, but only time will tell which has the better long-run career.
...Would you rather have us beat the Steelers twice or the Colts and Pats once next season?
Beating the Steelers twice would help our playoff hunt better, because besides us winning twice, the Steelers would have those two losses. Beating the Colts would be nice, too.
ok heres a tough one, would you rather lose joe flacco or ray lewis?
I think you just made the baby Jesus cry.

:P

I wouldn't say the Falcons were a pass first offense. Hence why Turner ran for the yardage he did. Was it like 1700 yards or something?

As for the Ray Lewis/Flacco question, It depends where Ray goes. If we are talking about losing him to Dallas, Pittsburgh or inside the division then I rather see Flacco go. But if he goes to like the Jets, Skins or one of the teams that arent the empires of evil than I guess let him go.

Uuum...how bout this (since there was NO WAY to get Ryan):
Would you rather have drafted Joe Flacco or Derrick Harvey or Keith Rivers or Jerod Mayo or Chad Henne blah blah blah....
We have JOE FLACCO aka Joe Cool aka Rookie Of The Year! It's not like we didn't strike gold a or anything!

I don't blame you, I blame the off-season and the fact that football doesn't have any farm leagues to watch.
Would you rather Joe Flacco get injured and have to start Troy Smith for the first half of the season or Ed Reed and have to start his backup (Nakumura?)?
ill definitely take smith there, smith has proven himself in my mind, dont you remember when he actually BEAT the steelers? theres something not even the great joe has done yet.

would you rather have the #1 D or the #1 O next year?

No I don't remember that; I only started watching football this past season.

I'd take the number 2 defense that we have and then add the number 1 offense to it.

Not to take anything away from Smith, but Pittsburgh was already in the playoffs that year and they were resting their starters so i dont think thats a legit win.. A wins a win, but he hasnt played their starters yet..

for the #1 d or #1 o question, it WAS a fact that defenses win championships, but with all the rule changes its become an offensive league...... i mean whats next, you pulled his flag too hard... 15 yard penalty
Matt Ryan for sure. Come on guys i know joe is our QB and all but there is a reason Matt Ryan went 3rd overall he has much better talent and he showed it in his stats. Completions, touchdowns...you name it.
better O-line better- WR, but joe was still close to his numbers B)

In Brady's career, he has won 3 sbs and the Steelers have 2 in the same time period, right?

That was then, this is now. At the present time it appears that the dominant offense is winning, but only slightly.

Short Term Ryan he would have been enough to probably get us over the hump
Long Term Flacco he has a ton of upside and i believe he will be better than Ryan in the long run.

I think both of them will be the best quarterbacks in the nfl in the near future so i really don't think you could go wrong either way.

well if you want to look at all the superbowl champion teams this decade so far 5 teams had a top ten Defense
and only 4 teams had a more Dominate Offense

2008-Steelers-Defense

2007-Giants-Defense

2006-Colts-Offense

2005-Steelers-Defense

2004-Patriots-Offense

2003-Patriots-Offense

2002-Tampa Bay-Defense

2001-Patriots-Offense

2000-Ravens-Defense

I think you are underestimating the Pats defense! There is a lot to be said for a bunch of old guys who get the offensive play calls signaled into them from their coaches. I think what they did was extremely disgraceful. I really hope that the Pats do not have any serious amount of success in the future so that I can continue to believe that their Super Bowl wins were just a product of their cheating.

the colts might have a good offense but they got to the superbowl because of defense

They had the number 3 Offense

and the number 21 Defense

its safe to say they had a better Offense

Flacco was the right player for the right price. Matt Ryan's contract is double that of Flacco's. If we had drafted Ryan, we wouldnt have been able to keep any of the guys we had going up for free agency.

But their defense is what carried them during the playoffs that year. Peyton Manning pretty much choked, early in the playoffs like he always does and his D bailed him out.

And I dont think the Pats won the Superbowl mostly because of their offense. I think its been because of their defense.

That may be, but once Bob Sanders came back from his knee injury that year their D was lights out until they won the big one. As for the Pats, the giants proved that a good D will beat the O when it comes to championships. That is why the Patriots record was 18-O ***** Giants!

EDIT: It's just like the Card's this year. Their D stepped up at the right time and they made it to the big game. Which they incidentally lost because their D finally played like it had throughout the regular season. (Also, they left too much time on the clock at the end. Fitz should've run around in circles as long as he could have before going into the endzone.)
