How Many Games Will The Orioles Win This Year

11 posts in this topic

I think that may even be a bit high. <_<

I think they have a shot to be better than last season. But will they blow up late in the season again? Probably...always seem to. They aren't nicknamed the blos for nothing.

The AL east is even worse this year with the Rays now a serious contender. So in addition to the Sox and Yanks, now they will beat the blos into submission. I forsee another last place, pathetic year with 65 wins. All the O's apologists can say all they want about the offseason acquisitions and maybe a suprise team blah blah, but the organization has shown no real chance whatsoever of climbing out of last place. I hate to be a pessimist, and even sound like a fairweather fan. But they have shown ZERO prospects of a better season for more than a decade. Every year I hear the same garbage about new minor league prospects, new management, new uniforms, new hot dog vendors, new foam fingers...all in an attempt to make it look like they will do better. I have run out of patience and hope. The blos must prove that they can compete, not win a title, but just compete for chrissake.

A few bad seasons are easy to forgive and remain a fan, but decades?

70 games. We have a very solid offense but no pitching. If we can strike gold on two guys other than Guthrie..... we should be good to go. We have a solid bullpen, but as we all know, they need to perform better asap.
i'm actually going to say we go .500 this year so what 81?
That's an extremely optimistic prediction.

.500 probably wouldn't even be reasonable in other divisions, but considering that we have to play the Yankees/Rays/Sox 60 times a year, it's pretty far off.

I think this year's record from today's standpoint is totally unpredictable. We can win as low as 55 games and win as much as 80 games. Like stated before, if we can keep starting pitching straight, we should be OK. im worried about Guthrie though. looks a bit rocky in spring training. If Guthrie can keep it good, and Uehara keep performing, there's a good 1-2 punch. Eventually when Rich hill gets in the rotation we'll have 3 solid pitchers. the other 2 pitchers will probably be the projects.

Im gonna go with 57-105.. A few years ago i used to run my own baseball, football, and basketball website with predictions, polls, major headlines, a forum and a lot of other stuff.. It became a handful to do by myself so i discontinued it.. I actually did pretty well on most of my predictions, but again, it was a lot to do by myself..

I dont see the O's coming anywhere near the playoff this year.. The pitching needs a lot of improvement for the O's to be considered a .500 team..
