I'm sure this has happend to us all but here's my story:

I'm in year 16 of Franchise (Steelers) and I'm playing those pesky Ravens late in the season. It's a Monday night game, they won the earlier matchup and both teams are 8-3. I have the settings on All-Madden (but only full on O-Run and D-Run). It's a tough game and tied at 7 with 2-3 minutes left in the half as I'm driving for the go ahead score.

Again, this has been a hard fought defensive battle: Both teams punted on their first possessions and scored on there second with 12-15 play drives each.

So I score with under 2 minutes in the half to take a 14-7 lead (and I get the ball back after the half). Then, I force and recover a fumble on the kickoff!!!!! Whoo-hoo. Run the clock down and score again: 21-7 me. Now, that doesn't sound like a tight game, but it did not come easy. I needed that last break to be able to mix it up in the second half, but I am feeling good about it. So, it's half-time and I'm ready for a beer. I get up, something falls and hits the xbox remote (not the controller) just right and it kills the power to the 360

I finally play the perfect game, and it's erased by a technicality!!! I couldn't bring myself to start that game over for 2 days.

I wasn't going to tell you what happened on the rematch but since you insist

I then went one to eek one out on them in round 2 of the playoffs.

Jon, we may need to get a little Madden going one of these days. I didn't renew XBOX Live this year, but I may soon. Any interest?

and then a freak accident caused all the steelers to fall extremely ill and forfeit the rest of the games?

I would but my internet connection blows and likes to drop every 5 minutes. It makes trying to play Left 4 Dead very frustrating.

I get bored if it's too easy. I like to keep it a challenge. Although, I DO get frustrated with the computer's answer to my kicking its butt. Like taking my high value QB and having his throws occasionally and mysteriously go NO WHERE NEAR the WR I was throwing to.

The worst with that was playing the NFL Blitz games. Anytime you were up by two TD, you'd either get intercepted or fumble the ball.

Same with Madden. Shut outs are not so easy to come by. I've had to convince myself that the opposition is going to get their "token" TD 99 out of 100 times.

I usually don't turn the ball over, but at a certain point my defense can't stop anything.

Alright, I think my story's worse now. First off, keep in mind that I'm playing with the default clock settings (5:00 quarters), so a regular game takes me about an hour to complete.

So, I'm the Ravens in my franchise mode, and I'm undefeated and I have a big Week 10 home matchup against the Colts. The first time I play it, I struggle and I'm down 21-3 most of the game because I can't move the ball, but then I come back to win 24-21 in the second half. As I'm feeling kinda good about myself, the Skill Results screen pops up for my Madden IQ like it always does at the very end of each game, and I regress from 792 to something ridiculous like 777. I'm kinda pissed, but I'm like, "Whatever, I'd rather not replay the game..."

...and then my game freezes on the Skill Results screen.

So I'm like, "OK, maybe I'll redeem myself in the next game. I'll just replay it." So I reboot my PS3, and I struggle again, except it's a low-scoring game that I come back to win 17-13 after swapping leads in the 4th quarter. I'm feeling SO GOOD about this comeback, and my Madden IQ actually stayed put at 792 (with some shifts in passing offense and passing defense that balance each other out so that my IQ otherwise stayed the same). I do the same thing and try to go back to the menu so I can save...

...and it freezes again on the same screen.

I'm starting to think it's 'cause I tried playing back-to-back, so I shut off my PS3 and I picked up the controller again just now. An hour later, I play the best game I've ever played, winning 34-3 and actually hitting a PERFECT 800 Madden IQ. I'm ECSTATIC...

...until I find out, the game's frozen again.

I basically wasted three hours of my life, on a game that I could never win.

I think this is a sign telling me that the Ravens are never to beat the Colts again in Baltimore. At least not when I'm playing...

Yeah I have had that same problem. I may be leading by 2 TDs and all of a sudden the computer catches me. I have had games where I could be leading by 3 scores and the opposing team score, than get a couple onside kicks and all of a sudden instead of a blowout it only a 3 or 4 point difference in the final. But I don't know if I built the perfect defense or what, but I have been having a lot shut outs lately in my franchise with the Ravens.

Yeah I have been playing on Pro Difficulty for a while. I'll probably move it to All-Pro next time I play.

My Goal is 100% All Madden. I'm almost there with O Pass on 17, O Run on 19, D Pass on 17 and D Run on 19 (max is 20 across the board). I just bumped the two 17's up from 16 last night with no significant drop off in my performance so I may move up again (Still between 777 and 800 in skill level).

My biggest issue is that if I go any higher on O Pass ability then NONE of my WR's will be open and even their Punter picks me off. lol. So, I'm taking baby steps in learning how to beat the computer at ITS best.

Not perfect rating. I'm back and forth with that too. I mean all my difficulty settings maxed out at 20 in All Madden.
