I may make some changes prior to the draft here and there but as of today (3/13/09) here's my mock draft:

Updated: 3/26/09

1. Detriot: Matthew Stafford-QB-Georgia
The Lions need a face and more importantly somebody to build around. They have a fairly young O-line that they've been working on for quite a while which is why I think they'll go for the best QB available instead of pulling a Tackle or Center. Matthew Stafford is no doubt the best looking QB prospect out there for a reason, he's got a great arm, big frame and he has good eyes for reading plays. His speed and accuracy can be something to work on throughout training camps and several seasons.

2. Saint Louis: Jason Smith-OT-Baylor
Lets just put it out there, he's the best tackle of his class. After releasing Orlando Pace after 10 years they've not only acquired Jason Brown but are looking to possibly make their line one of the best in their conference which can be achieved through Jason Smith. This pick will be the key to the Rams success when they have the ball.

3. Kansas City: New Pick: Aaron Curry-LB-Wake Forest Previous Pick:Everette Brown-DE/LB-Florida State
It takes a lot of talent both physical and mental for a DE to play LB in a 3-4 defense and Everette Brown has a lot of physical talent for a DE sometimes he looks more like a LB than a DE with his remarkable speed he put up in the combine. Then you have the hard hitting ability which could make him a key playmaker in the Kansas City defense next to newly signed Mike Vrabel

Aaron Curry is going to be, and needs to be higher up. I don't know why I put Everette Brown first, luckily everyone caught it!

4. Seattle: Michael Crabtree-WR-Texas Tech
How many big plays offensive have you seen the seahawks make this season that you can name off the top of your head? Not very many. Although they signed T.J from the bengals it's hard to see them pass up Crabtree as a long term asset for a tackle. Drafting Crabtree could lead to a very deadly combination in the NFC west. Which makes one wonder why would they sign T.J other than big-play abilities, they probably foresaw T.J taking Crabtree under his wing.

5. Cleveland: Brian Orakpo-DE-Texas
I don't think Cleveland is going to go into the draft looking for a leader in their defense because a rookie LB cannot go into a defense that, void of any skilled veterans and expect him to take charge from day one. So they'll go with the next best position and slowly build around the LB before placing somebody in. Brian Orakpo is a consistent, hard hitting, physical OLB and he is the best choice for Cleveland.

6. Cincinnati: Andre Smith-OT-Alabama
After picking up L.Coles from the Jets I think the Bengals aren

I am going to try my best to critique this draft.

Aaron Curry to the Chiefs is a near-lock because KC needs to have someone in the middle and if they are looking for pass-rush (they should, of course, ranking last in the league with 10 sacks) , they should go to Brian Orakpo who is much bigger and stronger than Everrett Brown (listing at 6'1 didn't help either)

After making many mistakes throughout the draft process, Andre Smith lowered his draft stock tremendously,
and Eugene Monroe is a much better all-around player to boot.

Michael Bennett has little chance to be drafted mine as well the first

St. Clair is a tackle and the Bears are in need of a DE more than a DT

I don't agree with a lot of your other picks but there is a good chance DHB could be a Raven. If that does happen, I will be happy but I really hope he puts in the work to develop his skills as a receiver.

sorry...but no chance at all curry falls out of the top 5. if he falls out of the top 3, i'd be very surprised. he deserves to be the #1 pick, but detroit won't do it

11. Buffalo: Aaron Curry- OLB- Wake Forest
The Bills need to focus on their defense. Aaron Curry would bring their pass rushing up as it was one of the worst in the leagues last year. They also have a guard issue but I think they will look to resolve that in the rounds to come. Aaron Curry looks very promising as a defensive playmaker.
Aaron Curry will be the first defensive player off the board. Bank on it... maybe even #1 overall... his combine/proday was amazing, not to mention the year he had plus his size/speed combo.. he would look so good in purple in black.

I agree with you guys, I don't know why I put Everette Brown up at #3

I'm going to switch up Aaron Curry and then Everette Brown to the Bills. Thanks for the feedback!
