They get more gift calls than any team I've ever seen. I mean, look at the superbowl against the seahawks...damn.
Uhm.... new fan question: what exactly happened?

I understand where you are coming from but lets not let reality slip away from us. I think we can beat them but they havent lost on MNF at home in something like 14 games. There is a reason for that. Why set yourself up for failure? Could we be the ones to break that streak? Sure we could but given the odds, I'd really rather not find out.

thats kool and all, but isn't the season opener on thursday night?

You know I'm starting to change my opinion on this...

I think we should play them. It is a risky move to be sure, but what better way is there to stick it to them? If we don't show up it will look like we're scared- like three lousy games did us in and we don't have confidence anymore.
Football is a rough sport and someone on our team is going to get injured at some point so why not make it count? Even if we have to have the first several games on the road, why tremble? Everyone has to at someone point; we've won on the road in playoffs, we can do it again the regular season too. How can we even talk about beating the Colts if we're not even willing to play in Pissburgh? We have the opportunity to show them that their 6 rings don't mean they can own the division. We can show them that their easy schedule means nothing when they have to play us twice.

Let's not have the "You can't lose if you don't play" mentality. We can take them anytime, anywhere!

If we don't open at home, then we can't play at home until Week 3 because of the Orioles schedule.

Yes.

Ben got credit for a touchdown when the ball didn't break the line and a wide variety of BS calls. I think the hawks got nailed for a few holding calls when replay showed nothing remotely similar to holding, and they wound up killing drives that were going pretty good otherwise.

It was just a garbage, sloppy game that Pittsburgh won when they clearly shouldn't have.

So? I don't feel like repeating myself, but look at my post above.

That stinks. You know how the NFL is so careful about every deal that's made and every contract that is signed- they should scrutinize the refs just as carefully.

im tired of this honestly........the only call that could be questioned was bens td

the pass interference in the endzone was a good call(which is one of the commonly stated "bad calls")

and also no one talks about the colts game where we had to two interceptions stolen from us.....

we deserved to be there....we won three really hard games

and its not our fault the seahawks were not good enough to capatalize on the fact that ben choked

If the refs had called the game properly, the Steelers would have lost. The Steelers get as many gift calls as the Patriots or Colts do, maybe more now. If it wasn't for Tomlin, I'd hate them more than the Packers or Bears.

With all due respect...

In SB 40:
Willie Parker had a 75 yd run, that the refs didn't affect.
Randle-El threw a 50 yd pass to Ward that the refs didn't affect.
Seattle won by 10... so what about these two TDs?

The call on Roethlisberger's TD was wrong, but it was only 2nd down... at the 1.

Ravens fans shouldn't act like Seahawk fans. You don't gloat when you win, or make excuses when you lose. Holmgren & Hassleback still whine...

Even in the 2nd Steeler game this year, when the HIGHLY questionable call went to Holmes, Ray Lewis didn't whine - he said that the Ravens shouldn't have let the Steelers drive 90 yards to be in the position TO win.

That's why he is so respected around the NFL - he has class when he loses or wins. Unlike Seattle...

I hope this report isnt true because it makes our team look pretty cowardice. We should be more than willing to play them on their turf during primetime. There is no reason not too! That is basically like accepting defeat. Just dont understand the logic in this....

Not really. It's just not really fair to make a team play a division opponent in a night game 3 years in a row. If they want to make a game between the Ravens and Steelers on Sunday or Monday night, then it's clearly the Ravens turn to host it. Has nothing to do with "being scared," it's just about equal opportunity!

They can have a MNF at pittsburgh every year I dont care. We will play just as hard and I think opening up the season there will spark this rivalry even more.

I agree. I couldent care less if we played the Steelers first or not, but I was complaining about that this past year. Seems like FOREVER that we hosted Pitts in Balt on a night game.
