The Ravens Requested No Prime-time Game In Pitts

149 posts in this topic

I love Chris Johnson, but I hate Cortland Finnigan. I hope Hines Ward lays that dude out, and then gets suspended due to the new rules the league will put in place t protect players. Hahahahaha.

glad to see the NFL granted us to not play the Steelers opening day to kick off the 2009 NFL season. it'll be a double header weekend... pitting the superbowl Champs, versus the Tennessee Titans, along with the Sunday Night Special.... Green Bay Packers versus Chicago Bears!

looking forward to those match ups and i think this also allows our team THAT much more time for the team to gel together and become more of a "unit" both on and off the football field, and this time (hopefully) our Bye week wont be played with due to certain circumstances beyond anyones control haha. We've proven to everyone that we are battled tested and can win down the stretch..... (17-18 games without a break) now lets see what we can REALLY do with a break in the middle of it all!

they're not scared, we want a level playing ground.....
let me put this in perspective for you

some guy decides he wants to fight you..... you know its unavoidable, but you have the ability to select somewhat of the grounds

theres the choice of right after school in front of everyone.... (keep in mind, this kid is like the most popular kid in school and has waay more friends than you)

or you could do it in a slightly less populated area, where everyone won't see it

(also, this kid has never lost a fight at the school in front of everyone, and rarely fights on your terms)

what would you choose?

honestly

take that and multiply it by 5 and u got what its like to play the steelers (at their home) during primetime

edit: (inserted the (at their home))

Creative analogy, but I respectfully disagree. I say we can take them anytime anywhere.

i respectively agree.... but i would rather not take a risk at throwing away our season over 1 game (again we usually don't finish well after 0-1) if we play them in week two or three it will be nice :P

don't get me wrong i do have faith in my team, and i won't leave over a losing season, and well to your statement we will beat them... just not on opening night.... this year :)

fur real.... what dose it matter anyway; we know we will get primetime games cuz we went to the freakin afc champ game, and we know were gonna play the steelers twice(if the nation is really that intrested in this matchup they can go to a sportsbar). The only dif i see is were doing things on our terms

week 2 might be best chance because they would have just gotten off a huge physical game.... that is actually the one i'd rather play at their house cause than we have a higher chance at success granted its early in the season

(sorry i tend to think like a strategist, and a key part for me is being able to "fight" on your terms, and you can't always do that so take advantage of your surroundings/timing)

     Well, well, well...the Ravens have finally admitted to the whole NFL what we here in SIXburgh have known all along - you're all a bunch of whining crybabies! How mortifying it must be to have your team admit that it's scared to play another team! Any other team would accept their schedule from the NFL and use the next SIX months to prepare! And here, reading the posts of all you "fans" (?), you already know you're going to lose. What a bunch of wussies! No matter how many times you beg for a postponement, you WILL have to come here and play the Six-Time World Champion Pittsburgh Steelers eventually. Hey, since the league is taking requests, maybe you can request to change your uniforms to include little purple skirts!

its just a shame the ravens weasled out of the season opener, would have been a better game than the one we will get from the titans....

but anyways, i still say the ravens will have to go to heinz on a sunday/monday night...to the victor go the spoils, and that is the steelers

Hmmm. You would think that after beating us three times last year, we wouldn't even be on the Steelers fans' radars, but, what do you know, here they are on our board. Shows that even after those three wins, they have some concerns about playing the Ravens - enough to hover around these boards to see what we have up our sleeves. Bet they aren't hanging around the Brown's boards.

Interesting. Very interesting.

Of course, the fact that they are showing that they have no class is neither interesting nor surprising.

what by stating the obvious is showing no class? guess the truth hurts a little

i guess its bad enough that we beat the ravens, they must not want the whole nation to able to see it either

How much does the Steelers PAY to have us play them at Heinz Field every year on prime time? They scared to come into a hostle M&T bank on prime time? Its a little unfair aint it?

I dont think it's a matter of being scurred, it's a matter of being tired of getting hosed. How is 4 straight primetime games at Heinz Field fair?

Thanks for joining to make one comment....first off, how long did it take pittsburgh to get to 6? just wondering.......(4 of them were from the 70's - when they were all roided up) second, why should the ravens have to go to heainz field every year for a primetime game. we should get one in baltimore against them. it's not a matter of thinking we're gonna lose, quite the contrary....we want to humiliate the squealers in front of our own fans on primetime....

either way though, watch out for the purple and black!!

Baltimore wish list...

1. No prime-time games in Pittsburgh (Can't handle the spotlight)

2. No games in Pittsburgh (Can't handle the crowd)

3. No games against Pittsburgh (Can't handle the team)

Perhaps they should concentrate more on getting 11 guys to man up against another 11 guys instead of whining so much.

If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

This must be really embarrassing to the team to have this leak out.

isn't funny how so many steeler fans come in to talk all this crap as soon as they see a forum with the name "steeler" in it??go through the people who have made comments talking crap about the ravens....look to see how many of them just joined the forum, just so they can get their 2 cents in, that we as raven fans don't even care about. it's one thing if you steeler fans want to put in insightful conversation, but to join the forum just so you can talk crap.....honestly, i think steeler fans are a little worried about next year...which is why they are coming into our forums...

HAHA - i think the big thing that you forgot to mention is that you as steeler fans are worried to come to baltimore for primetime. you always want the NFL to bow down to you.......

Nah, they just pay em, Refs and anyone who makes the schedule. How many Primetime games do the Steelers play outside of Hienz field? Not many at all..

doesn't mean that everyone was doing them - - and doesn't mean that it still isn't considered cheating - - what do you have to say to defend santonio holmes?? let me guess - his weed was for medicinal purposes, right??

We just didn't want to spoil spitsburg's little ring ring dance at hieny field. It would've been ashame to loose to a rival on your celebration night. Cause that's what we do... ask Dallas.

I'd rather play at Hieny first and home later in the yr when it could be a deciding game anyway's.

But I guess the F.O. feels like we get the short end of the stick as far as primetime games go.

Oh how sweet it would've been though to ruin the party!

I actually meant the other poster, but... whatever.
You actually gave us some credit by saying a game vs the Ravens would be better television than a game vs the Titans, so you get props for that.
i guess its bad enough that we beat the ravens, they must not want the whole nation to able to see it either
They already did, at least two of the games. Win or lose, it's not a secret; the whole nation will know about it. What do I care if it's nationally televised? We just want what is fair: to once be the team hosting the nationally televised game vs the Steelers. And, yeah, Ravens vs Steelers = good games.

Yep, my point exactly. We have everything to gain, and they have everything to lose.
