The Ravens Requested No Prime-time Game In Pitts
im tired of this honestly........the only call that could be questioned was bens td

the pass interference in the endzone was a good call(which is one of the commonly stated "bad calls")

and also no one talks about the colts game where we had to two interceptions stolen from us.....

we deserved to be there....we won three really hard games

and its not our fault the seahawks were not good enough to capatalize on the fact that ben choked

If the refs had called the game properly, the Steelers would have lost. The Steelers get as many gift calls as the Patriots or Colts do, maybe more now. If it wasn't for Tomlin, I'd hate them more than the Packers or Bears.

I like home games early in the season before the weather turns cold.

With all due respect...

In SB 40:
Willie Parker had a 75 yd run, that the refs didn't affect.
Randle-El threw a 50 yd pass to Ward that the refs didn't affect.
Seattle won by 10... so what about these two TDs?

The call on Roethlisberger's TD was wrong, but it was only 2nd down... at the 1.

Ravens fans shouldn't act like Seahawk fans. You don't gloat when you win, or make excuses when you lose. Holmgren & Hassleback still whine...

Even in the 2nd Steeler game this year, when the HIGHLY questionable call went to Holmes, Ray Lewis didn't whine - he said that the Ravens shouldn't have let the Steelers drive 90 yards to be in the position TO win.

That's why he is so respected around the NFL - he has class when he loses or wins. Unlike Seattle...

I hope this report isnt true because it makes our team look pretty cowardice. We should be more than willing to play them on their turf during primetime. There is no reason not too! That is basically like accepting defeat. Just dont understand the logic in this....

Not really. It's just not really fair to make a team play a division opponent in a night game 3 years in a row. If they want to make a game between the Ravens and Steelers on Sunday or Monday night, then it's clearly the Ravens turn to host it. Has nothing to do with "being scared," it's just about equal opportunity!

They can have a MNF at pittsburgh every year I dont care. We will play just as hard and I think opening up the season there will spark this rivalry even more.

I agree. I couldent care less if we played the Steelers first or not, but I was complaining about that this past year. Seems like FOREVER that we hosted Pitts in Balt on a night game.

why's it such a big deal, historically we don't do well with a first loss, i don't see how it makes us look like a coward, if fighting/playing smart is cowardly than i guess i'm a huge coward, also stated when was the last time they played in baltimore @ prime time?

as much as i hate the steelers, i say give them their day, you wouldn't pick a fight with a kid at his party, why would you want to do it w/ the steelers at their ring ceramony, plus i think the titans steelers opener has a little more ring to it

titans stomp on steelers tear rag
baltimore beats the titans in playoffs removing a rematch for them in AFC Champ game (<----- glad the ravens did it too)
one of 2 things can happen now

steelers can get their revenge on them on opening night

or the titans can "figuratively" stomp on the "franchise" again

Edit: Not the Ravens fan/ forum poster TheFranchise

Steelers fans are the only people who actually care about that incident. I'd venture to say that no one else in the league would prefer to see Tennessee/Pittsburgh over Baltimore/Pittsburgh.

Don't forget that Steelers fans really do have enough people to populate a small nation. Who knows, the Titans fans might actually like to play them, and it's obvious that the Raven people would rather have someone else do it. If a Titans@Pittsburgh game just isn't tantalizing enough though, the Steelers do have another sworn rival.

The Steelers have plenty of sworn rivals. The Browns, Raiders and Cowboys for starters. None of those match ups really have the opening night draw of the Ravens currently though. Even though we requested it, I would be surprised if the we do not start the season in Pittsburgh. I don't think the league is required to hold teams hands and honor all scheduling requests that come in.

ur right about that, but the FO has a good arguement on that we ALWAYS go to pittsburgh for primetime, why not invite them to our house to ... "play"

Well I think alot of teams have beef with the Cowboys, but can they really be considered a sworn rival when they play in the NFC? This is actually the first I've heard of a Steelers/Raiders rivalry, but with a team like that I'm not surprised they have alot of enemies (hey, that's football). I had the Browns in mind because we all know losing a homecoming game in Ketchup field isn't exactly going to affect their SB chances.

Lol I can't say Browns Superball chances without smiling. :)

The Steelers played the Raiders in three straight AFC Championship games in the 70's, winning two of the three games. It was a very real and brutal rivalry. They have also played the Cowboys in 3 Super Bowls, again winning two of the three games.

And yes, the poor old Brownies are in a sad state. If the NFL/AFL merger had been a decade or two sooner everyone would be chasing Browns' Super Bowl records for another century or two. Otto Graham and the crew made it to 10 straight Championship games, winning 7 of them.

Here is a Post Gazette Article that is about half info regarding the Ravens/Steelers rivalry and half Steelers/Raiders-Oilers-Cowboys rivalries.

Yeah, I'm old but I like to respect where the game has come from as well as where it is going.

i'm seeing this thing being pretty big on espn.com in james walkers blog.... why is it such a big deal, reasons that we don't want to do it is we don't get a chance at a home game due to orioles schedule til the 2nd quarter of the season (i think)..... when was the last time they played us in our house during primetime, we would like some equality...... and why risk going 0-1 we historically don't do well after it, but then again the 0-1 was in the billick era i mean we did snap back from a 3 game losing streak this year so who knows

It's decided: Titans @ Steelers.

Post-Gazette

I hope Harrison tears off Lendale Whites limbs and tosses them into the stands.

I'd rather have the game in December then September. Maybe have some snow showers during the game and it be like five degrees. Now that would be a game to watch

I think it's just this season opener that they're announcing and maybe the Hall of Fame game (a/k/a preseason opener).

They won't announce full schedules (including primetime games) until maybe next week or so, because the NFL Network and ESPN would have special shows planned for the official announcement.
