JO_75's Mock Draft 3.0

Note: This has been updated through the Buffalo signing of Terrell Owens, Ravens' signing of LJ Smith. Mock Draft 4.0 will have Trades included.

1. Detroit Lions- Jason Smith OT- Taking a QB here is very much likely, but in order for that QB to do well, you need to protect him. I look at the Lions to rebuild the offensive line with the first overall pick. I think they can wait a year with Culpepper under center.

2. St. Louis Rams- Eugene Monroe OT- Andre Smith would have been the pick here, but when you show up at the combine overweight and not ready, your draft stock will drop. With Jason Brown under Center, they continue to improve their O-line.

3. Kansas City Chiefs- Michael Crabtree WR-With Matt Cassel in at QB, the Chiefs look to give him a weapon to prove he is not a one year fluke. This could workout as a long term QB-WR passing tandem if everything goes well.

4. Seattle Seahawks- Everette Brown DE - Seahawks sign TJ Houshmandzadeh to fill the need at WR. They could still draft Crabtree if he is there but with Crabtree gone, Brown is the pick to give Seattle some help on defense

5. Cleveland Browns- Aaron Curry OLB- Where to start? Defense. They get lucky to be able to grab Curry here at # 5. Thankfully the Lions needed an offensive line. Cleveland looks to improve a terrible defense in the tough AFC North. The Browns have a lot of work to do.

6. Cincinnati Bengals- Michael Oher OT- Bengals upgrade their O-line with Oher. They were hoping Crabtree fell to them but with no prevail they give Carson Palmer some protection.

7. Oakland Raiders- Jeremy Maclin WR- Andre Smith ruined his chances of going to Oakland at 7 due to the combine and his Pro Day. The Raiders give Russell a receiver to work with. The Raider can do something this year and win possibly 8 or 9 games this year and Maclin is just another key part in place for the Raiders.

8. Jacksonville Jaguars- Matthew Stafford QB- This is the first shocker of day 1; Stafford gets drafted by the Jaguars. I

No way Chiefs get Crabtree; they just signed Bobby Engram and Terrace Copper. They also already have Dwayne Bowe, so they're set at WR. Patriots have enough depth at CB, they def aren't drafting a CB first; they already have Springs, Bodden, and Hobbs; look for them to pick up a linebacker in the first.

And Sean Smith with Washigton? Really? Not only is that too high, but Washington's secondary is already in place with Smoot, Hall, Landry, and Horton. I don't understand some of ur picks at all to be honest...

man, there's actually a few things I have a problem with

1. I think QB goes first and you can find out why by looking at my mock draft
2. no way Crabtree goes to KC, 20ReedsAll hit the nail on the head with his explenation
3. Everrette Brown to Seattle? even if the seahawks were interested in a pass rusher, wouldn't it be Orakpo?
4. Andre Smith is a better prospect than Michael Oher, and should be taken before him
5. Either Smith or Oher is a better pick for Green Bay than malcom Jenkins, but that could happen
6. Stafford will be gone, so they should go O or D line. Help in the secondary is out of the question with the quality O and D lineman still avaliable.
7. I don't really understand the Washington pick...
8. I know the ravens are supposed to be going BPA, but with the signing of LJ Smith, don't you think drafting Pettigrew would be pushing it? Three tight ends on one team that Could/have been starters on plenty of different teams, all on one squad?

Well since you want an explanation..... tell me which picks you don't agree with and I'll explain but for now I'll explain what you have written.

Chiefs- I gave the Chiefs Crabtree because they don't have WRs. Ok they did sign Engram but he is in the 30's. Cooper, well I haven't heard of him. Bowe?? He is not a # 1 WR. Plus, my main thinking was well Arizona. Todd Haley, the new HC, came from Arizona where he had Fitzgerald and Boldin, in KC he has nothing. So, he goes out and grabs a new # 1 WR. Besides with the current crop of Wrs, Cassel goes from the Franchise QB to just plain terrible because he don't have a Moss type reciever and Crabtree fits that.

Washington- Yes, I understand that is too high, but again there will always be suprises in the draft. A player will go higher than expected and a high rated player will go lower than expected. Plus I couldn't really find anyone besides Smith for Washington to take. If you or anyone else could help me with finding a player who would make sense than tell me. Also, if we learned anything from what happens to the Ravens, you can never have enough CBs on the team.

Any other pick you want to ask me about go ahead................... and I'll explain.

Not really. We had Shannon Sharpe when we drafted Todd Heap. Sure Sharpe was basically done his career after that, but look at what we have now. Heap, who is at the end of his career, and Pettigrew can be groomed to be a # 1 TE. Plus I was taking account that Pettigrew is also a GREAT blocking TE which helps us with possibily Neal retiring.

Now I'm not going to explain myself with the Chiefs, I already explained that. Ok I will plain and simple, Todd Haley is coming from Arizona where he had Fitzgerald and Boldin, well guess what, in KC they have nothing. Cassel goes from hero to zero if they don't get Crabtree.

Andre Smith- He may be better than Oher, but Oher wasn't the one who came to the combine not ready and followed up with a terrible Pro Day.

Ok, I saw your point about a QB but hey Stafford becomes David Carr recarnated if they don't give him an O-line. So no matter who the QB is in Detroit they need an offensive line other wise someone becomes the next David Carr.

Seattle, Brown over Orkapo, yeah that is questionable but hey like I said, some players go higher than they are suppose to and some players go lower than suppose to. I took that into consideration with Seattle's and Washingtons picks to kind of give it a SUPRISE! I was trying to give this mock draft a suprise feeling to it and not go with the obvious picks. That's what happens in the real draft.

P.S. I forgot to change out the Saints pick, and I'll do that right now.
Worst mock draft I've seen u have some of the worst picks I've ever seen
Jeez, everyone is a critic!!!!!! Haven't you guys seen how the draft works. There will be the SUPRISE PICKS, every year there is a Suprise pick. There are players who fall, and players who all of a sudden get drafted ahead of where they were suppose to go. I took that into consideration like I said and the fact that I am trying to get away from the obvious picks. Plus I already have explained some of the picks. Besides 4.0 is going to see a huge shake up. I am shaking up 4.0 big time. Now looking over this draft I can see that I made some mistakes with my picks, and I can't figure out why I even put that player where they are. So I'm shaking up my next draft and hopefully it will make sense.

P.S. Can you guys explain why the Chiefs wouldn't grab Crabtree? They traded to get their franchise QB, I see the WR's on the team and go Cassel goes from hero to zero. Why wouldn't a team want to give their new QB or any QB that matter a weapon like Crabtree. I mean I wouldn't feel comfortable sitting in KC looking at the current Wrs and go we can win this year. I go they need a # 1 reciever.

WHAT!?!?!?

his rookie season he posted aroun 70 receptions and around 990 yards, I don't know how many TDs (this is all off the top of my head) he is defenitly a number one type of guy. and the chiefs have some young recievers like Devard Darling Kevin Robinson and Will Franklin

Bowe is a big physical over the middle type of guy yes they may not have a deep threat right away but they definatly will go defense first its necessary or they will go 0-16 its crazy to suspect that if aaron curry is there he's gone that's possibly the most obvious pick in the draft
