I can, and that's why the Pats have arguably one of the best FO's in all of sports... wow, Peppers for a measly 2nd Round pick. Not measly, but considering what he's probably worth...

Peppers is very good, but a 2nd rounder, that you have to pay $14 million this year?

If they negotiate, Peppers may want Haynesworth-type money... I wouldn't be interested, if I was GM.

I read that the pats were going to make Peppers one of the highest paid defensive players in the league regardless of what Haynesworth got.

He also stated that he wanted to be move to outside linebacker, so that may change things for the highest paid DE.

These "big name" sackers and their huge contracts aren't worth it. Haynesworth has 24 sacks in 7 years - yeah, he's a run stopper, but 3 sacks a year isn't worth $100 million. Peppers averages 10 sacks/yr, but he's well below Merriman & Ware's 13/yr, and Harrison's 12/yr. If NE gives him a Haynesworth type contract, they're going to regret it.

New England usually knows what they're doing and will probably give him a higher contract something like Adalius Thomas.

This doesn't really surprise me at all. The Pats were obviously one of the 4-5 teams in the market for him based on his trade desires. And when they shipped Vrabel to KC, I thought it might be to pave the way for a Peppers trade. Peppers is going to be amazing in NE when Belichick signals in the upcoming plays and audibles. Well unless it is a run at him. Oohhh I said it.

Its probably easier to deny the trade until it's complete than to answer questions about it that you don't have the answers to quite yet.
My Question is this. Why is Carolina contiously denying the trade?
Teams are forbidden from negotiating trades for players who haven't signed their Franchise Tag offers - and Peppers, who is Franchised, hasn't signed the tendered offer.

Legally, Carolina can't talk with the media - or with NE - about trading Peppers.
