Which College Team?

15 posts in this topic

Okay so im from the UK and chose the Ravens as my NFL team because of their defensive, hard hitting identity. I want to know what college team i should be supporting if i support the Ravens...i guess the geographical choice is the Maryland Terrapins right? The thing is i kinda love the Ohio State Buckeyes, is this forbidden because of the whole Ravens moving from Cleveland, OH thing?
Also chuck in some other teams for me to follow in other sports like B'ball and ice hockey (baseball is the Orioles right?) Cheers!

Well what college team you support doesn't have to be related to the Ravens. But if you really like Willis,Ray,Reed then you should cheer for the Miami Hurricanes

Yep...the Orioles are Baltimore's team (I call them the blo's because they suck...hopefully this year they prove me wrong). Nothing wrong with liking the Buckeyes...not forbidden at all. I think you may have it backwards...some Clevelanders may frown at anyone supporting a MD/Baltimore team...not the other way around.

I lived in the Miami area for a few years. So the Marlins are my adopted NL team. And I got into the Heat (NBA) during their championship run...bandwagon maybe, but it was pretty cool to be in such a large city that year. Hockey I do not follow.

Now Rugby is a sport I can dig! I assume that, coming from the UK, you are a fan. I like the Springboks. Only because when I played that was the mascot of our team. Hard to follow over here though...no one carries games.

Yeah obviously Rugby is pretty big over here. I played for a few years in secondary school which to you is...err i dont know actually, when i was bout 12-15 i played. It's a good sport, i prefer American football though which im just getting the opportunity to play now. What position did you play? I always used to be kinda small but had good hands, so i got put at scrum half. Thanks for the info too!

I played just about every position in the forwards except 8 man and hooker. I was best at prop (tighthead...like my name). I played a little flanker, then second row...then got older, slower and fatter so they moved me to prop. I LOVED prop and wish I had been playing that the whole time.

I don't think there is any angst towards the Buckeyes, but generally the team to root for in the MD area is the Terps.

I hate VT, especially the coach. And the area and the fans are rednecks.
