De/dt Evander Hood

Evander Hood, DT
Height:6'3"
Weight:300
College:Missouri
40-Yard Dash:4.91
Bench press:34

When hes on the guy looks like Warren Sapp and could be a good successor to Pryce at DE. Hes also probably the quickest DT in the draft, has powerful hands and doesnt get tied up in blocks. Thoughts?

Hood is a great athlete. I like his attitude and work ethic. I came across a page that listed all the prospects and which teams interviewed them at the senior bowl. It said that Evander Hood was in fact interviewed by Baltimore. (I think it was a link off of WalterFootball.com, I searched for it but couldn't find it). The site did note that each team probably had time to interview everyone, but still noted Evander Hood and a few other players received interest from Baltimore.
After practices, the positional coaches and scouts go around interviewing players. This doesn't mean they really love a player, but they just want to get a better feel for them. Remember, hundreds of interviews are being conducted every day at the hotel, and it wouldn't shock me if every team tries to interview every player. Are some teams targeting certain positions over others? Here is the list of my record of which teams interviewed which players:

Cleveland: Troy Kropog, Chip Vaughn, Fili Moala, Michael Hamlin, Arian Foster, Peria Jerry, Derek Pegues, Arian Foster, Tyrone Greene, William Beatty, Marcus Freeman, Louis Delmas, Tim Jamison, Ty McKenzie, Brian Robiskie

Kansas City: Max Unger, Nathan Brown, Rey Maualuga

New England: Clay Matthews, Moise Fokou

Tampa Bay: Phil Loadholt, Ramses Barden, Clay Matthews

San Diego: Arian Foster, Robert Ayers, Peria Jerry, Shawn Nelson, Quan Cosby

Baltimore: Ramses Barden, Evander Hood, Fili Moala, Arian Foster, Corvey Irvin

NY Giants: Scott McKillop

New Orleans: Thomas Morstead, Pat McAfee, Will Davis, Derrick Williams, Connor Barwin, John Phillips, Louis Delmas

Minnesota: Will Davis

Oakland: Thomas Morstead, Brian Robiskie

Washington: Clay Matthews, Patrick Chung

Cincinnati: Darius Butler

Dallas: Graham Harrell, Kory Sheets

Atlanta: Fili Moala

Houston: Robert Ayers
those "interview" things are posted when a scout is observed talking to a player after a practice in mobile. a lot of scouts use that time to ask a quick question or two, and set up a private interview for later.

don't get it wrong. the scouts talk to almost every player.

I really like him for one reason, he sheds well. Strength and quickness is all good but we have enough bullrushers, we need guys that can split double teams and shed before the HB can hit the LOS.

Alternatively you could save money by buying his jersey.
