Defense or Offense   68 members have voted

 1. 1. Would you rather have a better offense, and let our D get weaker, or vice versa?

Offense can win you games and it looks good at the time and on some scoreboards, But defense wins championships. Pittsburgh won it because of defense, Giants did, Indy the year before that got to the playoffs because of offense, but made it to the superbowl and won it because there defense stiffend up big time. It goes on and on.

Defense is the name of the game in Baltimore. Offense is just a bonus, we only need a good QB to succeed. Imagine if we had Flacco back in 2000 to now, anyone else think we would have at least another SB ring?
No, cause Billick would cut him so he could get Boller.
Your wrong the colts won the superbowl in 06 with a high power offense and just like deffense if you have a top 5 offense you can still win a superbowl.
The colts made it to the superbowl with a high powered offense?? Wrong! Bob sanders came back and they found a rush defense, thats what got them to the superbowl. The colts have a high powered offense every year but their defense sucks so they are one and done every year, the one year their defense steps up in the playoffs they make it to the superbowl. DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS!

Ok but what got them to the playoffs i think there offense did and there offense is what gets them to the playoffs every year . Unlike us who have deffense and make the playoffs every other year .

Defense most definitely.
The mantra 'defense wins championships' is repeated ad nauseum for a reason. Several reasons infact.
Firstly, it's been proven to be true.
Secondly, big time game are won in the winter, where the weather conditions aren't favourable for aerial attacks. That's why the key to winning has always been a strong run game, a stout defense, and a smart quarterback.
Thirdly, it's easier to maintain a consistent defense because parts can be interchanged more easily, as chemistry is less important. One player going down come playoff time can send an offensive team off the rails, whereas a defensive team is more likely to maintain it's success with a backup at a position.

Im not sure I understand the question...

If you mean letting our top flight defensive players go, sign big name offensive players. Changeing the game plan to be high risk high reward offensive football with less regard for the art of defense, then I would disagree with that and go with defense being more important....

If you mean that I am happy with the current defensive scheme and mentality and look to further the offense via Free Agency and the early rounds of the draft, I will agree with that. Dont change the defense, but do give the Offense some more TLC!

Defense man.

A pick six makes 2 redzone FGs much easier to live with.

Besides. How can you not love seeing Ed Reed take almost any ball he got all the way to the end zone.
It also doesnt matter who has they ball. When you see the Ravens defense with the ball what goes through your head?

something like

TOUCH DOWN RRRRRRRAAAAVEEEEEEEEENNNNNNSSSSS

don't mean to sound like a troll here, but why would we have to give up on one for the other, i'd say go with both, but if i had to choose i'd have to get back at you after this next season (gotta see how good mattison is) if mattison is as good or better than ryan then i'd probably say D, scratch that i'm gonna say D with an explosive offense (i.e. one that can come out of no where) i don't want to be the team where we stopped the opposing team from scoring 10 points.... and still lost
