We lost key players on defense his offseason. We also picked one up. I too am sick and tired of seeing us kick a field goal in the red zone. But I will never be tired of watching a pick six. Which would you rather have, a better offense, while our defense gets weaker, or vice versa?

I would rather have an unstoppable defense, because I love seeing D on the field, and am kind of used to seeing a sucky offense.

I've grown to love defensive football like you too, but at the same time, the NFL is now an offensive-oriented league. And at the end of the day, the game is about scoring points. Even though the Ravens have proven that you can win a championship without a potent offense, the offense still has to be good enough to keep up with offensive powerhouses for those rare shoot-outs.

Plus, the object of the game is to score touchdowns. Granted, you could argue it the other way around, but with the emphasis placed on scoring by the league and the media, I'd much rather have a dangerous offense than a stifling defense.

It has been said before, but Defense wins championships. However, a solid offense is key for some sort of balance and to let the D rest when needed. I want nothing more then to have our offense flourish and turn into a machine like that of Indy or New England, with a healthy Brady, but not at the expense of losing our trademark. Defense is what Bmore is about and it should never change.

i AGREE with you , and deffense is great and all but got to score points to win and the offense is the side that gets paid to do so . I rather have and unstopable offense and top 10 deffense cause you can light up the score board and your deffense wont give it up.

The only way I'd change my stance is if the defense itself is literally unstoppable and creates turnovers that go for TDs on the regular. But, we haven't seen that since the 2000 Ravens, and even that defensive unit didn't always score enough defensive touchdowns to win games.

I would personally take defense - this is the Ravens identity for a start. Also high scoring/production offenses dont always mean wins for a franchise. Look at the Saints, they always lit up the scoreboard and Brees had over 5000 yards, but couldnt even break .500 (i think, they were 8-8 right?). Having a great defense will always give you a great shot of winning...often you only need your offense to produce one TD to secure a victory.

Defense, good returns, and good kickers are keys to winning. I would love to see an explosive offense, but it would be too weird, like kissing your best friend.

What is your best friend is a beautiful woman and very much hot?

I would love to keep the dominating defense but also have a Offense that can take advantage of every scoring opportunity

We are a defensive town, it feels good to hear and see that everyone wants to be like the Ravens D and teams fear playing us because of our Defense. We have always have had top 10 really top 5 defense..
So if we can keep a top 10 D and just a average offense, i would be happy. We dont need a superstar offense..just give me average and we will still win a couple more superbowls.

So Top 5 D and 15-20 Offense and we will be alright.

You guys have lost too much on D to try and just build Offence. Some WR's wouldn't hurt though eh boys :P

And maybe even another ILB. Laurinitis beside Ray Ray?

I think the Ravens will continue having a top defense, and their offense with unibrow is only going to get better. The future is pretty bright, imo.

If the Vikings had a quarterback, we could make some noise, however....Rosencoptor and T-Jack aren't going to pull a safety out of the box, which means more tough, tough, tough yards for AD and Chester.

You can word it that way or you can say the object of winning a game is to Prevent touchdowns. A good defense is just as important as a good offense. I prefer Defense, tho.

Gotta agree:

To answer the question: Defense. Our "D" is the history of our team and i would not change that for anything. Also having a better "D" has its advantages. Take Ind colts for example. They had a terrific offense. They can put up alot of points, but they would also give up some points. There "D" is not all that good. ( dont get me wrong, they have gotton alot better. I was thinking a few years back when they could not tackle to save their lives. They were a poor defense)

Now, take a team with a Great "D" - Players are scared to come play them. They know no matter what happens that they are going to get hit, knocked around and turn the ball over. Knowing you are going to go and play a Great, Physcial defense has more of a mental burden on a team then a good offense, which can very easily make a "great" offense "good" or even worse.

So say a team was going to go play Indie and then Baltimore. I would really believe that that team, would rather play Indie and lose by a team that puts up alot of points, but is not very good or physcial on "D", Rather then play Baltimore where there know they are going to be hit the whole game and hit hard and from every where ( somtimes they know the hit is comming, but dont even know where it is comming from) and the outcome could go anway.

High Power offenses dont win anything, look at the last few years of superbowl winners only the Rams "greatest show on turf" won a superbowl and even they had a defense. Pat, Ravens, Steelers, Bucs and Giants all won with defense. When the Pats had a high powered offense they lost the Superbowl.

If they cant score they cant win.

Transversely, if you cant score you cant win either.

Of the two I would prefer a strong D

As nice as it is to see our D take the opponent's Offense 3 and out, it's also frustrating to our offense go 3 and out as well. I'd like to see a better offense and I look forward to next season.

Defense!!! If it ain't broke don't fix it. I'd rather keep the defense mentality and (if the offense is really terrible) let special teams take care of the scoring

I love the defense but there is nothing more frustrating than watching promising drives come to a halt. I can live with corners getting burnt and missed assignments but the NFL has set up rules which definitely favor the offense.

Your wrong the colts won the superbowl in 06 with a high power offense and just like deffense if you have a top 5 offense you can still win a superbowl.

There's a couple ways of putting it, you cant win of you cant score, you cant score against us so you cant win. Offense can win you games and it looks good at the time and on some scoreboards, But defense wins championships. Pittsburgh won it because of defense, Giants did, Indy the year before that got to the playoffs because of offense, but made it to the superbowl and won it because there defense stiffend up big time. It goes on and on.

Defense is the name of the game in Baltimore. Offense is just a bonus, we only need a good QB to succeed. Imagine if we had Flacco back in 2000 to now, anyone else think we would have at least another SB ring?

There defense stepped up BIG time in the Playoffs. Even when they played us. they scored 15 points.. and still beat us. There run defense was horrable that season, They allowed like 160 ish yards a game on the ground, and in the playoffs they allowed something freakish like 60 yards a game?
They would have never made it if there defense wouldent have stuffed our run, and then they took away our short passing game.
