Wow. Thank you IQ.

Hmmm, it is strange that Marcus Smith changed to #13 from his previous #81, which is also worn by Torry Holt. Also, according to rotoworld Holt is in the last year of his contract, scheduled to make 10.2 mil this year, that can easliy be brought down by extending his contract. Maybe a trade is in the works...

Get it done Oz!

Holt/Mason/Heap/Clayton/3 headed monster......How you gonna defend that? :D
I didn't even take the time to read past the 1st 2 sentences cause obviously you have no clue what you're talking about. If you think for one second the Jets are a team to sleep on next year you're foolish.

Their defense is gonna be sick. But it's cute tho that you tried to put up an argument for why you think otherwise. I would respond more thoughtfully, but, I don't feel like wasting my time.

The numerous amount of times I've been right on this message board is ridiculous. I'm like the football Nastradamus up in this BIA. Don't believe me, go back to June and read my posts about the 08 season b4 it started. Take my word on it: The Jets will be a top 10 defense in both the run and pass for the 09 season.

I'm the guy that said the Titans would win their division and that their defense would be no joke this year...b4 training camp. I even predicted the Ravens to go 11-5. Not to Brag or anything B)
get a grip things you predicted a blind man could of saw it coming peyton injure jags always been overrated and the raven perdiction was just wishful thinking there d will not be top 10 cuz there players arent half as good as what he had in bmore so i think ur crystal ball just got foggy cuz ur way off on this one jack n the ravens d will finish in top 10 just like always so u can sink on the jets ship with rex n the overrated players he took with him cuz he has to deal with bray n the pats n they cant beat thim or can u perdict otherwise cuz our record will be better then jets n we will be back in playoffs while rex n bart are home wishing they would of stayed

Why would we want Troy Smith after what Flacco has done? I wonder if there would be a stupider decision in the history of professional sports worldwide.

Harbaugh - "Joe, I realize that you just threw for 3,500 yards and took our team to the AFC Championship Game in your first year, but it's time for us to move in a different direction. I'm sorry."

Flacco - "wtff?"

I understand I came off extremely cocky in this entire thread, which was my intent bcuz I just felt like being cocky this weekend, so live with it  Plus, you gotta let the bad boy swing every once and awhile. I also understand why everyone is rushing to Shadowwalker's defense bcuz I did seem a lil dikish towards him, but again...i was in a cocky mood. It was just one of those days.

And if a blind man could have seen what 3/4ths of Baltimore didn't last year, well...he's either a drunk or a really good guesser. If I recall everyone was calling for a 4-12 season. I'll give you the Titans prediction but It had nothing to do with the Colts or manning's injury and everything to do with the free agents they picked up and how great they played toward the end of last year.

Back on subject. Last year the Jets defense finished 16th. This year they've upgraded by bringing in Rex; by the way if I'm sinking on the Jets ship dare I say that you think Rex Ryan is overrated? They've upgraded at LB by bringing in Bart Scott, and we all know he's got game. They've upgrade at safety with Jimmy boy, and we all know he has game. They've upgrade at CB depth with Lito Sheppard, who will most likely be their starting CB while Law moves inside. So why are you so confident they won't be a top 10 defense?

Now it's time for a fun fact....Did you know: Terrel Suggs was pretty raw as a pass rusher his rookie year, oh and by the way, guess who they assigned to coach him in year 2, YUP! Rex Ryan...and how did that turn out? Now here's the mystery question: Hmmmm, I wonder who will be coaching Gholston in his 2nd year??

I've been saying for awhile now that Bouman is a very valuable third option as he was essentially best friends with Joe last year which probably helped the maturation process.

Troy Smith has no game exp either really, Go ahead and count His god awful 2 starts 2 years ago.. Truth is everyone has to start at that level, no one knew much about Flacco, and accually alot of draft analyts had Flacco as the 5th or 6th QB to be taken last year, see how that turned out..

I would like to keep Smith as a backup if possable, but if the Jets, or anyother team makes a trade for Him, ( 4th round choice or better IMO ) then Troy DESERVES it. If Ryan wants to bring Him in as there starter that would be great news. Just like Cassell getting traded this year, KC wants Him to start, why pay talant to sit on the bench, there's not enough elite or even good QB's to go around even half of the league.

No this is my apology: Sorry, didn't mean to pissed you off.

I wasn't trying to doubt you're creditability I was doubting the logic behind the whole thing. But I hope it does happen. I hope Holt is a Raven this year. Holt and Mason would be sick.

I think Trading Troy would be a monumental mistake. Especially when he becomes a star in this league and we would have had him for years to come as our BACK UP. Lets put that scenario on a scale x10.

Can you imagine if Brady was Manning's back up? Plz re-read what I just said^^^

But if we did trade him bcuz we were able to get a veteran back up like Leftwhich or Garcia, the draft picks we would receive from the trade would be excellent trade leverage to maneuver higher up in the 1st to select a more high quality player.

I'd take Troy Smith in a heartbeat if Flacco went down, but only as a fill-in until Joe got healthy.

I just find it funny that people are so high on Troy when he was obviously looked down upon by scouts even though he got a ridiculous amount of exposure in college. There is a reason why Smith went so late, you know.

Go to 2:30 in this video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2UYSmbU-zo . Keep in mind that Sal was talking about Joe after our three game slide, and was still optimistic about his future.

I was absolutely outraged when Suggs said that crap about Joe, and most other people here just blew it off and/or supported benching Flacco. At that juncture in the season, it looked like we were on our way to another 6-10 season, and guys like Ogden, Suggs and Reed had the nerve to question Harbaugh's decision to name Flacco as the starter.

It's comical that coaches, scouts, general managers, journalists and analysts alike dismiss Troy as a backup, but fans and defensive players like him because he was a good quarterback at OSU, and dinked and dumped successfully in his two starts against reserves in 2007.

Sizzle, Ray, Ed and the rest of the defense were obviously friends with Troy. I mean, Flacco is a 24 year old white dude who has absolutely nothing in common with egocentrics like Suggs and Ray. That being said, even though if you're not friends with the guy, don't have the audacity to promote Troy publicly when he had just come back from his injury and Joe was going through a rough patch.

Did Heap come out and openly ask for Suggs to be benched after Sizzle sat out training camp because he wanted more money? Furthermore, Suggs was coming off of a down season in 2007, and even struggled early on in 2008. Give me a break.

I dont see how Lito Sheppard and Jim Leonard are going to upgrade this passing defense much better than the 29th they were last year. You would think the way everyone on this message board talks about Jim Leonard that he was a hall of famer or something. How many safeties have been successful in our system? ALOT. Lito was 4th on the depth chart by the end of the season wasn't he? Ty Law will have to be wheeled out in his rascal before game time. I just dont see how a team under a brand new defensive system and the minor upgrades they have made are going to make this team a top 10 defense. You also said that if they draft Tyson Jackson that will make them a TOP 5 defense. Come on man, you think a rookie defensive end in a 3-4 is going to make that big of an impact on a defense?

Well considering their starting safety and their startnig CB went down last year for nearly half the season, and they lost their "premier" pass rusher Vernon Gholston for most of the year, yeah I do think they will improve drastically in 09 simply bcuz of the upgraded defensive schemes and personnel Rex has already brought to the team..

So you say Gholston is a premier pass rusher in the NFL even though he has never started in a NFL game and never recorded a sack. My point is that Jim Leonard and Lito Sheppard are not these great players like you are leading on. They are both AVERAGE players at their positions and IMO are not so good that they can turn around a passing defense that was horrid last year. The fact that the Eagles gave him up for a 5th round (and a conditional) should tell you something.

Just like Fabian Washington and Frank Walker were ''average players" for our 2nd ranked passing defense last year. Which, Jim Leonhard was also apart of... And yes I do believe that if given the right coaching, Vernon Gholston has all the tools needed to eventually (if he's not already) become the Jet's premier pass rusher.

I am not knocking him. I dont know what he will be, and neither do you. The difference between the Brady/Bledsoe is Joe is going into his 2nd year as a starter. Bledsoe was never anything special, and had been in the league for 8 years when he got hurt and Brady took over.

You're right, if Joe flacco has a potential career ending injury week one like Brady did last year, we'll be A-okay with a rookie draft pick as our back up for the rest of the season. Good Call! Lets make that Troy Trade happen asap so we can waste a draft pick on another late round QB.

Fabian and Walker have alot of talent around them to help them succeed. Who is the Ray Lewis and Ed reed of the Jets? You ,being a Ravens fan, should know the history of players when they leave Baltimore. There are too many if's on the Jets defense for them to be top 5 IMO. I just dont see what they did do upgrade their secondary that much over what it was.
