I just wanted to get everbodys opinion on this. Does anybody besides myself feel like Willis Mcgahee and Ray Rice could be one of those dangerous tandems like Fred Taylor and Maurice jones-drew?

I agree. He filled in great, and should still be used in short yardage situations. But, he's not a starter, and McGahee is a great starting running back.

whats wrong with being a FB? He rushed for 900+ yards, pretty good for a FB.

Yeah, that's ridiculous that you don't like him because he took starts. If he took starts from YOU, then it would make sense, but you're not Willis, are you?

I would like Willis to come into camp healthy and ready to go. I think if he comes back healthy and shows no ill effects of that nasty hit, then he could definately have a big season.

Ray Rice just needs to get stronger and focus on his catching more. He had a couple huge drops with wide out space last season. I think he will be a very dangerous weapon for Cam.

For me it will be interesting to see how these guys respond to year 2 in Cam's system. The oline should be more familar and better, the backs should be more comfortable running behind them, and Joe should be better finding just other options and mismatches.

Alot of times last season this offense just didn't seem to get into sync until the end half. I think that had a lot to do with the fact that we had a lot of new players and they all were learning the system.

I expect the Ravens to be rather explosive this year, and as hard as it may be for some to beleive this, i think the Ravens offense will win us a lot of games this year.

Any Defense is good when playing with a lead, but the Ravens defense has proven to be great in that situation

with sugar n rice back there 100% our running game is going to be dominate behind our oline who will be one of the best units in the game with the pickup of matt birk the sky is the limt for sugar n rice we need a deep threat for joe cuz our playaction pass is going to be unstoppable

Yeah I always felt like anytime it was 3rd and 1 Mcclain was automatic in those situations, but he's not fast like McGahee is.

 So you are not a Ravens fan, you are a McGahee fan..like Anita Marks..good for you. Maybe Le'Ron wouldn't have stolen so much of Willis' limelight if Willis had performed better.

I honestly beleive that Mcghee was injuried alot last year. I am hoping that this comming year he goes all off season and preseason with no injuries. If he sustaines no injuries durning off season and preseason and still preforms like he did this year , than i think its time to start looking at a new featured back. I would honestly chalk MOST ( please notice the MOST in bolds ) of last years preformance to injuries for Mcghee.

Just because McGahee is the big money back, doesnt make him the starter. He struggled last year and McClain did the job. The starter should be the guy who can help the team most, not the big name back.

No chance Willis plays another 16 game season in his career. he's a liability. if i were you guys i would have cut this guy by now and grabbed someone like ward before he went off the market

I think they could definitely do what Mighty Mouse and Fred Taylor did in 2007. I'm really looking forward to seeing Rice in a more expanded role. He is the complete package and despite his size, he's still pretty tough to bring down.

This is poppycock! Our OC said things like "I like him as a RB" and "He has great feet" (are the ravens revolutionizing a new hybrid the FB/RB? I like the TE/G idea with Chester)plus willis came in off of surgery and in a diffrent physical state than usual. it took him some time to get back into form but he pulled through when we needed him the most(thanks for those 2 touches in the AFC champ game Willis w/o them my night would have really sucked). It would be best to look at mcclain for what he really is..... a running back that blocks really well. sorta a ravens Bettis. Next year though i am looking for willis to come in healthy and strong and comfortable with his physical status. I still think we run the three of our guys (i gives cam cam three diffrent skill sets for diffrent situations) but as far as majority of snaps goes this year, willis will be set this year because he wont have a slow start (I hope) B)

From what I've seen, the Ravens are in possession of an ideal situation at running back. Three different backs with three different skill sets, all (most likely) capable of being a feature back.

Utilizing all three is going to provide fresh legs down the stretch, difficulty for opposing defensive coordinator schemes, and an injury insurance policy. No need to rush a runner back into the lineup until he's REALLY ready to go, because you'll have two capable backs alternating carries in his absence.

The general trend in the NFL now is to utilize this "back by committee" approach, and currently the Ravens are sitting quite pretty.

As a Vikings fan, the Ravens are probably my largest concern and also the most interesting match-up, as the strength of our defense is the run stopping, whereas the Ravens have an offense predicated on battering defenses with a variety of rushing attacks. It's going to be pretty epic in the trenches!

I'm pretty sure no coach comes here looking for information or players.
