Terrel Owens Just Cut!

196 posts in this topic
that article mad sense and all not forget ray lewis loves TO and thinks hes a great freakin person i think he could keep him in check. Plus not to forget he is the reciver we never had and need . A big fast deep threat. Getting him i think we will win the superbowl.
Exactly. I'm not a huge T.O. fan, but i feel like, like james said, that baltimore was so close to getting to the superbowl (i saw them lose it in person!), and having him (kept in check by lewis) could be the key part we are missing. I think it's worth the short-term risk.

I know a lot of people here don't like Mike Preston, but I like the idea he brought up: BaltimoreSun.com
If I were Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome, I'd get in a bidding war with another team for the services of former Dallas wide receiver Terrell Owens. I'd drive up the market, and then offer T.O. the highest contract.

After the other teams dropped out, I'd pull the contract off the table at the last minute just like Owens did to the Ravens years ago, leaving the big mouth Owens with nowhere to go. You know what they say, "Payback is a bear."
HAHA. Like the idea.
Yeah i'll admit i usually don't agree with preston, at all, but that's something I wouldn't mind seeing if we got into a bidding war (although i kinda want him to).

T.O is a toxin. This thread is really starting to reveal the people who are willing to sell this team's dignity and long-term stability for a shot at a Super bowl over the next 2 years.

We aren't going to bring T.O here, because thankfully the people in our FO do not consist of the people who post on this forum.

Btw I laughed at that Ozzie Newsome "quote", whether it's true or not.

I'd rather pick up Torry Holt from the Rams. Just wait it out because I think they will release him since I don't really see other teams interested in his services and the Rams wont get their trade.

Franchise, as good as pulling the mat out from under T.O.s feet would make me feel it is not good buisness sense and would hurt when it comes to attracting players in the future.

I just watched the Birk press conference on BR.com and at the end they asked Ozzie about TO and Ozzie basically said "no comment" because officially TO hadn't been released at that point. That was weird. Ten minutes before that he said that "we're not done yet" and that we'd bring in more players and improve this roster. Maybe we'll give TO a call, who knows.

I am getting sick of this saga already. NFL Live is spending their entire 30 minutes on the air talking about this.

Everyone forgets about how we had him and he didn't want to play here. I never hated him until then. You can say it was because boller sucks and we had no passing game. But he just dissed us and went to phily. No T.O here please. Draft a good WR. We don't need that cap punishment when we can get a rookie cheaper than what T.O is looking for. I'd like to have a little room next year for ngata
where do you think he will end up? Do you want him here?

Pretty insane
He was in Philly when Harbaugh was there, so John knows first hand what a diabolically dreadful move it would be. I don't remember a whole lot of stink comming from TO this year in Dallas actually. Maybe he's finally chilled out at the age of 35. However, ESPN claimed that Garrett the OC and Romo were the one's who said to cut him. That speaks volumes right there. I wouldn't sell my soul or risk messing up Flacco's psyche for TO.
TO might take you on a path to the Superbowl, but he'll throw a wrench in the gears just enough to keep the Lombardi trophy out of reach.

You must be a real souless immoral Crypt Keeper lookin jerk to sign Owens.
He'll be in Oakland by Monday afternoon. HAHA!!

I have no idea where he will end up, I would think a team such as the Lions with lots of salary cap and not many wins but then again why would TO want to go with them?

I dont think the Ravens will pick him up thou, I mean he destroys the team he goes to every single time. I dont think John Harbaugh will want him on the team and you can tell by the interviews with Joe

he doesnt want him in Bmore either (he is just being "politically correct" )

I just saw on Yahoo!.com the list of Teams that don't want T.O, and we are one of them.

i dont understand why we wouldnt want TO. half the league doesnt want him and hes only going to go to a contender with a good QB. and since not many people want him we probly could get him at a decent price. i doubt hed cause any problems with us.
1) Flacco's a good QB who can get him the ball and he doesnt have the superstar status that would clash with TO.(ex. romo, mcnabb, garcia)
2) Our offense doesnt have any superstars or egos that would make TO jealous.
3) I really do think Ray would be able to keep TO in check and under control. i cant think of anyone on the cowboys who TO was really close to.
4) I think playing in baltimore would help since we dont get anywhere near as much media attention as dallas and theres less pressure to succeed.

i just dont think we have as much factors as dallas that can lead to TO blowing up and should be fine until his retirement or until were done with him. you cant deny his on field success.

I really believe Ray would turn T.O. into a diff person. He needs someone he respects to shove it down his throat. Plus I Think he spreads the fieldddd Extremely well with 9 ft strides. Physcial speciment that just needs to be tamed.

Don't pay any attention to that list. There are no "league sources", they're just quoting some beat writers a la Mike Preston and those guys have no credibility. Watch what Ozzie said during the press conference today regarding TO.

i agree and plus ray thinks TOs a great person so i think they would get along great and ray wont let anyone come to this team and take over! So as long as TO doesnt think he's above the team he's great cause hes a great football player. So i think this could and can work.

He has caused problems with every other team he has been on, I see no reason to think he'd suddenly be an angel if he came to Baltimore. Saying no one wants him and he'd be cheap is a little premature imho.
1) Flacco's a good QB who can get him the ball and he doesnt have the superstar status that would clash with TO.(ex. romo, mcnabb, garcia)
Yeah no one's wacko for flacco, he hasn't made any big records in the nfl, he's probably just going to be another average qb...Come on! Joe's a diamond in the rough, he's going to be a star and why should he have to deal with a whiny attention hog in his locker room?
2) Our offense doesnt have any superstars or egos that would make TO jealous.
I think some Steeler said it best: "We (Steelers and Ravens) are bullies; we're loud, mean, smashmouth kind of teams." (Or something to that effect) And he's right, there are some seriously powerful personalities in Baltimore that certainly could clash with TO. Also every single team has its superstar, someone who is used to getting the ball most of the time (Like Mason and Clayton) and making alot of tds. (often Heap) From what I've heard of this guy, I don't htink he'd have any problem finding someone to pick a bone with.
3) I really do think Ray would be able to keep TO in check and under control. i cant think of anyone on the cowboys who TO was really close to.
4) I think playing in baltimore would help since we dont get anywhere near as much media attention as dallas and theres less pressure to succeed.
Though I have heard Ray has sung TO's praises, I have to disagree with you on one point: If a whiny, drama queen, cowgirl comes to Baltimore, then you can bet the media will follow at his heels.

I'm not even going to waste time addressing the "less pressure to succeed."

Its because rays our leader and you honestly think ray's going to let someone come to this team and take over . Ray beeing the leader won't stand for it. Also ray and TO are friends i guess hell make him by into our team system. And if we put him on a 1 year deal and if he doesn't by into he will just be gone the next year. CANT HURT TO TRY!

T.O. is a talented football player. With that said he is also a cancer to the sport of football and has no place in Baltimore I would rathersee us sign Hellan Keller for 100 million befor T.O. 1st he would ruion Joe as a young Q.B he needs support from his recieving core like Mason and Heap provide. The locker room would be a shambles Ray can only do so much. Finally he is old his stats over the last three years have have been on a down slope. Oh ya again we have Mason who is better than T.O. in my opinon and also and more importantly is a TEAM Player who already mentors he's junior WR and supports his QB not bash him on T.V. So NO T.O. B)
