Terrel Owens Just Cut!

196 posts in this topic

It was just announced on sports center. Sorry no link, but turn on ESPN. They will most likely be talking about it all night. Any chance he winds up in Baltimore? I know he almost came here a few years ago...

I never would have thought Jerry Jones would release him. That surprises me. Where do you think he'll end up? Oakland? I know they always take guys like that...

what if he ends up with the Patriots? That would be crazy and I am pretty sure they have the cap space too!

He'll end up with a receiver-needy team, but also one that's willing to take on headaches. That means Oakland or Jacksonville or *gulp* Cincinnati...

this is dumb IMO
It gives them a huge cap hit and now they cant do anything the rest of FA and wont be able to resign D-ware
Dallas = run by idiots lol

If T.O. comes to Baltimore, it'll be one signing I know I'll have trouble getting behind. I juts can't bring myself to do it.

I'm surprised too, but

1) No, don't want him here
2) He's already past his prime, and will be like 35 when the season starts, so not exactly worried about him even if he does go to a division rival

we most likely won't even have enough cap room to sign him. But I would like to see ray lewis punch him in the mouth if he came here and decided to mouth off to him. I can see it now. BAM! Right to the eye.

That'd be the only scenario in which I'd like to see T.O. in the Ravens locker room. Just to get punched in the mouth by Ray Lewis.

But, we can see that on Sundays anyway.

I do not like Terrell Owens, however if we can pick him up for 2-3 years and not overpay it's worth the investment. T.O.'s behavior will not be a factor on the Ravens. John Harbough and Ray Lewis will never stand for it. I really feel like because of his age and what he's been through coming to the Ravens will humble him. We are in competition for the Super Bowl next year and if we add a dominant receiver like Owens it is over. Look what he did when he played in Philly. All the nonsense in Dallas last year was blamed on him and I'm sure that there was more to it than his actions. Romo is a diva, Wade is a clown and Jones is one of the worst owners in the NFL. I feel like Flacco and T.O. could turn into a Brady/Moss scenario. All the guy does is catch TD passes and we are in dire need for a redzone target.

Everyone says that, but I'd rather not gamble on it. Randy Moss was one thing, but to have another miracle in Terrell Owens being "rehabilitated" and turned into a decent guy on a new team? Not likely to happen, regardless of how much every player respects Ray Lewis.

Ray hasn't actually put pen to paper yet on a contract, but let's not speak of such things...the possibility depresses and scares me...

Cincy, full of dramma queens as well... I mean We sign one of them with clauses in contract that says any of the Bull and their contract is done... I mean TO is a GOOOD player and same with Johnson....

As the man himself once said, "When you get TO, you get TO." So we would get one year where he is "Mr Team player" just as Philly and Dallas did. Then he would start crying in the second season about not getting the ball enough, and throw Flacco under the bus at some point. I don't want him here, he is trouble, plain and simple.

Cinci would probably love him though....

There is not another player in the NFL that is like Ray Lewis. He is at another level, a true general. He runs ***. Just ask Suggs.

Ray Lewis is only a general because the other GROWN men around him, allow him to be. If a guy doesnt want to follow his leadership, he wont. Its that simple. These are GROWN men.

How many malcontents/distractions have the Ravens taken in that Ray Lewis has changed?

We only say that there is not another player more respected than Ray Lewis because of all the interviews where Ray and other players will talk about how they go to him for advice. That's it. Just because he's the Godfather of the NFL doesn't mean there aren't those who could care less about his status. Terrell Owens is probably one of them.

Remember "I love me some ME"??...

People make too big of a deal about his personality. I don't care that he throws fits when he doesn't get the ball. He wants to compete and win. I don't mind a guy with his passion and work ethic. I think his physical dominance and route running would put our team over the top. He draws double coverage all game long. Think about what that does for heap across the middle or a screen to Rice? Mason is always open, imagine the season he would have with T.O. there. Plus he's going to be playing with a huge chip on his shoulder.

i just thought about it & might not be a bad idea to get him because if he is our #1 wr mason is # 2 & clayton in the slot that would be great. plus if he came here we have a coach who would make him change his act & him & ray would get along because he wanted ray on the cowboys & ray already said he could play with him
