According to Adam Schefter laveranues Coles signed with the Bengals. Doesnt mean much to me, and I dont think they improved any on the loss of TJ.

It's a good signing, just need Palmer to get healthy and this duo could be pretty tough

Well, so much for being happy that T.J. went to Seattle. If Coles can stay healthy, this is a very good signing by them. Fortunatly for us this could turn into a situation similar to Stallworth in Cleveland.

Not a very good signing for the long hall, and for the long hall I'm talking for the season after the next one.

"haul"

Doesnt mean anything when Palmer is going to be on his behind all the time. At least T.J could take a hit, Coles is going to cry when he gets lit up.

It's not as good as Palmer to TJ...

Ocho, Coles, Henry, and the two rookies (caldwell and simpson) as WR's will make Carson Palmer a happy man. Coles numbers are comparable to Ocho's. Coles could be a good #1 WR, Tj is just a really good #2

Go Bengals!

Yeah, okay, try to convince yourself that...

TJ had 92 catches for 904 yards in '08 - mostly with Fitzpatrick throwing to him.
Coles had 70 catches for 850 yards - and Favre throwing to him.

The last 3 years:

TJ: 294 catches, 3128 yards, 25 TDs
LC:216 catches, 2594 yards, 19 TDs

Yeah, it's an upgrade you're happy with  :P

You mop what I'm spilling?

TJ got those numbers in single coverage. Coles did it being the number 1; so the double teams were on him. Also you have to remember Coles has had noodle arm throwing him the ball for the past XX amount of years. You will see how we light up your D next year.

:D :D :D

Jericho Cotchery is the "#2" receiver for the NYJ - he had more catches for more yards and more TDs than your #2 receiver last year...

Cotchery 71 catches, 858 yards, 5 TDs
Ocho Cinco 53 catches 540 yards, 4TDs

So why would Coles get double-teamed, and not TJ? Coles' 2nd receiver had better stats than the Bengals'.

Also, "noodle-armed"? Brett Favre, who broke his receivers' fingers, he threw so hard in GB?

You're probably talking about Chad Pennington - an effective passer. The 2nd highest rated passer in the NFL in '08.

Your points are invalid. IF Palmer comes back, healthy, next year, do you honestly think that your passing game will be better, substituting Coles for TJ? What kind of Bengals fan are you, to run down TJ Houshmandzadeh, who gave eight good years to your team?

And substituting Coles for TJ is going to "light up" the 2nd best pass D in the NFL last year? Your team had the 30th ranked passing offense last year, and Coles is going to turn that around?

Try to take some time before posting, get your thoughts together, it adds to their lucidity...

Woops, thanks for correcting me.

I wrote that while my teacher was constantly whining about her study "hall" duties

Did you watch the Jets play at all? Thats not true. Jericho Cotchery drew a ton of attention from defenses as well. And not every team double ups on one player. Derrick Mason is the Ravens ONLY recieving threat and very rarely did he get doubled. The same is true for Coles, except he wasnt the Jets only recieving threat. Coles could be shut down with good one on one coverage. He doesnt require a double team. But whatever makes you guys sleep at night. Just like thinking Ben Utech was going to solve all the Bengals problems at TE.
