"Stop being stubborn accept the fact that he's good if he wasn't we wouldn't be talking about him"

No, I'm talking about it to try and show delusional Laura fans like you that he is in no way shape, or form, worthy of a first round pick and you can't just alter the Raven's defense to your liking to fit your illogical fascination with a mediocre player. He cannot play a 3-4 he is not a Ravens type player, and the Ravens do not need a LB in the first round. Why doesn't this register in people's minds? This isn't an opinion, its facts that the Castle is well aware of. Laura will never be a Raven, thank God.

He seems to disappear in big games. All I saw him do in two national championships and a huge game against USC was rag-dolled by lineman and make the odd tackle.
He would be taking over for a Pro Bowl LB.

Why should we draft an ILB in round 1 when there are guys just as talented in rounds 2-5?

If we needed a LB bad enough we could take Jasper Brinkley in round 4 or 5. But we don't bcuz we're already loaded at that position.
Im not saying we need to draft a linebacker in the first couple rounds this year, Goodens play this year beside Ray will ultimately determine that (if Gooden is the guy who steps in). All im saying is that people are just all over Laurinaitis that he wont fit this system and some are even saying hes not a good player. I cant get over those statements because the seem so inane, how can a guy whos just a good football player whos smart enough to know what the O is trying to do against him, can drop back in coverage alot better than Scott possibly be bad? Yes Scott was a 1 time pro bowler but he replaced Lewis in 06 and yes Bart was a great player here but it wasnt his job to make the plays, nor would it be Laurinaitis job right away I find it hard to believe he couldnt replace Scotts role here.

He is a good player, but thats within his limitations. He simply cant take on o-linemen like Scott does.

yeah know one can play from a 4-3 to a 3-4. wait we have some one on our team who already did Ray. I'm not comparing just saying and yes Miami runs a 4-3 heres the site http://ezinearticles.com/?Defensive-Line-i...&id=1986961.

ITS NOT.

Its not even debatable, it is what it is. Laura can't hold Ray's jock in terms of talent, motor, or leadership. He disappears against any good team, beats up on cupcakes, and has a famous daddy. He cannot play in a 3-4 and the Ravens don't want him, I bet he doesn't have a red star thats for sure.

I've seen Laura play in person against top competition and be a total non-factor. Have you?
I have friends going in this NFL draft that have told me how over-rated he is. Do you?

Well i'l tell you what I dont have and thats a big head. what makes your opinions so much better than mine, what makes them facts? Just because you dont like him. I have stats on him that says he's one of the most decorated defensive players in colledge history yet you say hes horrible. Scouts have him as the number 1 ILB over-rated or not. I can understand that you dont want him on the ravens but dont sit there and say hes not good. I think its good people say hes not livin to the hype. means he might go out and prove you wrong

Scouts pick busts every year, and they differ on opinions.

Wether he could thrive in a hybrid 3-4 or not is irrelevant. Right now the gametape and signs point to no. We wont be taking him if hes there at 26.

ok then who would you rather have at ILB Iknow Maualuga but hes nowhere near as smart as Laurainitus which is why i think Laurainitus is over him and does USC run a 3-4?

I apologize I'm not trying to belittle you or put you down, I don't hate you I hate Laura. Guys in the draft have said how much of a diva he is, how he takes plays off when his team isn't doing well and how easy it is to stop him. Now hearing that from players who I know will go to the NFL and loving the Ravens like I do I don't want this guy on our team when there are much better players that could be there at 26. I'm not saying he won't make it in the NFL, he could if he finds the right system but the Ravens dynamic 3-4 is not the right place and both sides would suffer if he was chosen.

Thats debatable, both have superior read and react instincts compared to the rest of the draft class. Laura has better technique and does better in coverage but Maualuga is stronger and better at the point of attack.

USC runs both the 43 and the 34 but i like REy way more than little animal
Maualuga is the guy we need, we need a thumper next to gooden and ray, Maualuga gives us that

Laurintus is crap and garbages and cant shed blocks to save his life, Maualuga attacks blocks, beats them and makes plays, he is always around the ball, getting INTS or sacks, the gy is a monster and will hopefully be a raven next year as he is falling down boards, we could very well get him

Remember tho, on the Ravens, Ray is the field general and usually calls out what the offense is going to do anyway, directing traffic on the LB corps and if we had to take a LB to replace Scott's block shedding ability and stuff the middle then its gotta be Mauluga. I would be more for this move if he hadn't started to look injury prone. Watching his game film tho its very clear who doesn't take plays off and who hits harder. Mauluga just destroys people and stops them in their tracks. Laura just kind of hangs onto people and pulls them down eventually lol

Be clear, I don't want either LB at 26 but if I had to pick one it would be Mauluga by a landslide.
well we dont have a first round talent at linebacker other than suggs and ray.
Do you think the patriots are complaining that they don't have first round talent at quarterback?

wasnt aware you could compare a QB to a LB. so I'll make mine. Greenbay, Favre = Ray. Rogers = first round pick. every great needs an apprentice

Just because someone isn't taken in the 1st round doesn't mean they can't turn out to be "1st round talent" - some of the best players to ever play the game weren't first round picks. Its not about comparing QB to LB its saying that where a player is drafted can often times be irrelevant. This "first round talent" linebacker you want is replacing a LB who was UNDRAFTED. Think about that.
how long did it take him to be good? I'm talking about starters from day 1
NO ONE comes into this league as a bonafide day 1 starter. They may start form day 1 but does that make them a quality starter? Every player takes time to adjust upon entering the league, the amount of time it takes form to be "good" differs...

Lauranitis and Mauluga, wherever they end up are not gonna be "good day 1 starters", period. Just like whoever we pick in the 1st round, whether it is Lauranitis, or a wideout, or a corner or whatever is not going to be a day 1starter, period.

Id have to disagree with that statement, after watching last years rookie class perform so well and alot of them from day1 (day 1 to me is week 1 to clear the air) so I dont think at pick 26 its demanding too much from a guy to step in and contribute .

My point was it makes no difference to us whether we have a good starter that was drafted in the 5th round and a good starter drafted in the 1st.
