Trade For Ocho Cinco?

46 posts in this topic

I remember last year he desperately wanted a trade. Although he's been quiet this year, it's obvious he still wants a trade, I just think the Houshmandzadah situation has overshadowed that. So maybe...

we could trade a second rouner for Ocho Cinco and maybe use our first rounder on the best offensive lineman available in the draft?

right there, our three biggest needs would have been covered:

WR-Ocho Cinco
CB-Foxworth
OL-best lineman avalaible in draft

what do you guys think? would hte bengals be willing for a second rounder? maybe that and a little more?

I actually really like this idea!
Should Ray stay, that should help persuade Ocho to come to Baltimore.

Sure would love to see this happen!!!

Cincy wants a first round pick if that...especially with TJ most likely bolting, they wont want to give up their biggest WR threat, even if its the whinny self-centered ocho-cinco

I'd be surprised to see teams in the same division trade with each other. "Hey Ravens, here's Ocho Cinco, now beat us twice this year after we turn your draft picks into busts..."

I think Ray would seriously throttle him down. That is if someone throttles Ray down a bit. lol

i would be down
i think we go LB(Rey Maualuga) or C(Max Unger) in the first
TE(Shawn Nelson) or C(Eric Wood) or LB(Brian Cushing/James Laurinaitis) in the second
WR(Ramses Barden) in the third
Depth for FB/TE/OL/WR/CB/DE/LB(Best player onn the board) in the fourth and fith
WR/KR(Nate Swift) in the sixth
DT/DE/OLB(Zach Potter)in the seventh

but if we trade just go unger in the first and give the second or possibly third in trade

Fine tell him he can never change his name from Chad Johnson, no endzone celebrations that make him and the team look like idiots, and no grills, and no whining while we are at it, and he's not allowed to do interviews that involve anything other than TEAM.

Believe me, I like Chad Johnson, and I don't think he's as big of a distraction as people make him out to be (he's not nearly on the Pacman Jones or Terrell Owens level, in my opinion), but I wouldn't take him unless he came at the right price.

For me, the right price is no more than a fourth-round pick, and he'd have to be willing to restructure his contract to take a pay cut. But we all know that won't happen.

Yes, kinda.
Plus Ocho has deep respect for Ray.

They would if it meant getting rid of him as a headache, and if it was a team they think he won't be able to succeed with. People still think we have no offense, so why not? Besides, Mike Brown is their owner; let's be serious here. lol.

In other words, tell him not to be Chad Johnson/Ocho Cinco... like that's gonna happen.

T.O. went from SF to Phil to Dallas, and has been the same problem-child everywhere he's gone.

Johnson isn't as bad, but team chemistry is hugely important to winning. The Ravens, with Ray Lewis, have had it. Johnson could damage it.

No thanks, I'd say.

It's probably not a good idea, but also it depends purely on what we have to give up and I would not want to give up anything better than a 4th rounder for him.

Since Whoseyomama's leaving, I doubt that the Bungals are going to get rid of Ocho-Cinco too and I do not think they would trade with us. But they have a past of not making smart business moves, so we'll see what happens.

You'd probably watch anyway. One player doesn't make a whole team, so you shouldn't let him ruin your football-watching.

Besides, there's other NFL players that are worth hating more than Chad Johnson. Insert-your-law-breaking-NFL-player-here.

Cinci will probably want a first round pick for him, but he is not worth it because he is getting old now. But he is still a great WR, his production decreased last year because he had a shoulder injury but chose to to not get the surgery and play the whole season plus palmer was injured.

If we had to give up a first rounder, it would only be worth it for someone like Boldin who is not as old, but the Cards would never trade him for the 26th overall pick.

People say ocho cinco causes problems but frankly the numbers he can bring is worth it and he is not as bad as people make him out to be, and i kinda feel for him too. He is tired of losing, thats his main problem. Hes been talking about it for years, and demanding trades that he wont get. You can't really blame him, he has one of the worst HCs in the league and the organization refuses to make changes to the roster or coaching staff. I dont think he will be traded here by a rival but i really hope the guy gets to play somewhere else. The years are going by and he is wasting his career there, at least Palmer is sort of young and you could say he has plenty of years to win something.

Also ocho cinco likes to talk smack when playing us but it was always in good fun, he was like best buds with c-mac and ray lewis, he has always had respect for how baltimore plays defense and i dont think he would be as bad here.

All those Ocho Cinco haters, are you kiddin me???

Yeah, he's an exciting personality and may do some touchdown celebrations, but how is that going to hurt our team? Have you ever heard of him ruining the Bengal's locker room? Guys like him around the league and our guys like him here. Don't just say he's a problem child just because ESPN tells you he is...

I like that idea but here are the 2 problems.

1: I highly doubt Cincy is going to take a 2 rounder after losing Hous. If they do take a 2nd rounder for Chad's caliber then alot of teams are going to be lining up for him.

2: I don't really know if the coaches want to go after veteran players on our offense. I think they would rather want a young offense to develop on rather than bringing in vets for quick fixes.

I don't know, IMO, if Kellen Winslow and Matt Cassel are worth second round picks, so is Chad Johnson.

And, last year the coaches brought in Both Willie Anderson and Lorenzo Neal, so I don't think their against signing veteran players.

not to mention ayanbadejo (32).. i think Chad would be more than a "quick fix".. Mason could easily play in the NFL til he was 37, that gives Chad a solid six years possibly and no ne can deny the fact that Chad is a high caliber WR
