Warner To Visit 49ers

9 posts in this topic

Kurt Warner is scheduled to visit the 49ers tomorrow. League sources claim the 9ers think they have a good shot of giving him what he wants to "steal" him away from the Cardinals.

I sure Hope so.. The 9ers are my number 2 team (Number 1 prior to 96). The 9ers have needed a qb since the Garcia left the bay area. Mad Mike is going to fix that team, I just know it!

Warner isnt the fix the 49ers need.. Surely, he'll win them more games, but i dont believe they'll make the playoffs even with him behind center.. By the time they get the rest of their team fixed, they'll need another quarterback..

I only partially agree. Though I think they should still pursue a long-term solution, it wouldn't hurt to bring in Kurt Warner to lead by example and show a young QB how to play the game at the pro level. Warner would be a nice stop-gap solution, and I think they can make the playoffs with him under center; the only problem would be when they play Arizona, since the Cards obviously know his tendencies.

The 9ers nearly beat the Cards at AZ, 49ers will contend this year even with Shaun Hill at the helm. I feel like he can be decent if he cuts the mistakes down and he is a tough S O B. IIRC he came from MD.

One of my best friends is a huge 49ers fan and he is insistant that they are going to be the Ravens of the 2009 season. He is excited about possibly getting Warner but thinks Hill has what it takes. I tend to agree on the Hill front. He was almost benched through I believe it was Singletary's first or second game as head coach and I read a quote from him saying he saw in Hill's eyes that he really wanted to play and wanted the win so he left him in. and low and behold they won...I think Singletary sees something in Hill and I think its worth giving him another shot at starting from the beginning of the season, and not making him clean up the mess JT O'Sullivan made half way through.
