I agree. If they go with a left tackle with #2, (which I think they should), they could get a resurgence out of S-Jax.
They have absolutely no defense, though. The Rams are like the Colts in that they continue to build offensively instead of shoring up the defense. They're like our complete opposites, and that mantra "defense wins championships" doesn't always hold true as both the Colts and Rams won titles eventually. As long as you're much superior to the opposition in one facet, you stand a good chance of competing.
Even though there has been a lot of anger directed at Ray for a while now, no words came directly out of his mouth that bashed Baltimore. In public, he didn't really want to discuss his situation, and the only things he said about other teams was a little about the Jets and a little about the Cowboys- simply posturing for the cameras. What else would he do? Vehemently deny wanting to play for any other team? Bad business move if he did that. But I feel confident that he will be back and we will embrace him again, like we have in the past, and watch him lead our defense for another year.
thank you, allthis anti-ray sentiment ******ing disgusts me. everyone is acting as if MOST players never hit free angency or switch teams...seriously...stfu and learn football
What I continue to find extremely hard to stomach about all of this are quotes like, "taking care of my family to the fullest extent." How much money does one family need to be "taken care of?!?" Are these guys seriously suggesting that their family would be worse off with $30 million than they would be with $40 million? It is outrageous that as a society we have gotten to the point where we pay athletes, musicians, actors, etc. these kinds of sums of money! And please don't reply with all the talk about "Well, the owners are making all that money so they can afford to reward the players with these kinds of contracts for their services." I don't care because that is just another sour piece of this disastrous puzzle; if owners weren't so greedy, and TV people weren't so greedy, and athletes weren't so greedy, Joe Fan wouldn't have to practically mortgage his house to go to a few games, drink a few beers, and/or watch the games on Sunday Ticket. It has already been disgusting for a long time and it's only getting worse. :(
seriously get a real job and a family and then turn down millions of dollars and talk to me...o wait you wont ever make millions  if you have to mortgage your house for a few games i seriously encourage you to take a long look at your life.

Losing Scott and Brown definitely leaves some gaps. I hope Ozzie can replace them (and possibly Ray if he goes) and we can keep on progressing next year. The Steelers should be tough again, but the Bengals and Browns are both in shambles. Making the playoffs should be almost a given.

NFL players have a very short lifespan to earn their money. I do not fault him for trying to get the most money he can. NFL players have a 10 year span (the good ones) to earn their money. The things you dont hear about (until recently) are all the NFL players 10-15 years after playing and all of the medical problems they have and the short life spans some of them have after playing.

It also baffles me that you guys are mad at a guy for trying to get the most money? Your telling me if you were in his situation you would gladly take 10 million dollars less to play for the Ravens? Come on, get our of here with that crap.

Well, they have pieces to build around on D. Most notably OJ Atogwe, who's probably my favourite non-Ed-Reed safety.
Leonard Little is still a good player, if not a great person.
Chris Long should start to come into his own this year. Pick up a corner and a couple LBs in the draft and they could be a decent sleeper pick for the NFC west.

You don't know me, you don't know what I do for a living, you don't know what kind of family I have, you don't know what kind of money I make, and you obviously can't recognize a figure of speech (the mortgaging of a home reference, which was clearly an exaggeration)...so why don't you just shut your mouth?

Personally, I am not mad that he is trying to make the most money, I am mad at the way he went about doing it. He did everything to knock down the Ravens and try to talk about how he could play for other teams. Now, I could understand that if the Ravens made no attempt to re-sign him last off-season, which they did. The problem I also have with this is Ray was arrogant and stupid. It's one thing when you KNOW what you are worth i.e. getting high offers from other teams, but the best offer he has received has been from us and he acts like it is disrespectful.
