What? Sam Koch did a great job as our punter, I wonder why we have not resigned him.

I thought I read something that said that we signed him and a bunch of other RFA's to a second tier tender or something like that. I don't remember where I seen it and not too sure what it meant but I think it meant that a team could come after them but would lose draft picks doing so. If somebody could clear that up, it would be greatly appreciated.

He is a RFA, and the Ravens have placed a 2nd round tender on him. So you don't have to worry about him being back, he will and i'm sure they will resign him long term sometime soon

Yes if anyone wants to sign Koch or Landry, the Ravens will have the chance to match the offer. If they don't then the other team would have to give up a 2nd round pick. Seeing as how Landry was hurt all season and no one would give up a 2nd round pick for a Punter, i think those guys are pretty safe

Koch is the man. Daren Stone downed a number of punts deep in enemy territory directly but there were a few punts that Koch kicked perfectly.

How do you put a high tender on a player? You can't just say I put a second on it. How is it delegated.

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Restricted_Free_Agent

In the National Football League, a restricted free agent (RFA) is one with three accrued seasons of service, who has received a "qualifying" offer (a salary level predetermined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the league and its players) from his current club.

Teams which choose not to match an offer on a player with a low tender receive a draft pick corresponding to the round in which the player was originally drafted (except that the highest pick that can be surrendered for such a tender is a second-round pick). For example, a player who was originally drafted in the sixth round of the NFL Draft would force the team signing him to give his former team a sixth-round pick in the upcoming draft as compensation for his service. I know he's a punter, but we all saw how good he is, will he be with us next year? I see he's still dangling on the FA wire day after day. I hate to lose him. WOuld he make that much more money elsewhere?

We have got to sign this guy. He is one of the best punters i have seen in a while. And with such a great defense to complament him pinning offenses beyond the 5, we have to resign him. If they let him go and continue in the same direction, this might throw up some flags. Dont get me worng i love out Front Office and they have done great in years past but they have definalty let a fews things slip so far.

I completely agree. Koch is one hell of a Punter and the Ravens style demands that we have a great punter considering the way we play for field position most of the time.
