Cowboys Have Signed Lb Keith Brooking

21 posts in this topic

the jets have signed bart scott and now the cowboys have signed keith brooking so i think its pretty safe to say ray will be back. i sure hope so at least. im interested to see what would happen if he came back. would he be the same type of leader that everyone looks up to after everything thats been said about him? (the cowboy stuff) will the rest of the fans welcome him back with open arms like me? thoughts?

If what he said about Ware basically lying and Lewis saying that he didnt say he always wanted to be a cowboy, then I dont think anything changes. Remember he'd been upset that he was even playing in a contract year to begin with.

Yeah it looks like Dallas got their 'veteran linebacker leadership', although i cant see him helping in that circus much. Looks like Ray has very few options right now. Personally i would love to see Ray back as a Raven next year and would welcome him without question. Although it may seem Ray's ego had got the better of him, he never really said anything negative publicly about returning to the Ravens im willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that his priority was returning to Baltimore. I dont really see much wrong in wanting one last payday for a player with the calibre of Ray Lewis.

i saw that cowboy signing too. This is a good sign that Ray might be back.

As far as how Ray would respond or be treated i don't think it will be any different. Ray has and will again deny the comments that Ware made, he will also say how Baltimore is his city and he loves the fans, he'll talk about how the bussiness side of football can be sometimes tough and emotional. Then he'll talk about how close this team is with Flacco and how the D will still be strong after Rex. He may or may not adress the comments by Rex.

Then the draft will come about and people will forget about Ray. His name will be a hot topic again at the start of camp. He might hear some scattered booes at the first home preseason game. Then the team will send Flacco and the offense out at the first regular season Home game and by the second game all will be forgotten about Ray

Naaa man we can still use Ray, he might not be the dominant ray lewis of old but he still makes big plays. One of my fav moments of the season was seeing Ray lay out Titans FB Ahman Hall in the playoffs :) Nice tattoo man, i need to get mine done soon now that im getting a bit bigger..

We will see what is going to happen and I hope that I'm wrong, very very wrong. If I'm wrong we will come back to this later in 2009 and the same if I'm right. Nothing personal, I just think it is time to move on.

Nah you gotta bring ray back there has to be some continuity during this transition on defense, especially at the inside linebacker spot. As much as I love Reed if the middle of your defense is completely new thats a tough thing to get past.

Ray will probably be back, no one else can afford him and give him the chance to win a championship. With him back, our young D will learn from the best and will give us a huge oppertunity to get charm city another superbowl win.
