Rex Ryan: "We wanna be the most physical team in the league"

I guess what that means is 'We're gonna take as many Ravens players as humanly possible'
Except that Corey Ivy won't even get playing time because his coverage is beyond embarrassing.

There were some games where literally every ball caught by an opposing WR would be on Ivy.

Good for the Jet's! Corey Ivy is really good at holding, illegal contact, pass inter. and he will hit anything moving with the ball.

But I'm confused at how so many people can be hating Ivy... when Frank Walker is still on the team. Sure you got Foxworth, but that's another unproven player for the most part. So you have Fabian who can cover but if the receiver gets the ball you know Fabian isn't going to tackle him. You have Foxworth... who is unproven. And you have Walker... who can't cover, tackle, or even talk trash correctly. I'm still worried about the corner position. There is going to be HUGE pressure on Reed and Landry this season.
i gues u didnt watch every game this season Walker was the only player to get at hines ward without really going fro him

**Jets sign former Ravens Mascot Poe to a 3 yr $12M contract**

That also comes with the purple and black team colors and Baltimore logo's as a signing bonus.

Ivy hasn't been signed. We had him in for a visit along with Scott but to my knowledge he hasn't been inked yet (nor do I want him to).

I'm personally hoping the Jets go after Jabari Greer. A young, talented cover corner who would be a great fit opposite Darrelle Revis. Not to mention it would be great to steal him away from a divisional rival in Buffalo.

You guys embarrass me..Ivy is still with the Ravens. Regardless you shouldn't bash a player as soon as he leaves us. He was respectable to the organization we should return the favor. He was a great dime back who had multiple sacks.

P.S. he is still on the team

well, I never really payed attention to Corey Ivy when he was on the feild, cuz, c'mon-- its Corey Ivy, but one thing I always noticed about him was that he doesn't know how to tackle. Seriously I tackle better than him. What's with him jumping on the ball carriers back and weighing him down? If the Jets want that, good for them, I honestly never saw the need for Ivy, I would have cared more if they signed Derrick Martin, at least he's got some upside.

My view on Ivy has always been the same and has not changed. The guy will run through a brick wall to make a tackle but he could not cover one of the ref's and is known for plays that involve pass inter., holding, illegal contact and or just getting beat deep. I can not say I do not like the guy.

A drum? How about a whole drum set! :o

Ivy isn't signed yet. According to ESPN, the JetsJetsJets are trying to trade for Lito Sheppard... if they do, they won't need Ivy.

Ivy's got toughness no doubt but he runs just about as fast as an average linebacker would imo. He also was a big mismatch in the opposing team's advantage. I remember how everytime in third down when a team goes for a spread offense, it takes the receiver simply 7-9 steps to clear away from ivy. oh well we'll probably bolster the secondary this season.

What annoys me the most is when he lines up 10 yards off the receiver and still gets beat for the catch.
