Corey Ivy was a good tackler and very physical for his size, but we can easily replace him. He was a liability in coverage. I will miss his passion though.

I wish him all the best. I hope Jets fans enjoy watching him allow first down catches on 3rd down. :D Just joking. Corey Ivy was a decent nickel. My main problem with him was his cockiness. I know corners are supposed to play with a swagger but he got abused at times and still managed to celebrate whenever he made a simple play.

I know.. are you sure? OR is he just "expected" to sign? Not a big deal.. not a big loss. He can be replaced. NO worries. I can't believe they aren't after Leohnard yet!
Anyone else think he kind of looked like a cartoon character?
well he certainly played like one. you know how they go beyond the cliff and don't fall down until they actually look down? well it was like that for Ivey, once he found the ball, he knew it was going right past him

With Derrick Martin coming back we dont need him. Martin is younger and has the potential to become more then a nickle corner/ special teams ace. Ivy isnt that big of a loss.

Rex Ryan: "We wanna be the most physical team in the league"

I guess what that means is 'We're gonna take as many Ravens players as humanly possible'

HAHAHAH! WONDERFUL!

But I'm confused at how so many people can be hating Ivy... when Frank Walker is still on the team. Sure you got Foxworth, but that's another unproven player for the most part. So you have Fabian who can cover but if the receiver gets the ball you know Fabian isn't going to tackle him. You have Foxworth... who is unproven. And you have Walker... who can't cover, tackle, or even talk trash correctly. I'm still worried about the corner position. There is going to be HUGE pressure on Reed and Landry this season.

We wouldn't have signed Foxworth for no reason. Ozzie obviously sees something in him.
The guy played with Champ Baliey so obviously he learned something!

right... I'm just wondering what he saw. that's all. I haven't seen many Falcons games or Broncos games since he's been in the league... but I know their secondaries weren't exactly raved about.
Fairly minescule loss.
I'm surprised Rex wants him.
Agreed, he always gave 100% but he's a special teamer and a dime back at best, definitely not a good coverage corner.

Foxworth is not "unproven" (he has 20+ career starts) he just hasn't played on a good defensive unit like ours in his career. Did anyone know who Jim leonhard was this time last year other than Bills fans? No, but he was put in a proven Baltimore defensive system and performed very well and is now likely to get starter level money somewhere.

I was all about bashing Frank Walker early in the season last year, but I stand by what I've said previously in that he really stepped up a lot more later in the season, at at least he could cover some receivers unlike Ivy.

5'11', can run a 4.2 forty, he's a great man on man corner, he can play they entire secondary, he's from Baltimore, played at Maryland, entering the prime of this career, and he's only 25.

That would hurt a lot more than losing Ivy, whom I wouldn't have noticed was gone next year unless we suffered some CB injuries. Even then it'd be more of a "Oh God don't tell me they're bringing in Ivy...o hay that's not Ivy" type of moment.

i was hoping for something more about how he actually plays, and not his measurements. that stuff certainly makes a difference... but only if you can play the position to begin with. kind of like boller having all the right physical attributes that people seem to like in a QB, but yet he was horrible.

This should be a reason to rejoice.

Hello, Corey Ivy is a terrible football player, relatively speaking.
