Favorite Ravens Vs Bengal Game Memories

13 posts in this topic

My favorite memory was in 2000 after the Ravens beat the Bengals 0-37 and head coach Bruce Coslet just up and quit! It was week 3 and the second time in 2 weeks they were shut out.

Any one else care to share?

Man I'm getting old. I can't remember the year or the running back's name (he later went on to play for NE), but one of my favorites is that running back REFUSING to go back on the field and try to run against our D. In fact, it might have been the same game you're remembering. Coslet quit not long after that.

It was Cory Dillon who did not want to go back into the 37-0 game back in 2000.

I remember the '02 game at home vs Cincinnati, the Ravens won 38-27, but it should have been 52-27, Ed Reed showboated going into the endzone with an INT and was hit and fumbled the ball away, something else happened where the Ravens blew another apparent TD, I can't remember what it was now off the top of my head, but with both touchdowns that would have been the Ravens highest scoring total to date.

My favorite was from the 2000 season, it may have been the same game u guys are talking about. The Ravens front 4 ran a stunt and Rob Burrnett came off free and blasts A. Smith right in the chest.

Lewis runnig with 9 Bungles trying to tackle him. It was on the front page of the sun's sports section. I still have it. At that time he was an unstoppable train. I also appreciate the Bungles for allowing us our first touchdown after our drought in 2000. Pass to Stokley... Drought over. Then we win a superbowl! Cincinatti used to be a joke. Thanks Marv.

Corey Dillon refusing to go back in the game was the funniest moment our franchises have shared. What a punk. We shut him down so much he was scared to take another snap. I would have been ashamed to call myself a Bengals fan. But they have so much to be ashamed for I would hate to grandstand them with my memories. How pathetic.

The first time that Palmer beat the Ravens and they all just looked shocked as they walked off the field. That's when Ray Ray and co. knew that times had passed them by. Either that or the last game when Rudi and Ray Ray met at the goal line and Rudi pushed it through. I bet ray Lewis wants this game more than any other regular season game this year.

Okay, so you know what bugs me when i talk to other team fans?

(sorry this is a little off topic)

when they ask me how many superbowls we have.

I get so angry when people ask me that

my only reply to them is..

well, how many years have we been here? 2007-1996= 11 years

and lets take pittsburg for example. how many years have they been there? 2007-1933= 74 years (this includes the Pittsburg Pirates which was renamed in 1940.)

Baltimore has won 1 superbowl

while pittsburgh has won 6.

to find the percent, (for ravens) you divide 1 by 11. and that gives you just around 10%

while for pittsburg, 6/74= just around 8%

hmm who's better now?!

ahah, sorry if that like doesnt make sence to you. im in a mathy mood.

ohh yahhhh,

RAVENS ARE KICKING MAJOR BOODY TONIGHT!

GOOO RAVENNSS!!!!!!

The Ed Reed TD today wuz pretty cool, so was the musa smith runs, so was the fumble to give us a chance to tie/win the game, so was B.J.'s kick/punt returns, and the illegal contact to give us the first down. But we still came up short.
