Wrong, I bet you haven't even seen him play more than 2 games.

Thats a ton of money though. This deal is $28 million over 4 years. Do the math...thats $7 million per season! This guy is a career backup and just last year was traded for a 7th round pick. No wonder Jason Brown is frustrated with the Ravens for never spending money on offense when we throw money around like this.

Now don't get me wrong, I have confidence in Ozzie that Foxworth is a solid player. It worked out well with Washington last year. But still, to let Brown, Scott, and probably Ray go and then turn around and sign an outsider to this sort of contract is a bit confusing.

Guess all I can say is...In Ozzie I trust

OK it's official Foxworth is a Raven, but why hold a presser already? FA is still wide open. Ray is yet unsigned as far as I can see. Are the Ravens done with FA already? Has Ray told them no cy later? Just has yet to become official? Also why isn't this live on the site?

I also think Ray is gone because Rex is, Ivy liekly is, same with Leonard, same with Scott, makes sense Ray is as well.

I have read about Foxworth on PFW and it sounds like he is really good. His strength is supposed man-to-man coverage and he was the Falcons' best corner last year. I don't know why he was signed for so much but I think he will earn his money.

foxworth is a decent player but i don't think he's a starter. i'd put him at nickel but nothin better than that. i'm a lil disappointed i feel there was other talent out there that could fit better. foxworth is a decent player but what good is it for all of our corners to be like 5'10 and under? ravens are pissin me off. scott bout to be gone, brown too. not to mention leonard and possibly ray lewis. what the heck

I don't think Ozzie would give a guy damn near $30 million to sit on the bench.

Being that Fox is 25, it'd be a great success if he turns out be a solid #2 for 5-6+ years.

You do not sign a nickel back on the first day of free agency for a multi-mil $ contract! Leonard did play really good but why sign him when you have other guys that can play his position, Nakamura, Haruki and Zbikowski, Tom. Both can play that spot and both have good return skills. Check out their college film. ;)

Letting Jason Brown go annoying but I don't think Ozzie would have left him go if he didn't have a plan. Foxworth excels at man-coverage which is something the Ravens do. I don't think he is a #1 corner but he and Washington are both good #2s.

We need more players like Foxworth!! Did anyone watch his press confess. That's what a Baltimore Raven looks like.

Ray clear this up for me...Do you want to be Great or Greedy?

and Scot...You %$!@$ #%&&#(* @!%^%& #@R*U^$5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just as easily a man gives his word he takes it away. What happen to honor?

Bump you Bart Scot! Bump you Ray Lewis! Bump you Jason Brown! Bump you Rex Ryan!

I like the move, I guess. Don't know much bout The Fox (his official nickname, I'm calling it), but he seems like a good player.

But this begs the question, who will be our number 1 corner? We have two #2 corners in Fabian and Fox, but no clear player to go up against the opposition's best wide out.

Now, will we still draft a corner or can we focus on a wide out in the first round and maybe a backer or center in the second? Questions people.

QFT

Although, I would replace the word "Bump" with something less pleasant.

Right now, no I don't think Fox is quite #1 material just yet either. But he has all the tools you want from a #1, so it's just a matter of putting it all together, IMO

this boy is good i have been calling this for about a month now saying go for foxworth or bodden personally i prefer foxworth and we made the right decision, why do u all judge someone when u barely know him .. u check his stats but stats dont mean nothing for a CB, look at fabian how well he did here in bmore, this boy is just as fast aS FABian.. and hes great at man to man, bump and run.. if u had the direct tv nfl sunday ticket u would be watching the games, especially this boy... him and fabian will be across from eachother.. expect to see samari ROLLLL right on out of bmore and free up anothert 4 mill..

I've never heard of this instantly rich CB, I have no clue who he is or who the guy is that wrote the article below, but my guess is he knows more about him then me and you do...I found it interesting a 8th rated FA cb, according to this analyst, commands this kind of scratch. I'm assuming Oz ranks him higher than 8th as shown by the dollar figure and promptness Dom. Foxworth was just signed to...

Believe it or not, it

Well said. Neither one of them is Asomugha but the team has two quality corners who will probably continue to improve. Plus, if the team gets another corner in the draft, it will increase competition which will only make everyone better.

This is not a panic move, Foxworth is young and already has plenty of playing time and STARTS under his belt. He will be worth the money, he has always played hard, from his time as a Terp (which is probably one of the reason this deal was done so quickly) through his time with the Broncos and Falcons. He is a great pickup for us and he is only going to get better seeing as he is only 26, especially considering that he is finally on a team that has the coaches to run an excellent defense (unlike on his prevoius 2 teams).

This also leads me to believe that we may no longer be looking for a corner in the 1st round and instead using that pick on one of the bigger name wideouts in the draft like Hakeem Nicks or Heyward-Bey (if they are there) and may address corner with a 2nd or 3rd rounder.

Trust me, I've watched Dominique Foxworth play, and he's worth every penny.

I've said it over and over and over again in multiple threads, and I'll reiterate here, he played well as a rookie in Denver under the tutelage of Champ Bailey (and alongside the late Darrent Williams), and he played admirably in his only season as a Falcon after being traded by the Broncos after their acquisition of Dre Bly last year.

Foxworth is worth it.

The main thing is he LOVES being a Raven. He was glowing at his presser saying how much it was his dream to play here, and those kind of guys are the ones you want on the team.
