Foxworth A Raven

I just asked for an honest assessment on the Falcons Board, and got these answers:
Foxworth, from watching him play as a starter with us, is a d*mn good pick up for you guys. He's pretty good in coverage, zone and man-on-man. Kinda smallish against the run, but he should do well in your 3-4 scheme if the LBs keep the RBs off of him.

he was our best corner last year. he has good speed. he can be inconsistent at times. i don't remember him getting beat a whole lot here. i think he'll perform pretty good for you guys. he played good for us and this was his first year starting.

He only played here a year, so it's hard to get an assessment of him over that period. Our team D was not that good mainly because of a terrible pass rush. With the D that Balt. has he should perform above average. I thought he was okay. He had streaks were he was very good and streaks where he was average, but a lot of that I think was because he was required to cover guys for longer than he should because of our lack of pass rush. I don't think he was worth the money he got, but I think he will be a decent #2 corner. Don't think he will ever be a #1 guy.

Foxworth is a good corner. I won't take that away from him even though he left us. He learned from one of the best in Champ Bailey when he was with the Broncos. He had a couple of dropped INT's last season which could have very well been picks. He seems like a good team player...we'll miss him until we get someone to cover for him. I'm not sure if hes worth that amount of money...but he is a good, young, quality player. I hear he helps out in the community alot too...well...in Denver. Overall, I think you'll be satisfied with him. Hope that helps!
I've read in several places that the Ravnes are trying to move Rolle in a trade of some kind because his contract is smaller than what Chris's was. If we are able to get anything done than I would expect him to be released.

Wiki has him running a 4.22 in the 40yd. :o I'm glad to see him come home to Baltimore, my Wife worked him and his mother in Denver, they're nice people.
Nice pickup for Baltimore.

I don't think you'll suffer any big setback with Foxworth/Washington as opposed to Rolle/McAlister.
Washington isn't anywhere near the cornerback McAlister was, but Foxworth/Washington could work if Ozzie drafts a CB and develops him with Fabian serving as a stopgap.

uh. does 7 mill a year seem like a little too much for you guys? i thought foxworth's contract was going to be in the 3-5 mill range - 5 being the most. i mean, jason brown and bart scott were looking for a contract around 8 mil a year, yet we refused to sign them, although we know that they're stars. i mean, foxworth sounds average-solid, but with bart and jason, we knew we gere going to get excellent players. what do you think?

I think it was a good move too.

That may be true but we have LB's on our roster right now that will have to step up and play. We need corners bad!!!!!

No, I think it's about what he's worth. He is very good, and could actually prove to be a steal if he realizes his full potential. He's one of those under the radar guys that you don't hear much about; but I guess that shouldn't be a surprise, that's what Oz seems to like.

If Foxworth pans out to be a very good #2 on this team for 5-6+ years, then no, we did not overpay.

Everyone's running a 4.1 on Wikipedia. ;)
He ran a 4.34 at the combine which is still plenty fast. Looks like we got two 4.3 starting corners right now in Fabian and Domonique.

He sure does, with hard work and more experience, he could very well become Cmac lite

Apparently he was born in England, and then moved to Maryland at a very young age. Similarly, I was born in London, but I've been in the US since the age of 2.

Maybe Ray wasn't so pivotal in attracting free agents? Ozzie got this one done all by himself. Minus the $28 million.
Don't worry about stats; it's misleading when evaluating CB's.

Foxworth is a very solid player; I would compare him somewhat to Dunta Robinson of the Texans. Very good man to man; good tackler, fast.
agreed u can never review a player from stats well at CB that is.. i watched this kid all the way back since md.. hes talented, and people even have him being better than dunta which i think he is as well...
hes gonna start and fabian will be right next to him.. just think fabian works on his tackling u will have the 2 best cover corners in the league...

we will release samari probley sometime soon, that gives us another 4 mill... hopefully things work out
IN OZZI I TRUST!!!!! he knows what to do
miracle man he is
