do we take a shot at springs to add some corner depth
stop mentioning washed up corners who are in there mid 30's ... we have foxworth who is gonna make a huge impact on this team especfially with fabian and him across from eachother.. gonna me a shutdown team were not gonna sign nomore FA except maybe lewis.. the rest let ozzi work is draft
we will get a Corner from the draft maybe 3rd round..
we are going to address recievers and a center.. hopefully another Defensive Linemen...
3rd round i see domonique johnson.. hopefully he falls right to us 3rd round
I'd rather have to rest of the depth at DB come from the draft.
If we cut Rolle and Fabian or Foxworth goes down the who starts? Frank Walker?

We need to bring in another veteran who can start but will serve as the nickel.

I would rather team draft a corner in the second or third to play the nickel. There have been many secondaries in the NFL that lacked a veteran but were still successful. Look at the Falcons last year with Foxworth. They got torched by Arizona but the played well throughout the year.

To sign Dre Bly is saying we are going to address our depth in 2009 with quality. He wouldn't be a starter and he wouldn't be a long term solution. He would serve as pure depth and would bring excellent competition to training camp for Walker and Martin .

So what if he's old? We wouldn't be asking him to come in and start. But he could if it was necessary. That's saying a lot more than what Frank Walker or Corey Ivey was able to do last year.

B4 Foxworth, bringing in Dre Bly would have been a mistake. But now that we have our young starting cornerbacks locked up, bringing in additional "experienced/older" talent is ideal, especially given the track record of our secondary's injuries over the past few years.

And sizzle I like you and all but dude, you made yourself look like a "fuggen ask whole". That **** was uncalled for.

The question is would Dre Bly want to come in and be a nickel. For a player who has racked up close to 50 interceptions in his career, I don't think so.

No to Dre Bly. He was exposed in Denver (albeit in a crappy defensive system), and it's ironic that he played worse on an otherwise better team. Remember, he was just coming off a stint with the Lions where he was one of the only decent players there.

We are in the process of building a long term franchise. You pick up a veteran when you are trying to top a season off with one more personelle to take you to the next level.

Without Rolle our secondary looks very fragile

-Fabian Washington
-Domonique Foxworth
-Frank Walker
-Derrick Martin
?
?

If Fabian and Foxworth both get hurt is Walker/Martin a reassuring starting duo to you? Our draft pick isn't going to come in here with experience and be a guaranteed backup replacement.

We need depth. Bly= experience. Bly= depth.

Dre Bly is the best cornerback on the market right now (excluding C'Mac of course). Maybe Jabari Greer would work but he is going to cost too much $$ to serve as a 3rd CB. So will McFadden. Maybe we can still get Buchanon, but he's a starter so what would we do with Foxworth @ $27Million? Give him a bench to keep warm?

I understand his age is a concern but so is our depth and unless you would prefer an even older broke down CB (shawn springs) or a younger less cable CB to fill that need, then don't talk about future when the time is now.

He's getting some attention around the league from the saints and patriots.

Springs drew immediate interest from New England and New Orleans, according to league sources, and took the move in stride, texting a reporter during Haynesworth's press conference, "Can you ask Haynesworth to buy my house?"

I would love Leigh Bodden or Drayton Florence or Ronald Bartell the ? is are these younger guys going to cost less than the older guys especially now that the Ravens and Redskins have set the bar for the market value at a premium.
