Jo_75's Mock Draft 1.0.

I hope you guys like it, it took me several days to work on it and finalize every pick but I got it done. I was having trouble with the Eagles picks, and if anything those two picks will probably be the picks that will constantly change every update.

Note: This was made after the NFL Combine. This could change based on Free Agency.

1. Detroit Lions- Aaron Curry LB- Taking a QB here is very much likely, but defense wins championships. I look for the Lions to rebuild the defense with the first overall pick. Curry's impressive Combine shows me he deserves to be the # 1 Overall Pick in the 2009 Draft.

2. St. Louis Rams- Eugene Monroe OT- Andre Smith would have been the pick here, but when you show up at the combine overweight and not ready, your draft stock will drop. Eugene impressed at the Combine and now the Rams can get the Offensive Lineman they wanted after Jake Long went to the Dolphins last year.

3. Kansas City Chiefs- Brian Orakpo DE- Alright you may think I'm crazy with this pick, but again defense wins championships. The chiefs haven't had a good DE since Jared Allen, and Orakpo fits the bill. Many think Matthew Stafford will go here but I think Matt Cassel will be the starting QB of the Chiefs in 2009.

4. Seattle Seahawks- Michael Oher OT- Seahawks need a WR but with Crabtree's injury there will be some doubt, Michael Oher is the pick to rebuild a poor Offensive Line to help protect Matt Hasselback.

5. Cleveland Browns- Everette Brown DE- The Browns look to improve a terrible defense in a division that has the Super Bowl champs and the Baltimore Ravens. With Orakpo gone, Brown will be the pick.

6. Cincinnati Bengals- Michael Crabtree WR- Bengals get a steal with this. Ok not a steal considering the injury and the need for surgery but the Bengals need a WR since TJ is leaving for FA and likely heading to the Giants.

7. Oakland Raiders- Jason Smith OT- Two of the top Tackles are gone, even though Andre Smith is still on the board, he left the combine with questions about his ability which leaves the other Smith (Jason) for the Raiders. They could go WR but protecting their franchise QB is # 1 priority.

8. Jacksonville Jaguars- B.J. Raji DT- Jacksonville has to regroup their defense and this is a great way to start. Jacksonville starts rebuilding with this pick.

9. Green Bay Packers- Malcolm Jenkins CB- Green Bay has been the youngest team in the past few years, look for that to continue. Charles Woodson is getting older and they need to upgrade the secondary. Jenkins can contribute from the season opener.

10. San Francisco 49ers- Matthew Stafford QB- You can get on me about Stafford being taken this low. But like I said Cassel winds up in KC. Stafford will provide some much needed help and will allow the 49ers to start over at the QB position.

11. Buffalo Bills- Andre Smith OT- Now instead of being the first overall pick he drops to the # 11 pick. The Bills need protection for Trent Edwards; they can't afford him to be injured again. Trent can lead this team into the future, just protect him and give him some weapons to throw to.

12. Denver Broncos- Rey Maualuga ILB- Denver looks to vastly improve their defense after the total collapse they had late in the season. They could have won the division and made the playoffs if they had a great defense to look over the impressive offense.

13. Washington Redskins- Vontae Davis CB- With DeAngelo Hall hitting the open market, the Redskins secondary is in need of improvement and Davis could be one hell of a pick for the Skins here and will give the Skins a long term solution at the Corner Position.

14. New Orleans Saints- William Moore S- The Saints secondary needs help and at this point there is no CB worthy of this pick. So the Saints upgrade the Safety position, and get a guy who will be a main stay in the Saints Secondary for quite some time.

15. Houston Texans- Aaron Maybin DE- This is definitely a steal considering the Skins and Broncos also need help with pass rushing. Mario Williams now gets help opposite of him with Maybin.

16. San Diego Chargers- Chris Wells RB- I know they still have LT and they franchised Sproles but with LT being sidelined the past two years due to injury, and the possibility of him being traded, the Chargers get a great back and can begin to work on the defense in the second and third rounds

17. New York Jets- Brian Cushing OLB- It's either take Percy Harvin or a Linebacker. I say Linebacker. With Rex Ryan taking over as the head coach, he looks to improve the defense ASAP. They could go with Sanchez or maybe Josh Freeman. But in the end if Rex can't get Bart Scott away from Baltimore; Cushing is the pick.

18. Chicago Bears- Darrius Heyward-Bey WR- Thanks to the Jets taking a LB, the Bears grab a WR to help their offense. Kyle Orton is going to have fun throwing to him and seeing many, many TDs.

19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Jeremy Maclin WR- Ok, this may be too low for Maclin, but I think the Bucs get lucky and grab Maclin giving Luke McCown a weapon. They need some WRs and with Maclin still on the board they snag him right up.

20. Detroit Lions (From Dallas) - Duke Robinson OG- They addressed the future of their defense, now they get protection for Daunte Culpepper. Mark Sanchez may be the pick but the Lions need to upgrade their O-line before finding a franchise QB.

21. Philadelphia Eagles- Peria Jerry DT- They could address the O-Line here, they also could give Donovan the WR he wants, but I believe the Eagles grab Marvin Harrison in FA which allows them to grab Peria to improve the defense.

22. Minnesota Vikings- D.J. Moore CB- Yes the Vikings could take Mark Sanchez here, but even with a trade for Sage Rosenfelt, Tavaris is the man to lead the Vikings, so the Vikings upgrade their defense. WR is also a good possibility but I think the Vikings upgrade to improve against the pass.

23. New England Patriots- Larry English OLB- Patriots need help with the aging defense. They continue to ignore the problem of an aging line backer core. Larry English settles into an aging defense and vastly makes this defense better.

24. Atlanta Falcons- Brandon Pettigrew TE- I had the Eagles taking him, but with Marvin Harrison in the mix, they pass on Pettigrew. So Matt Ryan and the Falcons get the TE of the future and a great blocking TE which will help Michael Turner and the Atlanta running game.

25. Miami Dolphins- Percy Harvin- WR- Could go much higher than this pending Free Agency but just won't happen. Thanks to Bill Parcells the Dolphins improved to 11-5, now they need another target for Chad. The Phins get the local boy to improve at WR. They could also go Alex Mack if they can't get Jason Brown from the Ravens.

26. Baltimore Ravens- Hakeem Nicks WR- Tough decision for Ozzie Newsome. Do you take Alphonso Smith or Hakeem Nicks? Hakeem Nicks is the pick. Yeah Corner seems like a bigger need, but they finally have a QB. Joe Flacco at times seemed to only look for Derrick Mason and missed open receivers. Mason is getting older and Flacco needs someone besides Mark Clayton to grow with, so Hakeem Nicks is the pick and gives Flacco some help.

27. Indianapolis Colts- Alex Mack C- It seems Jeff Saturday is leaving the Colts via Free Agency. So now the Colts get themselves their new Center of the Future in Mack. They could try for Mark Sanchez here at this pick since they need a better back up but Center is a bigger need than a backup QB.

28. Philadelphia Eagles (From Carolina) - LeSean McCoy RB- The Eagles addressed a DT with the 21st pick now they give help to Brian Westbrook. With the two running back system the way to go these days, a Westbrook-McCoy backfield could be quite impressive.

29. New York Giants- Clay Matthews OLB- They had a great defense even with some minor set backs, but they have a very weak line backing core. Antonio Pierce is the only great LB on that team, and you could tell he was distracted by the whole Plaxico shooting; now Matthews provides much needed help and gives the Giants a young LB to develop for years.

30. Tennessee Titans- Sean Smith CB- With Alex Mack off the board the Titans get help at the CB position. Sean Smith may be small, but don't under estimate him, he will be a great player wherever he goes.

31. Arizona Cardinals- Donald Brown RB- So, So, close. So awful close to winning Super Bowl 43. They just missed one piece, a Running back. Edgerin James wants out, Tim Hightower is not an every down back, and Brown fills the need and if the Cardinals make the right moves, they very well could find themselves back in the Super Bowl.

32. Pittsburgh Steelers- Herman Johnson OG- Somehow, someway, Big Ben made it through the season without being on IR. The O-line was terrible, and Pittsburgh needs to upgrade it.

Note: Yes I do have Mark Sanchez being drafted, just not in the first round. If I did do a two round mock draft, you would see that with the 34th pick in the NFL Draft, the Rams would get their QB of the Future in Sanchez.

Pretty good mock draft. I see a couple things though that I don't agree with.

There is no way DHB goes before Maclin and I can't see Maclin falling to 19 even though there is always a chance. I also don't see D.J. Moore going before Alphonso Smith and I can't see how you can say that William Moore is going to sneak up into the top 15 or even the first round. I think Alphonso Smith will definitely go in the first round and I think there is a chance that Darius Butler slides in there too. I also think that William Beatty will go before Herman Johnson. I also think that Larry English has come back down to earth because he didn't blow anybody away at the combine. I see him going in the second round. Also where is Knowshon Moreno at? I think Donald Brown is great but I think Knowshon is going in the first round for sure. By the way Sean Smith isn't small, I think you meant slow (Which he isn't). He doesn't have blazing speed, but it's solid.

Just wondering if you could explain these.

LOL. Don't worry I'm not mad. :) Besides this is only my first mock draft and like I said things will change based on the Free Agency pick ups. Ok to answer your questions, I based this off the combine and what each teams needed. That's the reason for Maclin falling, is because I believe there will be a run on OTs in the top 10. DHB is ahead of Maclin because of his 40 yard dash time. I put DJ Moore ahead of Alphonso because I needed some suprises. I wanted to think outside of the box and get some suprises in there instead of the obvious choices. About Knowshon Moreno, well I forgot about him. When I kept going over this to revise it and finalize it before tomorrows free agency, I kept thinking of a RB that I was missing and couldn't think of his name and well that RB was Knowshon Moreno. But he will definitly be in my next update. Hope that clears some things up and answers your questions in a good way. With some of the recent cuts, and what might happen in FA, well there might be a major shakeup in my next update.

Wow! My Mock draft 2.0 will see a big change to it. I wasn't expecting much change but gosh alot of teams are pickin up players where I could see them going into a different direction in the draft. I'm also pretty sure everyone else who made a mock draft will change their drafts alot just like I will.

okay, i posted something before, but it's gone....don't know why. anyway....

11. bills: they have jason peters....a probowl LT. you're not gonna draft andre smitht to play RT with the 11th pick in the draft.
14. saints: william moore won't go in the first round unless it's at the VERY end. his stock has dropped a good bit this year
20. lions: pretty high for duke robinson. shouldn't go until the first 10 picks in round 2
25. dolphins: they made this pick two years ago with ted ginn
32. steelers: herman johnson won't even watch the first day of the draft, because he's not going there. 3rd rounder at best, and that's onlybecause of his freakish size. horrible, horrible feet
