Rg Duke Robinson Or G/c Alex Mack In The 1st?

Both are easily elite interior line prospects and could help soften the blow should Brown leave, of course it depends on the remaining CB and WR prospects who at our place in the draft could be far from being a sure thing. Thoughts?

Personally, I would rather see us take CB WR DL in that order.... but if none are availible worthy of our pick, then I'd be happy with a C or G

I think Brown is gone to the Dolphins to replace Satele (Who hasn't preformed well against the big DT of the East) unless we can sign him before Friday. He will probably end up being the highest paid center in the league. I think I would go with Duke Robinson and move Chris Chester back to center.

This is what I've been thinking. If Brown goes we will need to draft a G or C. I'd rather be able to keep Flacco up right and have him throw to mediocre wr's rather then have a stud wr and not be able to get him the ball because our QB is on his back all the time. You can win with mediocre to poor wr's, you cant win with a poor offensive line.

I hope Browns stays though because we also need help at RT, so him leaving will really set us back on the offensive line.

So, he can get tossed around by Rogers and Hampton twice a year like Satele has done in Miami? No, thanks. Yanda would be a better option.

I think Alex Mack is the best interior line prospect in the draft. He has played nearly every position on the line to so that will help him out alot. That being said he will probably be early 2nd rounder?

yes if Brown where to leave we could possibly trade back in the first or even take a WR or CB in the first and guys like Luigs, Caldwell, Wood will be there in the secound when we pick, some some options

1 Mack
2 Francies
3 Barden

1 Nicks
2 Luigs
3 Parson

1 Nicks
2 Francies
3 Caldwell

I think Mack would be a better pro but I dont know how well he can nullifly those fat noest tackles in our division.

OT:Chester needs to hit the gym!!!!

mack has played both center and guard, but never played tackle.

max unger played every position on the o-line at times and should be able to play 4 of the 5 spots (all but LT) in the NFL. he wouldn't be a GREAT RT, but he could do it in a pinch.

i like mack, but i think his best position is only at Center in the NFL. unger has an equal opportunity to be an elite guard or center. i actually have him ranked as THE best interior prospect in the draft because of his versatility. duke robinson is the best pure guard prospect, but i'd take unger over him because of the versatility

Unger does suck, but so do most interior linemen against Raji.

Personally I think Robinson is a monster drive blocker and add more power to our right side with Yanda going to centre. But Mack is still solid, could be a 10+ year leader and offer more flexibilty in our blocking schemes.

ha, obviously you two haven't really watched Unger play. sad......

raji is a great interior defensive lineman. he's going to win more than half of the time.

ask anyone from mobile....unger was the best interior O-lineman there. but that would involve more than just spewing out something you read on a website somewhere.

you shouldn't throw the "suck" tag around lightly. it doesn't make you look very good when you're THAT wrong

i know we are talking about guys in the draft, however i wouldn't count out Oniel Cousins. I think if will compete with Yanda or anyone else for the RG/RT spots in camp this year.

I think Mack could be a possibility now but I would rather the team get a corner or receiver. Jason Brown was drafted in the fourth round so I think Ozzie could find someone to replace him.

Actually the 2 people that I listen to regularly on Sirius (Pat Kirwan- Former GM and Tim Ryan former DE) both said that Alex Mack was the best interior lineman in Mobile and went as far to say that Unger could be as low as 3rd.

kirwan is far from a draft guy. i don't even know who ryan is........

but from the sounds of things, kirwan wasn't paying close enough attention. in fact, talking to the defensive lineman in mobile, most said that UNGER was the toughest guy they faced that week. hmmm......

that being said, mack, unger and wood aren't far apart in talent and won't be drafted all that far apart.

some people have mack rated higher than unger, and that's fine. i have no problems with that. it's hard to find flaws in mack's game.

BUT....to say that Unger sucks!?!?!! seriously. all credibility lost.

He has a lot of credibility because he is friends with a lot of the GM's and scouts who do analyze the guys. After listening to him since he has been on Sirius, I have come to realize he has alot of contacts at NFL teams and when he says something it usually comes true. Tim Ryan played for the Bears back when Singletary was there, never a great player, just a journeyman. I would def. not say that Unger sucks though, agree on that one.

His style of blocking just wont cut it against the power game, hes like a tall Chris Chester. Hes weak and belongs on a zone blocking unit, or at centre.
