Yeah, if they are talking with Bart, that clearly means they are lookin to talk Ray down in price, which isn't going to happen. Later Ray, enjoy your money.

Sounds good to me.
Its great to hear that there is still a chance that we could keep all of our LBs.
Also I love to hear that they want to keep Landry.

Good post!

The first two post acted like ray is gone, no where in the article does it mention anything close to ray is leaving it says the opposite that he feels they can get all 3 LB and brown

It's good to finally hear some positive news regarding our FA's. I get tried of hearing how we are gonna lose everyone, or how someone can kick rocks cuz the RUMORS say they are going to Dallas. I hope we can hold on to those top for guys. As much as i would hate to see Jimmy and Auto-Matt to go, sometimes things happend.

If Ozzie can find a way to make all 4 of those guys happy(especially being orginal Ravens products) i think there is no doubt(if there is still any) that he is one of the best GM's in the league. Those 4 guys mean so much to this teams success and to keep them together would be huge.

If we can get all three LB's and Brown, I'd definitely be willing to part with Leonhard and Stover, knowing the depth we have at safety and the leg we have with Hauschka no ****.

I am glad they are not going to let Bart walk away without a fight. Honestly, after all the emotion is out of it, Ray Lewis and Bart Scott are about equal as far as pro's vs. cons go. And I'd much rather pay Bart a big contract then to give Lewis a big contract. My only concern is that with us possibly keeping 3 of these guys, of our big 4 FA's, it means someone else has to go. Gregg, Heap, Pryce, Rolle, Mason, and McGahee- all take up a decent amount of cap space but at this point only Gregg is expandable, because we know we can win without him. We can win without McGahee but his bonus is still to big to take the cap hit. Everybody else, plays at a position that we are either already really bad at or dont have much depth at. Not good!
If we sign Lewis to more than 6 mil, I will never be a Ravens fan again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JK
I wouldnt say that much but it will make our front office look like a bunch of suckers because no other team is going to pay that much for him.

How the hell did you infer that, that was random. The greatest player in Ravens history, the greatest LB in history, isn't going anywhere. Bisciotti already said he is going make sure of that. I don't want Scott back unless he is taking a pay cut. The next player from the U is waiting to be the next man up.

I don't understand the lukewarm on Leonard!!

I just went back and counted 6 or 7 major game changing plays he made (I was just watching the highlights).

This kid is explosive! ok somebody tell me why we pass on him and keep our "so-so" cornerbacks? I bet he could convert (man he's worth it just for special teams!!)

Boy!! we don't sign him i bet it will come back to haunt us!!

He is way to damn slow to be a CB. Best chance is move to a complete zone 3-4 defense, and have Ngata, Pryce, Bannan/Gregg, MLB, 2 OLBs, Washington, Rolle/Walker, Reed, Landry, and Leonard.

I think its a price vs need type of thing. SOMEBODY is going to pay Leonhard big money that he's probably not worth. He's a talented guy and I'd like to keep him but his market value is going to be to high for us to keep him and we can use that money to upgrade our "so-so" cornerbacks. In my opinion, he's a luxury pick up, since we've already got a ton of talent at safety.

Ok so I can see the money issue, but where do we go to upgrade our cornerbacks?... Draft? ... who? I don't see any real exciting FA in that position. :D

Hey, check the sig. If there is a will, Ozzie will find a way. Dawan Landry was a 5th round pick who stepped in at safety as a rookie and had a great year for us.

Hey like you say...Trust in Ozzie! ok I hope your right, Looking at the AFC championship game one of our major weaknesses was the corners and Pittsburg zinged us good!! If we don't do something to change that..history will repeat this year.

I think Leonhard's play this season made a lot of people forget what a monster Dawan Landry is. Landry is a much better SS IMO, he a better blitzer and a much better tackler. I agree that Jim will get a nice contract, I just don't think it will be from the Ravens. If it was a choice between Ray, Bart, and Jason as to who gets the nice contract, it has to be JB. He's the leader of our O-Line, he's young, he's incredibly underrated. After that, we keep either Ray or Bart (signs pointing to Bart) and then we have the depth at the LB position to fill the vacancy (Gooden, Barnes, McClain.)

i agree completely beetus..

i'd like to pick up leigh bodden and draft nicks 1st round and then best available cb 2nd round.....

and then our 2nd ranked pass defense would be set to repeat

I also think the reason Leonhard was so good was the defense he was in and he was playing with Ray. Players have come-and-gone who have been great here but not so much elsewhere.

I still think Lenny is the man but I don't think we should pay him the kind of money he can command when we are deep at that position.

Lenny is usually what I cheered at the TV when he did something...

Finally read the article, looks like Ozzie is ready to make the tough choices.

It will show how much (or little) he tried during rehab
