John clayton just said on sportscenter that Aso will either sign a 2-3 year deal today or be franchised and that Daunte from Houston just got tagged, so there go the good corners of FA, what do you guys think our plans are then for CB

Bly? He got cut by Denver, probably the worst defense in the league. No thanks.

Yeah the worst D in the league but maybe the system he was in didnt allow him to shine. Champ Bailey doesnt even do as well for the Broncos as he did for the Skins. I think we should at the very least give him a workout
Wow Aso is making a 3 yr 45 million dollar deal, we could never have gotten him
Brian Roberts is about to sign for 4/44, so it really isn't that much, comparatively speaking. I realize that football has a cap, but the Raiders don't really have NFL caliber players outside of Aso, so he is given dibs on the money pot anyways.

How can you compare a baseball contract with a football one? Anyway, Aso getting that contract is absolutely absurd, but Al Davis doesn't know any better

it's no more absurd than any other professional athlete's salary. i mean, you have rookies that have never played in the NFL with multi-million dollar deals. honestly... who else was oakland going to give the money to? jamarcus russel? darren mcfadden? please. al davis actually got this one right. congrats to Aso! spend it well!

Precisely why I included a disclaimer at the end of my post.

Word going around some of the NFL teams is that Vontae Davis is physically good, but they are down on his football skills. Interesting to see if his combine results get him higher than he should go.

Told you all getting ASO was nothing but in our dreams. 3 year and a min. of 45 million. Thats a average of the top 5 highest paid QB's in the league on His third year, if OAK wants to keep Him. Out ahead of any CB would ever dream of getting paid.

To be fair... both McFadden and Russell have been paid handsomely already by Mr. Davis when they signed their rookie deals

Man, 3 years for 36 mil might have been reasonable for an elite player at an important position (noticed the obsession over pass defense over the Giants' Championship), but 3 for 45 is nuts for a non-QB. It would even be high for an elite QB.

that deal solidifies al davis as the worst GM in sports.... hands down.. i'd take matt millen as my President, CEO, GM, and Head Coach over Al Davis as my Owner

i just dont understand why they didnt tag him for the next two years, it would of been cheaper there or there abouts and they wouldnt have to pay the gurantees lol

Damn I'd be happy if we got Greer, we'd probably have to give up more than he is worth because he is young and has a cheap contract. Bodden get's injured way too much for my liking and Hall is still overrated (People still think very highly of him).
