Released by the 27th ranked pass defense of the 0-16 Lions, and he's an animal?

Detroit is $26 million UNDER the salary cap, in better shape than the Ravens. Bodden was scheduled to make $3.7 million this year, and was released. Cleveland traded him, after they were ranked 24th in pass defense in '07. This year they improved to 14th...

He's the #1 the Ravens are searching for?

I think not.

Samari played admirably down the stretch but is getting OLD and can't stay healthy. I think we're just fine with Fabian manning the other side, but we do need a stud opposite him and Rolle is no longer that guy. And it sure as HECK isn't Frank Walker either. Let's hope we get a good one in the draft or somehow find another diamond in the rough like Fabian again this year.

I'm all for the Ravens getting younger and better, even if it means parting ways with long time greats like C-Mac, Samari, and dare I say it....Ray-Ray! :o

 Think we would be a bit hasity to let Samari walk, yes he is no spring chicken but lets think here. Rex gone, C-Mac gone, Ray possibly gone, leonard not coming back, Suggs (tagged we need to work out a deal with him), Scott heard little to nothing will he stay?? :( ? We still can have greta D with what we have but we need to keep some of the old heads around. CB who else would we have yes we should draft and most likely will but rookie CB?? with Washington? kinda ify, would feel better if they keep the experiance around.

Fabian is a serviceable guy, but if Rolle isn't coming back, CB is a HUGE problem. Even if Samari is coming back, they still need another quality guy. If he's gone...

I don't feel like we're going to be a team (in the future) that keeps older players around for too long. I think Harbs. likes to keep youth on the field, but not just young and dumb players. Inteligent and hard working players with cohesive personalities as opposed to abrasive guys not playing the "RAVEN WAY". Samari has served his time, he must be sent to the glue factory. He can't tackle and he can't stay healthy. He is NOT physical enough for our style of play anymore. I feel like if C-mac was paid less it would have been wise to keep him, but he hit the CAP HARD. Samari is also being overpaid.

its important for a Team to keep a certain level of veteran players on the team simply because, they bring/have that they've been there, done that... year after year after year, so they know what to expect, what to look for, how to work on things, how to improve.... the whole deal. The Younger players dont always have a full understanding of the different things to do out there and therefore the veteran players step in and guide them towards the right path (in terms of what they need to work on and what not). Having that Veteran leadership "father" figure to help guide you towards doing the right thing, is what these younger guys need, and its what the TEAM needs in order to ensure the future of the team/franchise, is bright and shining.
