Preview Of The Season

any thoughts on this??

Yes, here are my thoughts:

- our team may be still somewhat under the radar via the power polls at #4 to #6. There's a good argument for #2, behind the Pats

- the comment on Ray Lewis influencing McGahee was astute. I have had my doubts about McGahee since the trade was announced -- his 3.9 ypc is not much of an upgrade over Jamal, and I'm not convinced he will be a pass-catching threat out of the backfield. However, I do believe he had some issues at Buffalo that would be mitigated here via Lewis' presence. I don't put much stock in the negative comments about preseason -- Billick was not tipping his hand.

- these sportswriter picking the Steelers are way off. That is a team in decline.

lol i guess thats why we have back up running backs that can step in at any time and do well (Mike Anderson, Musa Smith exc...) just in case McGahee does poorly, we have good RB's to Lean on, yea i know what you mean, the Pre-season is Really more or less the Rookie Player's Season, a chance to Prove themselves and see what they can do, a chance for th Coaches and staff to really look at and evaluate each player and determine whether or not he made the team

Great point .... I am looking for more use of reserve RBs than any previous Ravens season. A healthy Musa could contribute more than just 3rd downs, and Mike Anderson should provide good change of pace and goal-line power running. If all three can get into the mix, McGahee's life expectancy should increase, too.
