Crabtree Not Running The 40

14 posts in this topic

Do you think his stock will fall or he will get drafted at least a little later now?

One can only hope, it would be amazing if we could trade up to get him :P

They also said that he will run the forty on his campus at a later date. (I guess for his pro-day?) Anyways, it probably won't hurt him too much unless the ankle injury is something serious.

No chance... Reggie Bush didn't run the 40 at the Combine either and he still went #2 Overall. Crabtree's stock will largely loom on his ability to come back from this injury.

If you can not run the 40, can you still perform the other drills? You have to run for allf the on field drill's right!

Not that it matters because he wont fall past 5 but...

I dont believe it for a second. He probably thinks his real 40 would probably hurt his stock than him not running it haha.

Running the 40 would do nothing at all to help him. In fact running the 40 could hurt his draft position if he does poorly. For example if Maclin ran a blazing time in the 4.3 range and Crabree was noticably slower, all of a sudden Maclin probably leapfrogs him in the draft and he lost himself millions of dollars. He's already a guarenteed top 5 so why risk it?

DHB is said to run sub 4.3. If that happens Crabtree and Maclin will losse valus if that can't be beat. IMO, I'd rather have both of them over DHB but if his speed is that good he will go Q U I C K.

i can remember this exact thing being discussed with the "experts" back when Adrian Peterson was entering the NFL draft. They kept reittrating that Peterson injured/broke his collar bone and all that and were all saying " Will his injury effect his draft selection?" type stuff well he reitterated that the heck was fine and that he should be a top pick. i cant remember at what time he was actually drafted by the Vikings but teams seemed to have taken notice of his injury and let him pass at least a few rounds or so longer than what he should have

yeah, peterson should have been a top 3 pick that year along with Calvin Johnson and Joe Thomas. the raiders reached on russell and the bucs, cards and skins all had quality backs. the vikes had a quality back in chester taylor, but couldn't pass up peterson's abilities. i think peterson's injuries had a bit to do with him dropping, but a lot of team needs came into play. and he certainly didn't drop THAT far. neither will crabtree. i just don't see him making it out of the top 5-6

Crabtree isn't going to drop out of the first 5 picks. I wouldn't be suprise if the Lions drafted him #1 to be opposite of Calvin Johnson.
