If Ray Leaves, What Will Our Lineup Look Like Next Season?

i belive the pick will be Aaron Mayib, Larry Enlgish, Sean Smith, Jeremy Maclin or Seasn Smith with our first rounder, move JJ inside and finnaly get a pass rush

What about Jameel McClain, Antwan Barnes and Edgar Jones?

During the season McClain seemed to have overtaken Barnes as 2nd string and situational snaps and Harbaugh said Edgar Jones (part time TE) would have started in place of Suggs if he couldnt play in the AFC Championship game. It is a question mark but we need someone else we can unleash from the edge.

McClain was good, but Barnes is a beast. I guarantee he becomes one of our favorite players if given the shot to start.

I watched both in college. Barnes I knew was a beast coming in, but doesn't quite have the right frame as of right now. He needs to bulk up if he wants to start. I think McClain should start, and split time with Barnes. They should both be on the field on passing downs, blitzing along side Suggz, Ngata, and Pryce. That would kill offenses.

I don't really like the idea of JJ being our MLB to be honest with you. Not really sure why. If we can get Maualuga with our first pick I think we should go there (assuming Ray leaves). I just don't feel like JJ has what it takes to replace, Ray, but Rey might. JJ would be better IMO rotating among the OLBs, or on 1st downs and second and shorts.

We have much more pressing need than LB...we have a bunch of young studs in our LB core...we need a young CB desperately

I think we will switch to the 4-3 if Ray leaves.. leaving us LOLB - suggs MLB - Scott ROLB - Antwan Barnes/Jarret Johnson, Mcclain

I dont know if we have the DE's to go back to a vanilla 4-3. We might end up playing a basic 3-4 and making Suggs a true rush LB. Personally I dont think JJ has the burst to play off the edge and we could just use him as a hammer between the tackles.

he got kicked out of NY because he couldn't play in the 3-4


EDIT: and barnes is just a pass rusher, I don't think he can play MLB

Not true they tried to use Barnes as a pass rusher n it didnt work out he is definately more of a bart scott type of LB
also Vilma just needs a better supporting cast cause he didnt have much talent around him in NY
