i'd call them even. maybe a slight edge to moss but for a complete player i'd have to say fitzgerald because of age and he is a absolute team player which moss has never been
You guys are crazy. Randy Moss is the best WR in this league. Yes Fitzgerald is a beast but he's in a pass 1st offense so of course he's going to get more chances to make big plays. If you put Randy Moss on the Cardinals Fitzgerald would be the 3rd wide out on that team. Fitzgerald is not faster than Moss. Fitzgerald doesn't have better hands than Moss. Fitzgerald can not jump higher than Moss. Fitzgerald is not a better route runner than Moss. Fitzgerald is not a better WR than Moss.

Fitzgerald isn't a better WR than Anquan Boldin. He maybe a better route runner than Anquan Boldin. He may have a faster forty time than Anquan Boldin. But he is not a better WR than Anquan Boldin. His blocking isn't as dominate as Anquan Boldin. His YAC ability isn't as good as Anquan Boldin. They both have their upsides. One is fast with great hands the other is Physical with great play making ability. Doesn't mean one is outright better than the other.

Fitzgerald is a great WR but right now he's being overrated. He is great, but the latest spotlight has pumped up the Fitzgerald hype more than need be. Where was the LArry Fitgerald talk week 9? It's only bcuz the playoff spotlight has been shown on the Cardnials that all this sudden recognition has been the source of the sports medias latest talking points.

To prove my point, b4 the playoffs began Andre Johnson was the "leagues best WR". Everyone with a camera crew and a mic rode that bandwagon. Playoff time rolls around and the Texans fade off the map...Fitzgerald is now the "leagues best WR". What happen in that short period of time that made Andre Johnson obsolete in the best wr talk? B4 Brady went down Moss was the "leagues best WR". B4 the meltdown in Dallas T.O. was the "leagues best WR".

Everyone is on Fitzgerald's sack bcuz of the media's mind control over the average sports fan whose opinions are only based off of top 10 highlights and Expert Analysts latest fad setting thoughts. Keep over looking Anquan Boldin. Your loss.
1. The Pats arent in a pass-first offense!?!?!?
2. Fitz wouldn't be the third wide out- he'd be the second.. if you suppose that Randy Moss should be first.. Since Fitz is already first and Boldin is second
3. Fitzgerald has the best hands in this league. THAT JUMP BALL SHOULD HAVE PROVED IT!
4. Fitz has a better YAC ability. Just because Boldin is more powerful, that doesn't mean he is simply a better YAC guy. Check out Fitzgerald, he turned that 10 yard pass yesterday into a 64. I bet Harrison/Polamalu would have caught Bolden.
5. About your "where was he in week 9." Well, he had a coming out party. Tons of people finally saw the Cardinals play, and all can see what Fitz can do. An also, he was obviousely doing work if he had 96 receptions for 1400 (somewhere more then 1400) yards.
6. Everyone's on Fitzgeralds sack?? Nah, your just on Boldin's.

I agree with you Zach. Larry Fitzgerald is coming into his own. I know I said he is a better receiver than Moss and I am going to stick to that. He has all of the versatility that Randy Moss doesnt have. Hes able to get up there and grab a ball 9 to 10 feet in the air as you saw against Carolina and Philly, He has alot of intangibles. Now for Ravens IQ on Boldin. You made a good point that hes physical and blocks good. I have not seen anything that would make me believe Boldin is a better receiver. He really didnt produce in the Super Bowl either. Yeah hes a great talent Boldin is, but Fitz is a better receiver overall.

i think when fitz laid out one handed to stretch for a TD, thats when i realized this man is something different,,,,,ill take him over moss for the mere fact i think he has more determination
ya... hes been dropping alot right in his #s as of late

Ya... that would just be bad news bringing TO in to play, he would tear Flacco apart when he threw to Heap instead of him

I heard something about Fitz said he will rework his contract to keep Boldin in Arizona.... so Boldin might be outta the question for you guys... not 100% sure on that one though.

You guys can take Limas Sweed if you want lol
I think purple punishment is right your colors are black and yellow and not black and gold.. Unless you want to call yourselves the Pittsburgh saints I suggest you get your colors right. Maybe your color blind and that's a different story...

Fitz is a beast, no doubt about it. Future HOF if he keeps it up. But he is no Randy Moss. Moss is far and away the most physically gifted WR the NFL has ever seen. Other than Jerry Rice, I don't think there has ever been a better WR than him, and the stats will back that up. His ROOKIE season was better than anything we have ever seen out of Fitz.

black and yellow are their colors! I believe theres alot of colorblind folks in Pitt with all the inbreeding going on and all

I would put Andre Johnson above Boldin as an elite receiver

speedwise yes randy has him i mean moss still runs a 4.2 40. However I dont see him jumping up and snagging the ball out of the air like Fitz does. They are both very talented receivers, I will give them that. I still think Fitz is more versatile

I'm not being rude, seriously, but that comment I put in bold just made you lose a lot of credibility. Moss is the measuring stick when it comes to the jump ball, no one is on his level in that respect, not Fitz, not Boldin, not TO, no one does it like Moss does. That's not just my opinion, that's the consensus of anyone who has followed the NFL for any length of time.

Is Fitz more versatile? I don't really see how...there's nothing that he can do that Moss can't. He's more physical, but everything Fitz does, Moss does as well or better.

maybe i just havent seen Moss pull the circus catches like I saw from fitz the past few weeks. I agree he goes up there but there was a heck of alot of skill and focus from Larry Fitzgerald against Philly and at Carolina. I didnt say Moss doesnt go up for the ball. I just never seen those circus catches that Fitz has pulled, out of Moss. In the sense of that style.

im just picturing in my mind Moss being more of a great route runner that can burn the cleats off of defenders. Once again, I never said he doesnt go up for the ball just never seen him with my eyes pull those circus catches like Fitz has

Fitz is on fire, and I do not want to sound like I'm trying to take anything from him in the least. I love that guy. But he has yet to put together the type of year that Moss has done multiple times. Looking at the stats, this year was easily Fitz's best. Yet, it doesn't come close to Randy's four or five best years, so he still has a looong way to go before we can even think about putting him in Randy's class.

As for the circus catches, I'm not sure what to tell ya....go look around, I promise it won't take long for you to find some sick Moss plays.

Well, I'm not just directing it at you, but I just now read through this thread, and it is insane how many people are trying to put Fitz in Moss' class. Guess it really is a what-have-you-done-lately league. Moss was a legend only a few years in the league. Fitz, well, people are just now starting to hype him up. And strange thing about that is, it is extremely debatable whether he is the best WR on his own team.

I think he may be....but same story as always, our cap space makes it an unlikely scenario. Besides, the guy will be 33 I think after next season, so he wouldn't be a long term answer.

You know who i think the best WR in the league is?

Andre Johnson.

People don't put him into a group with Fitzgerald or Moss because he is on a team that doesn't win very many agmes. But he deserves every bit byte of credit he gets and he doesn't demand the attention like some recievers do. He's the ULTIMATE Wide Reciever.

You make a great statement about Moss as he was dominant when he began his career in Minnesota. Went to Oakland, put up lackluster numbers and people thought he fell off. Then he goes to NE and puts up the arguably one of the best seasons ever by a receiver. He broke Jerry Rice's TD record. Moss is getting older but as we are coming to find out, receivers are getting better as they age. D-Mase, Randy Moss, and Charelton Heston are just a few to name

...........oops Heston was in Planet Of The Apes, sorry! lol

Tell ya what, you give Johnson a real QB like Warner, we would be talking about him right now the way everyone is talking about Fitz.
My ONLY objection to Andre being better than Fitz is that I've seen him drop too many catchable passes. He has always been compared to TO, and I think that is a very good comparison.

Not to get off topic, but I think Fitz's numbers will fall when Matt Leinart takes over at the helm again. I dont think hes the answer for Arizona

I think Moss will still play very well in his mid- thirties. Even if he loses a lot of speed and acceleration, he will still be a 6'4 WR with excellent hands and over a decade of experience. And honestly, at 35, he'll probably still be faster than 80% of the WR in the league (like Joey Galloway), so it's not like he still wouldn't make some huge plays.

Same with Fitz and Boldin. Neither of them are burners, but they are effective after the catch because they have great vision and are powerful and physical. They'll still be elite in their 30's as well.

Sadly, I agree...

While Leinart is the QB, Fitz and Boldin will never play at their full potential. Which is a damn shame, because they are both hitting their prime. As great as they are, they can only do so much to cover Leinart's mistakes.
Larry Fitzgerald is the best WR of all time. No joke. We aren't getting someone like him.

However, we do need an upgrade.

The best WR of all time?

He is great but the best I don't know about that.

Jerry Rice: TD 197 REC 1549 Yards 22895 AVG 14.8
Larry Fitzgerald TD 46 REC 426 Yards 5975 AVG 14.0

Take it easy!! No need to break out Rice on the guy. Save Rice for people who argue Moss, Harrison or TO were the best. To refute Fitz, all you had to do was mention that Fitz best years look similiar to Largent's best years.

Add him to our roster. We need that type of receiver. Then He will know what it feels like to beat the Steelers. Thats our missing piece. A playmaker/deep threat WR.
Flacco reminds me of a Elway/Brady hybrid. Big Guy, Big Arm. His arm is strong and very accurate even more so on deep throws. He will be a 300yd passer definitely, But understand that those perfromances are not expected out of him as we are gonna ba a run first team for quite a while. If you remember the Jacksonville game. Flacco had 256yds passing by Halftime. We was just flinging the deep ball. Yes he will have those games and will be more comfotable getting there because the weight is not on his shoulders. One strong receiver is what we need and the lanes will open up to Clayton and Mason. This is best described by looking at the New England Patriots. Moss became their deep threat and Welker stayed under for those posession passes for big yardage. It was the fact that Moss opened up the field more and when welker would catch the ball on a short crossing route, he had tons of running space from the threat that Moss presented.
Fitzgerald's (6'3'') vertical leap: 42''
Moss's (6'4'') vertical leap: 51"

Fitzgerald's forty time: 4.56
Moss's forty time: 4.25

Fitzgerald can catch the ball with 1 hand
Moss can catch the ball with 3 fingers

Brady went down. He has a guy throwing to him that b4 this season has never started a football games since his high school playing career. Vs. Fitzgerald who has Kurt Warner (Superbowl MVP) throwing to him.

New England threw the ball 534 times in the reg. Season for 3,569 yards. Arizona threw the ball 630 times for 4,674 yards. New England finished the reg. Season 6th overall in rushing offense (2,278 yards), 4th in rushing attempts (513). The Arizona Cardinals finished the re. season 32nd overall in rushing offense (1,178 yards), 32nd in rushing attempts (340).

I rest my case. And if you need further proof that Moss is the best WR in the league go to youtube.
