The Ravens Need A Playmaker At Receiver...

109 posts in this topic

After watching the Super Bowl, I can't help but think about the Ravens and how they can get to this point. Both teams got big-time plays from their receivers. No one really be talking about Anquan Boldin but he had a very good game and Fitzgerald put on a show late. Holmes has done it all year and did it again tonight with some HUGE plays.

We've all said it at one point but the Ravens need a playmaker at receiver. I want them to get a corner like D.J. Moore or Alphonso Smith in the draft but I really hope they draft and finally hit on a receiver this year.

Mason is only getting older and Clayton will probably never be able to do what Holmes does unless he has someone taking pressure off him.

Larry Fitzgerald is the best WR of all time. No joke. We aren't getting someone like him.

However, we do need an upgrade.

Imagine if we cut everyone on "O", and got Aso, Palu, and Patrick Willis. :o :o :o Like that would ever happen <_<. I agree that we need a major upgrade.

Don't crown him yet, but I agree he will be one of the all time greats. Definitely better then Randy Moss IMO.

DHB is very raw, I would rather see Kenny Britt or Hakeem Nicks. Unless DHB falls to the second round, I don't think we should take him.

Holmes was ok this year, this I know because he was on my FF team. :P Whenever I needed him to step up he didn't. Not taking away from his game today, I just shook my head.

Dude shut up already about Patrick Willis. It's never happening. San Fran is not gonna give up their best player just bcuz you think it's a good idea. This is like the 100th time you've brought up Patrick Willis on this message board. San Fran trading Patrick Willis is like the Colts trading Payton Manning. It's not happening. You have a better chance at laying a golden egg than the Ravens have at getting Patrick Willis. STOP. Just Stop. Joking or not.

Well I have you're back. I'd love to have T.O.
He would be an absolute stud here in Baltimore.

If you're willing to go out on a limb then I'll go out there with you and say this..

Ray for T.O.?

NOO that's not what I want but from all the latest reports on Ray, things aren't looking to great. If Dallas want's Ray you know they are going to give up whatever it takes. There are already rumors about Dallas looking for ways to get rid of T.O. so a packaged deal for Ray doesn't seem to far fetched. People are already bringing up hypotheticals about how TO would respond to Ray in the locker room suggesting it would be a bad mix. Could it happen? I hope not just saying...Cam asked Ozzie for a big playmaking WR for next year. Ray's comments, Shannon Sharpes comments, Rod Woodson's comments, all are not helping any. The salary cap + Ray's last chance at getting big bucks + the chance of losing him in FA could = trade ray for draft picks (Couple 1st round picks maybe 1,2,3) or big play wr on offense as a last desperation scenario at retaining as much value as possible from our best player. Just saying...not hoping.

lol...well, we won't bash ya since you're down there and don't get the priviledge of witnessing the drama queen known as TO.

Short answer is.....Hell No, No T.O.

Have you seen a Flacco press conference? That dude could spend 10 years in a Stalinist gulag and barely notice.

He's calm and collected almost to the point of apathy.

Honestly I dont think T.O. would have problem here. There isn't big media. It's not like Anita Marks or Mike Preston is gonna make T.O. flip out. We have a team atmosphere which T.O. has never really had a chance to be a part of. We have a lot of level headed players and a lot of veteran leadership. Harbaugh might be one of the guys from Philly that T.O. was close with. If he demanded Joe to give him the ball it's not like it would be a bad a thing. That would be the whole purpose in bringing him here. He gives it his all, blocking, running, route running. He is purely a top notch competitor. Trust me when your at such a high level of competition players hate losing more than they love winning. T.O. is one of those guys. I think being that T.O. is towards the latter end of his career that his goal would be more towards attaining another championship then personal accomplishments. He's been apart of so many failing organizations plus the additional pressure given by all the major media that it causes frustration and over whelms him. The drama is only brought bcuz the media finds ways to bring it. It's not T.O. It's the reporters trying to create a story. Bottom line I don't think he would get the negative attention that he received from previous major markets simply bcuz nobody cares about Baltimore and that this team is ran as a unit not as a team of individuals.

haha sorry, I only wish that you were joking, but Fitzgerald is not the greatest WR of all time. I don't even think he is the best receiver in the league right now. I would rather have Randy Moss on my team, especially when we have a qb like Flacco, who throws one of the best deep balls in the whole league. I'm not trying to knock Fitzgerald, he has hands of gold, but he still has lots to prove in his career to even be mentioned with the rest of the all time greats. Additionally, how can you forget about Jerry Rice? The man is in a class of his own, he is the G.O.A.T. Nobody comes close to what he has accomplished in his career.
philly has a team atmosphere... ever since he's been gone... they have been better than with him
to be fair...philly fans probably didn't help the situation out a whole lot when they started turning on both McNabb and T.O.

It all stemmed from the superbowl loss when McNabb basically choked. Think about it. T.O. did everything to return from a broken leg including sleeping in an oxygen chamber, special diets, supplements, exercises, rehabilitation, just so he could help his team in the superbowl. McNabb get's sick, hurts his team (cost them the championship) bcuz he didn't take his flinstone chewables??

I'd be mad too. In his mind he's doing everything in his ability to return from a compound fracture in his leg but McNabb allows himself to get sick the week b4 the superbowl? Was McNabb doing everything in his ability to stay healthy and be at his best? The same commitment wasn't there for McNabb (the team leader) that T.O. was willing to make. That causes animosities towards teammates especially if it cost a player a career goal such as a Lombardi Trophy.

then the Fans shred McNabb he gets his ego hurt. Hes no longer the chunky soup funny man everybody flocks too in the locker room. He gets jealous and the T.O./McNabb soap opera is born.

Even in Dallas the fans were booing him bcuz of the alleged comments made by witten. No love.

Ravens fans never turn on their players (unless that players jersey reads Boller. Then it's ok.hahah cheered when he hurt his ankle, still cracks me up) Imagine the love we would give T.O. and how much he would appreciate it. = Pleasant relationship.

If you think Boldin is better than Fitz your crazy. Fitz is an absolute animal, and catches anything he touches. Not to mention is a total class act. But I would agree he has a way to go before he is mentioned as once of the greatest of all time, but he has the talent to make an amazing HOF run.
